What is AGIBOT?
AGIBOT — known on its Chinese-language site as Zhiyuan Robotics — is a Shanghai company that designs, manufactures and sells general-purpose embodied robots together with the software stack that makes them useful. It was founded in February 2023 by a team drawn from Huawei and other technology leaders, and it states its mission as creating unlimited productivity via intelligent machines.
The hardware catalogue spans four families. The A series covers full-size humanoids: A2 Ultra, which holds a Guinness World Record for the longest distance walked by a humanoid robot at 106.286 km and claims CR, CE-MD, CE-RED and FCC certification; A2 Lite for stage and performance work; A2-W for flexible manufacturing; and the newer A3. The X series offers 25 to 30 degrees of freedom and multimodal interaction combining vision, voice, touch and facial expression, with LiDAR and RGB-D navigation reserved for the X2 Ultra. The G series targets industrial work: G2 is built from 100% automotive-grade components, rated IP42, and performs sub-millimetre assembly under force control. Alongside them sit the D1 quadrupeds, the C5 commercial cleaning robot and the OmniHand dexterous hands.
The software half matters as much. Genie Studio is an all-in-one development platform for embodied intelligence: template-driven data collection, a distributed pipeline for cleaning and validating that data, training and fine-tuning on integrated open models such as RDT, Pi0, OpenVLA and GR00T plus AGIBOT's own GO-1 foundation model, a simulation suite with more than 8,000 assets and over 100 evaluation tasks, and one-click deployment from cloud to physical machine. AIDEA supplies the data side — collection robots, MoCap and VR teleoperation rigs, fine-grained tagging and human review. Link-U OS, released as open source, is the embodied operating layer: the in-house AimRT middleware speaking ROS2 messages, Bazel builds, Docker environments, MuJoCo and Isaac Gym toolchains, PPO training and Sim2Sim to Sim2Real transfer.
AGIBOT also publishes openly. The X1 humanoid ships with downloadable BOM, STEP and SolidWorks files plus inference and training code on GitHub, and the AGIBOT World dataset is mirrored on Hugging Face. Robots are sold directly through a global online store with published prices in US dollars, while the AGIBOT Go mobile app handles pairing, control, health monitoring and OTA firmware updates.

GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed explicitly. Section XII of the privacy policy opens a dedicated EU/EEA block stating that where AGIBOT is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation, specific rules apply. An Article 27 representative in the EEA is named — William S, reachable at William@agibot.com — and a data protection officer is designated, reachable via Jérôme DEROULEZ at privacy@agibot-global.com. Transfers outside the EEA are covered either by verifying an adequate level of protection at the recipient or by EU standard contractual clauses, and an overview of those safeguards can be requested. The policy lists access, objection, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, complaint to a regulator and freedom from automated decision-making. Separate sections cover the CCPA/CPRA, Singapore's PDPA, Hong Kong's PDPO, Korea's PIPA and Japan. No DPA is published, and no model-training opt-out is documented.
Who owns the data?
The AGIBOT entity acting as data controller depends on the buyer's jurisdiction: AGIBOT PTE. LTD. in Singapore and for all other countries and regions, Agibot K.K. for Japan and Korea, and AgiBot Innovation (HongKong) Technology Co., Limited for Hong Kong SAR. The website and online store are operated by AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. Personal data may be shared with group affiliates, business partners, service providers and, where legally compelled, public authorities. Named processors include Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) Private Limited, Amazon Web Services, Inc., Shopify Inc. and Zhiyuan Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. The privacy policy in force since 30 April 2026 states that personal data is never used for automated decision-making or profiling.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the published terms grants the end user a licence to reuse AGIBOT's own material. The store terms state that the Services — trademarks, text, images, graphics, product reviews, video and audio, and their selection and arrangement — are owned by AGIBOT, its affiliates or licensors. Feedback submitted by a customer is a different matter: sending it grants AGIBOT a perpetual, worldwide, sublicensable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute and display it in any medium, including commercially. The open-source releases are the exception that does travel the other way: the X1 design files, the inference and training code, Link-U OS, the AimRT framework and the AGIBOT World dataset are published on GitHub, Hugging Face and cloud drives for reuse under their own licences. Personal data itself is governed by the privacy policy, which grants access, rectification, erasure and portability rights rather than a reuse right.
