Kidora
Kidora is a Belgian AI study platform: upload your course notes, slides or textbook photos and it builds chapter summaries, spaced-repetition flashcards, quizzes, audio lessons and a personal study plan around them. Data stays in the EU.
What is Kidora?
Kidora is an AI-powered learning platform built by EFX Concept, a Belgian sole proprietorship, and delivered as a web application. Its premise is narrow and clear: rather than offering a generic library of pre-made content, it works only from what the learner already has. You upload your own course material, and the platform extracts the study units from it and builds everything else around them. Accepted formats are PDF, Word, PowerPoint, JPEG, PNG and WebP, so a photograph of handwritten notes or a textbook chapter works as well as a lecture deck. File size caps rise with the plan, from 20 MB on the free tier to 50 MB on the top one. From a single upload, Kidora produces chapter summaries, flashcards driven by an SM-2 spaced-repetition schedule, quizzes that mix question types such as concept definition, process, reasoning, comparison and recall, narrated audio lessons, practice exercises, a concept map and a study plan. An AI Tutor sits alongside them as a chat grounded in the uploaded document, so its answers stay tied to the course rather than to the open web. Higher tiers add a Socratic tutor, a study buddy coach, tests with verification and unlimited smart review sessions. Around all of this the product layers gamification, XP, levels, achievements and streaks, plus retention forecasting, progress tracking and weekly AI insights. The generation engine is Google Vertex AI in the europe-west1 region, with Google Cloud Text-to-Speech producing the audio. Content is adapted to the learner's age band, education level, mastery and language preference, and the interface exists in seven genuinely translated languages: English, French, Dutch, German, Turkish, Spanish and Portuguese. Data sovereignty is a deliberate part of the pitch. Kidora states that data stays in Europe and is never used to train AI, encrypted with AES-256 and TLS, with seven named subprocessors. Minors are handled strictly: under-13s cannot register at all, and 13 to 15 year-olds need a guardian to confirm consent by email, which is stricter than Belgian law requires. An institutional offer, Kidora for Schools, covers classrooms and whole institutions under volume licensing.

When to use Kidora / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Kidora is the right fit.
When to use Kidora
- Secondary-school pupils aged 13 and over who revise from their own class notes and handouts
- University students preparing exams who want active recall, spaced repetition and a study plan built from a single upload
- Learners who study on the move and prefer narrated audio lessons to reading
- Teachers and tutors who guide a class or a student through revision, including via the volume-licensed Kidora for Schools offer
- Families and schools in the EU that care about where study data is stored and whether it feeds AI training
When not to use Kidora
- Children under 13, who are blocked at registration under Kidora's own age policy
- Professionals who want to produce or resell courseware, since the terms forbid commercial use and redistribution of AI-generated content
- Developers looking for an API or an integration layer: none is published or documented
- Anyone expecting a native iOS or Android app rather than an installable web application
- Learners who need content validated by a human educator, as AI output is not reviewed by teachers and may contain errors
How to use Kidora
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account with Google, Microsoft or an email address and password
- If you are between 13 and 15, give a guardian's email address and have them confirm consent via the link sent to them
- Name your first study material in the onboarding step
- Upload a PDF, a slide deck or a photo of your course notes, textbook chapter or syllabus
- Choose the language of the material, or let Kidora detect it automatically
- Read the generated chapter summary to get your bearings before studying
- Work through the flashcards and rate yourself honestly, so hard cards return sooner
- Take the quiz, then review what you missed, and listen to the audio lesson when away from your desk
- Ask the AI Tutor about anything in the material that did not land
- Follow your study plan, streaks and daily goal from the dashboard, and buy credits if you exhaust the daily AI budget

- GDPR rights are exercised in the interface, including a JSON export and self-service account deletion
- A permanent free plan with no card required, and an entry paid tier at a student-friendly price
- Child protection stricter than Belgian law demands, with guardian verification for 13 to 15 year-olds
Cons
- The kidora.be marketing site was returning an error when this record was compiled, leaving no public discovery path outside the application
- The publisher is very young and very small: a sole proprietorship registered in September 2025
- No public API and no integration documentation of any kind
- No native mobile app, only an installable web application
- No about page, no contact page and no public social presence to check the company against
- The terms rule out commercial use and redistribution, which narrows professional use

