Two newer modules extend the scope. Track Separation provides a vocal remover, stem splitter, MIDI chord extraction and detectors for chords, BPM and key. Learn Chords offers 26 interactive guitar lessons running from open chords through power chords to moveable and barre shapes, with scoring. Both are desktop-only. An AI Lyrics panel generates words per song section, tuned by mood and creativity level, with a rhyme dictionary on click.
Around the paid product sit eleven free tools that need no account, including a metronome, circle of fifths, chord and scale finders, a drum machine and printable staff paper. There is no mention of the GDPR anywhere on the site — the term does not appear once across the homepage, pricing, privacy policy or terms. This is notable because the publisher, ChordChord OÜ, is established in Estonia and therefore inside the European Union. No data protection officer is named, no Article 27 representative is designated, no Data Processing Agreement is offered, no legal basis for processing is stated, and there is no table of data subject rights such as access, portability or objection. The only operational right documented is deletion: users can request full removal of their data by e-mail, carried out within one to three working days. ChordChord is a capable and genuinely affordable songwriting assistant, and it is honest about what it is: a harmony engine rather than a machine that spits out finished tracks. Its strongest card is the range of ways in. Being able to describe a mood in words, paste a chord sheet, play a few bars into a microphone, or drop in an audio file and get editable blocks back is more flexibility than most tools at this price offer. The surrounding ecosystem is unusually generous too, with stem separation, 26 scored guitar lessons and eleven free utilities that need no account at all.
Ownership is the other clear win. Exports carry no watermark, cost no royalties and can be released commercially without credit, and the terms say plainly that you keep 100% of the copyright. For a hobbyist or a working producer, that removes the licensing anxiety attached to a lot of AI music tooling.
The weak point is governance rather than craft. For a company registered in Estonia, and therefore inside the European Union, the complete absence of any GDPR wording is striking: no data protection officer, no processing agreement, no stated hosting jurisdiction and nothing at all about whether customer data trains the models.
