GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly: the trust page states "We are SOC 2 and GDPR compliant", and every page footer carries SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, EU AI Act, NIST CSF and DORA badges. The commitment is backed by real documents rather than slogans. A data processing agreement, last revised on 19 March 2026, is published in full: it relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision 2021/914), the UK IDTA and the UK Addendum for transfers outside the EEA and the United Kingdom, and names seventeen authorised sub-processors. A Data Protection Officer is designated and reachable at security@happyrobot.ai. The privacy notice lists the usual rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Who owns the data?
The licence agreement splits ownership. The customer owns its Customer Content and Customer Output, but grants HappyRobot a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual and irrevocable licence to use that content to deliver the service. HappyRobot, for its part, owns the platform and also every configuration, prompt, workflow, integration and customisation built on it, regardless of who created it.