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Kidora handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete and unusually detailed for a tool this young. EFX Concept names itself as data controller, with its Belgian enterprise number and privacy@kidora.be as the contact point. Four legal bases are cited article by article: consent, contract performance, legal obligation and legitimate interest, with a balancing test declared. All seven data subject rights are listed with their article numbers, and four of them, access, rectification, erasure and portability, are exercised directly in the settings rather than by email. Article 30 audit logs are maintained, every subprocessor sits under a written DPA in the EU or under standard contractual clauses, and the Belgian Data Protection Authority is named as the supervisory authority. Minors are handled under the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms, the materials you upload stay yours: PDFs, documents and images remain your intellectual property. You grant Kidora only a limited, non-exclusive licence to process them, and for one purpose alone, generating study material for your personal use. The AI-generated output built from them, summaries, flashcards, quizzes and audio lessons, is licensed back to you for personal educational use. The platform itself, its code, design, branding and underlying technology, belongs to EFX Concept. Uploaded content is described as being processed for educational concept extraction only, and Kidora states that no personal data or user-written text is passed to its AI providers.
Reuse rights
Reuse rights are asymmetric and worth reading before committing. Your own uploads stay under your control and can be exported at any time: the platform provides a machine-readable JSON export covering your personal data, which you can take elsewhere. The AI-generated material is different. It is licensed to you for personal educational use only, and the terms explicitly forbid redistributing it, selling it or exploiting it commercially, as well as using the platform itself for commercial purposes. In practice that means a student may study freely from what Kidora produces, but a tutor or teacher may not repackage those flashcards, quizzes or audio lessons into material they publish or sell.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Kidora keeps processing and storage inside the European Union and names every party involved. Supabase provides the database, authentication and file storage on EU-based servers; Vercel hosts the application and serves it from EU-region data centres; Resend handles transactional email and newsletters from an EU-region audience. Content generation runs on Google Vertex AI in the europe-west1 region, which is located in Belgium, and Google Cloud Text-to-Speech produces the audio in the EU. Payments go through Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified as a processor, and Kidora states it never stores card details. Sentry handles error monitoring with authentication headers scrubbed. Every subprocessor sits under a written data processing agreement and is either established in the EU or covered by standard contractual clauses for any transfer. Transport and storage encryption are advertised as AES-256 and TLS. No storage country outside that europe-west1 region is named, so the jurisdiction should be read as the EU as a whole rather than a single state.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Kidora.
- Generated content is not reviewed by teachers and may contain factual errors or oversimplifications, so treat it as a study aid and check anything that matters against your course
- Outsourcing summarising and question-writing to an AI removes exactly the effortful work that builds memory, so learners risk feeling prepared while having practised recall less than they think
- Gamification through XP, levels, streaks and daily goals can shift motivation toward keeping the streak alive rather than understanding the material
- The kidora.be marketing site was unreachable when this record was compiled, and the publisher has no about page, contact page or public social presence to verify it against
- The publisher is a Belgian sole proprietorship registered in September 2025, so continuity depends on one individual
- The PCI-DSS Level 1 certification mentioned in the privacy policy belongs to Stripe, the payment processor, not to Kidora, which claims no security certification of its own
- Credits are non-refundable except where Belgian consumer law requires otherwise, and the terms forbid commercial use or redistribution of anything the AI generates
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low. There is nothing to install, no API key and no connector to configure: Kidora runs in the browser and can optionally be installed as a progressive web app. Signing up takes one of three routes, Google, Microsoft or email and password, and an onboarding assistant walks you through naming your first material and uploading a file, after which the platform builds the study plan itself. The only extra step applies to users aged 13 to 15, who must supply a guardian email and wait for that guardian to confirm consent.

Should you pick Kidora?
Kidora does one thing and commits to it: it turns a student's own course material into a full revision kit. That focus is its main strength. Because the AI tutor is grounded in the uploaded document rather than the open web, its answers stay on topic, and because summaries, flashcards, quizzes, audio and exercises all come out of one upload, there is very little setup to do before studying starts. The pricing matches the audience, with a genuinely permanent free tier and an entry paid plan at EUR 8.99 a month. Its second strength is uncommon for a tool this small. The privacy policy names its controller, its enterprise number, its seven subprocessors and their regions, and puts data access, export and deletion behind buttons in the interface rather than an email queue. The commitment that customer data is never used to train AI is stated plainly, and the age rules are stricter than Belgian law requires. The reservations are about maturity, not intent. The publisher is a sole proprietorship registered in September 2025, run by a single named individual. There is no about page, no contact page and no public social presence to cross-check it against, and the kidora.be marketing site was down when this record was compiled, so everything here comes from the application itself. There is no API, no native mobile app, and the terms confine use to personal education, which rules out teachers repackaging the output. For a secondary or university student in the EU who wants their own notes turned into structured revision, Kidora is a credible and inexpensive option. Anyone needing institutional guarantees, integrations or a longer track record should wait and watch.
