Observely
Observely is a personal dashboard that gathers bookmarks, tasks, notes, feeds, calendar and webhooks onto composable boards, adding AI chat across 13 models, voice-to-text notes and voice-to-task todos for USD 49.50 a year.
What is Observely?
Observely is a personal productivity dashboard rather than a single-purpose AI tool. Everything happens on boards that you compose yourself from widgets, so one screen can hold the feeds, notes, tasks and integrations you would otherwise chase across a dozen tabs.
The homepage lists fourteen built-in apps: Bookmarks, Todos, Note, Audionote, aiChat, Pomodoro Timer, News feed and RSS, Time Tracker, Google Calendar, Exchange Rates, Inbox, Webhook, Time Zones and Embed. The features page adds an App Builder that generates interactive apps with AI, a Tiles layout, a Quote of the Day widget and simple elements such as Link, Image, Title and Calendar. Nine ready-made feeds cover generic RSS, Hacker News, Reddit, Product Hunt, YouTube, Dev.to, crypto, weather and exchange rates sourced from the European Central Bank.
Three features are genuinely AI-driven. aiChat exposes thirteen named models from seven vendors: GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini from OpenAI, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Claude 3.5 Sonnet and Claude 3.5 Haiku from Anthropic, Llama 3 70b and Llama 3 8b from Meta, Mixtral 8x7b from Mistral AI, Gemma 2 9B and Gemma 7B from Google, Grok Beta from xAI, and DeepSeek Chat and DeepSeek R1. A prompt manager stores and reuses your favourite prompts, and no API key is required. Notes accept dictation and are transcribed automatically, and Todos can pull actionable tasks out of a spoken description of your day.
Only two named integrations exist: Google Calendar, which also lets you join a video call directly from an event, and inbound webhooks, which let external applications push custom displays onto a board.
Observely is the work of a solo founder, who tells the story in the first person on the About page and signs it ihti. The terms name the publisher as Observely doo, Visoko. Three demo boards are open without an account, and three side tools, Audionotes, a timezones tool and a Pomodoro timer, are free to anyone. The site itself calls the product in its early stages.
What it does
- Bring feeds, notes, tasks and tools together on one composable board
- Chat with thirteen large language models without leaving the dashboard
- Dictate a note and have it transcribed into editable text
- Describe your day out loud and let the AI extract the todos from it
- Follow Hacker News, Reddit, Product Hunt, YouTube and Dev.to in one place
- Receive webhooks from external applications and display them on a board
- Check Google Calendar and join a video call straight from an event
When to use Observely / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Observely is the right fit.
When to use Observely
- Solo founders and indie makers who juggle feeds, tasks and notes across a dozen browser tabs
- Freelancers and consultants who would rather pay for one workspace than five separate subscriptions
- Developers who follow Hacker News, Reddit, Product Hunt and Dev.to and want webhooks on the same screen
- Anyone who wants several large language models in one place without managing API keys
- People who capture ideas by voice and want notes transcribed and todos extracted automatically
When not to use Observely
- Teams: nothing in the product documents sharing, roles or collaboration
- Organisations with a GDPR or procurement obligation, since the site publishes no compliance framework, DPA or hosting location
- Developers who need a public API, as no API documentation exists anywhere on the site
- Users who want a native iOS or Android application rather than a browser
- Heavy AI users, who will run through the 150 chat messages a month quickly
How to use Observely
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open the three public demo boards to see a working dashboard before signing up
- Optionally book a demo call with the publisher through the link in the footer
- Create an account with an email address, or sign in with Google
- Start the 30-day trial, which asks for no credit card
- Create your first board and add the widgets you actually need
- Add feeds such as RSS, Hacker News, Reddit or YouTube to follow your sources
- Connect Google Calendar to see events and join calls from the board
- Drop aiChat onto the board and pick a model for each conversation
- Record a note or a spoken plan and let it be transcribed or turned into todos
- Configure an external service to post to a webhook if you want live data on the board
Pros & Cons
Pros
- A wide feature set for one inexpensive subscription at USD 49.50 a year
- Thirteen language models from seven vendors included, with no API key to supply
- Three public demo boards let you judge the product before creating an account
- A 30-day trial that requires no credit card
- Three standalone tools, Audionotes, timezones and Pomodoro, are free to anyone
- A dated public changelog of twenty entries makes past development traceable
- Simple, readable pricing: one plan, no seats, no hidden tiers, unlimited boards
Cons
- No GDPR framework whatsoever: no mention of the regulation, no rights, no DPA, no subprocessors, no hosting country
- Terms built on an unfinished template, where the publisher's country is still left as ID while the company is named at Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina
- No postal address, and a single email address covering support, legal and privacy
- The changelog stops on 26 January 2025, more than eighteen months before this review
- No public API, no developer documentation and no native mobile application
- No permanent free plan for the dashboard, and aiChat is capped at 150 messages a month
- Nothing for teams: no collaboration, sharing or role management is documented
Pricing & Plans
Observely does not offer a permanent free plan. A single paid subscription is published at USD 49.50 per year, billed yearly, which the vendor presents as two months free compared with monthly billing. A 30-day free trial is available and requires no credit card. Three standalone tools, Audionotes, the timezones tool and the Pomodoro timer, remain free of charge outside the subscription.
- all Observely features
- unlimited boards
- 150 AI chat messages per month
- AI voice-to-text notes
- AI voice-to-task todos
- customer support and two months free
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Observely handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no GDPR framework on this site at all. The words GDPR and CCPA appear nowhere in the pages collected, and neither does a legal basis for processing, a right of access, rectification, erasure, portability or objection, an Article 27 EU representative, a data protection officer, a data processing agreement or a list of subprocessors. That is silence rather than a refusal: Observely never states that it falls outside the regulation, it simply never raises the subject, which is why the compliance flag reads N. One concrete right is described, in section 3.1 of the privacy policy dated 30 May 2024: deleting your account removes your email address from the system. Every privacy question goes to a single mailbox, hi@observely.app. The publisher, Observely doo of Visoko, is European but based outside the European Union.
Who owns the data?
The privacy policy, dated 30 May 2024, never assigns ownership of the content you create, and the terms say nothing about notes, todos or bookmarks. The homepage claims your data is yours alone and is never shared with third parties. One clause does transfer ownership: any feedback, idea, improvement or suggestion you send becomes the sole and exclusive property of Observely, which may use, copy, modify, publish or redistribute it without credit or compensation. Anything you post or submit to the service is treated the same way. Google data is a separate case: only your email address is kept, and only if you sign in with Google.
Reuse rights
The documents describe what Observely may do with your data rather than what you may do with it, and they place no restriction on reusing your own content. The privacy policy lists seven purposes: running and maintaining the service, notifying you of changes, enabling interactive features, providing support, analysing usage to improve the product, monitoring the service and addressing technical problems. It rules out selling, renting, trading or sharing your personal information for third-party marketing, and permits disclosure only for a legal obligation, an abuse investigation, personal safety or protection against liability. Data obtained through Google is governed by the Limited Use requirements of the Google API Services User Data Policy. Neither document mentions training AI models on customer data, in either direction.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Observely publishes no hosting location at all. Neither the privacy policy, dated 30 May 2024, nor the terms name a country, a region or a cloud provider, and there is no security or trust page where that information might live: the full sitemap lists twenty-eight URLs and contains nothing of the kind. What the policy does say is a general commitment to appropriate technical and organisational measures, with the explicit caveat that no transmission or storage method is completely secure. The homepage adds a marketing claim of advanced encryption and security protocols, with no certification, audit or technical detail behind it. Outside anything the vendor declares, the domain resolves to an anycast address on Amazon infrastructure and the HTTP headers identify Vercel as the server. That describes a content delivery node, not the jurisdiction where user data is stored, and it should not be read as one. Anyone with a hosting-location requirement will have to ask the publisher directly.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Observely.
- The site never mentions the GDPR, data hosting, retention or model training, so you cannot know where your notes and conversations end up, or for how long
- A single mailbox, hi@observely.app, handles support, legal and privacy questions, and there is no postal address to fall back on
- The terms are an unfinished template: the publisher's country is left as ID in three places while the company is named at Visoko in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and disputes are pointed at American arbitration
- The homepage claim of advanced encryption and security protocols comes with no certification, no audit and no technical detail behind it
- A dashboard built to hold everything becomes a single point of failure, and no export path for notes, todos or bookmarks is documented anywhere
- Public development has been quiet since January 2025 on a product its own author calls early stage, so plan for the possibility that it stops
- A screen of live feeds can quietly replace focused work with monitoring: the tool is sold as a cure for context switching, but it can just as easily concentrate the habit in one window
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low. Observely is a web service with nothing to install: sign up with an email address or with Google, then start dropping widgets onto a board. The homepage promises a quick setup, the 30-day trial asks for no credit card, and boards can be reordered by dragging them. aiChat needs no API key, since the thirteen models are included in the subscription. The only step that assumes some technical comfort is webhooks, where you configure an external service to post to Observely; a how-to page covers it.

Should you pick Observely?
Observely does something unfashionable. Instead of one AI feature, it sells a whole personal workspace and prices it at USD 49.50 a year. For that you get unlimited boards, fourteen built-in apps, nine feeds, dictated notes, spoken todos and thirteen large language models behind a single subscription with no API key to manage. Three public demo boards let you judge the product before signing up, which is more than most tools allow. As a personal command centre for a founder, a freelancer or a developer who lives in browser tabs, the value is hard to argue with.
The reservations are not about the product but about everything around it. There is no GDPR framework of any kind, no hosting country, no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list and no postal address, and one mailbox handles support, legal and privacy alike. The terms come from a template that was never finished: the publisher's country is left as ID in three places while the company is named as Observely doo of Visoko, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The homepage claim of advanced encryption arrives with nothing to back it. And the changelog, busy from August 2024 to January 2025, has been silent since, on a product its own author calls early stage.
So: a good deal for an individual who wants one screen instead of twelve and can live with a young, thinly documented service. A poor fit for a team, for anyone under a compliance obligation, or for anyone needing an API or a native mobile app. Try the demo boards and the 30-day trial before committing, and ask the publisher directly about hosting and retention if either matters to you.
