Overview

What is SafouAI-Hôtel?

SafouAI-Hôtel is a standalone web application that brings revenue management to hotels too small, too busy or too wary to deploy a conventional RMS. Its publisher, the Swiss company SafouAI Sàrl, frames the product against three complaints it attributes to the market: market monitoring done by hand is slow and incomplete, black-box recommendations are distrusted and therefore ignored, and traditional revenue management systems are expensive, opaque and hard to plug in.

The answer is a single daily briefing. Every morning the dashboard presents four blocks: upcoming local and distant events ranked by their impact on the property; the prices, availability, special offers and restrictions of up to eight competitors chosen by the hotel; a demand estimate scored from 0 to 100 for each arrival date, each score carrying its own explanation; and, for every day of the next twelve months, a recommended reference price. Recommendations arrive with commercial suggestions attached — a minimum length of stay, a closed-to-arrival restriction, an idea for a special offer — and, above all, with a written justification in the vein of the publisher's own example, "+ 18% this weekend thanks to the festival + exceptional weather". The hotelier keeps the last word by configuring a floor price, a ceiling price and an annual average reference price.

What the tool analyses is deliberately forward-looking rather than historical: the hotel's own offering, guest reviews, seasonality, upcoming events, competitor rates and availability, relevant local news and the weather. Competitor data is gathered daily from public listings on the main booking platforms, and the publisher is candid that availability seen on an OTA is a market signal, not a true measure of a rival's occupancy. Event detection is presented as property-specific rather than drawn from a generic worldwide database, and is claimed to cover professional demand — conventions, trade shows, seminars — as well as public gatherings.

Setup is the other half of the pitch: no connection to the property management system is required. The hotel enters its name and city, picks up to eight competitors, and the data is ready the following morning. Each subscription covers one hotel at one location, and the interface is available in English, French, German and Italian.

What it does

  • Recommend an optimal reference price for every day of the next twelve months
  • Justify each recommendation in plain language instead of issuing a bare percentage
  • Detect local and regional events, tourist and professional alike, likely to move occupancy
  • Track the rates, availability, special offers and restrictions of up to eight competing hotels daily
  • Score expected demand from 0 to 100 for each arrival date
  • Suggest commercial restrictions such as minimum length of stay or closed to arrival
  • Surface local news and a two-week weather forecast alongside the figures

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No technical integration at all: nothing to connect, and setup announced in three minutes
  • Every recommendation comes with an explicit justification, which answers the black-box objection head-on
  • A single public price with no quote to request and no hidden tier
  • The hotelier keeps control through a configurable floor, ceiling and annual reference price
  • A twelve-month horizon, where manual monitoring rarely sees beyond a few weeks
  • Event detection targeted at the individual property rather than a generic worldwide database
  • Data hosted in Germany, inside the EU, with the service providers named one by one in the privacy policy

Cons

  • No PMS or channel manager integration: recommended rates must be re-entered by hand every day, a burden the publisher itself acknowledges
  • That integration is only on the roadmap, and conditioned on finding a pilot hotel with the provider concerned
  • One plan and one price, whatever the size of the property, with no tier for very small or larger hotels
  • Neither a free plan nor a free trial: the only way in is a demonstration or a paid subscription
  • Hard limits built into the plan: eight tracked competitors, and one subscription per hotel and location
  • Sign-up is open in ten countries only, and no public API or mobile application is offered
  • No published data processing agreement, no Article 27 EU representative and no designated data protection officer

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how SafouAI-Hôtel handles your data.

GDPR overview

Compliance is claimed explicitly and in some detail. The privacy policy, effective 8 September 2025, states that it complies with the Swiss FADP and, where applicable, the EU/EEA GDPR and the UK GDPR. It lists legal bases — contract, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligation — enumerates data subject rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, and names the supervisory authorities to complain to: the FDPIC in Switzerland, a local authority in the EEA, the ICO in the United Kingdom. Transfers outside these areas rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses with Swiss and UK addenda. Two gaps deserve naming: no EU representative under Article 27 is designated, although the publisher is established outside the Union, and no data processing agreement is published or offered.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of service the customer keeps every right in its own Customer Data and merely grants SafouAI a licence to process it in order to run the service. Outputs — reports, dashboards, alerts and recommendations — may be used internally both during and after the subscription term. SafouAI, for its part, retains all rights in the service, its software, its models and its datasets. For account data each party acts as an independent controller, and the privacy policy states plainly that personal data is not sold. One clause deserves attention: SafouAI may use the customer's name and logo as a client reference unless the customer opts out.

Reuse rights

Customers may reuse the Outputs internally, during and after the subscription term, without asking permission: internal reporting is expressly allowed. The boundary is external circulation. The terms forbid publishing or broadly disseminating the pricing intelligence and recommendations surfaced by the service, and equally forbid reselling it, using it to build a competing product, or copying, modifying and reverse-engineering it. The licence granted is non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable, limited to the customer's internal business purposes. Public web content displayed inside the product — events, competitor offers — is described as public information rather than the customer's own data.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Retention is stated by category. Account data is kept for the life of the account, after which logs and records are typically held for a further twelve to twenty-four months. Payment and billing records follow Swiss law and are kept for roughly ten years. Support records are normally retained for twenty-four months after a case is closed, and analytics data for twelve to twenty-four months before being aggregated or de-identified. The publisher reserves the right to keep data longer where the law requires it or to establish or defend legal claims, after which the data is deleted or irreversibly de-identified. Customers may request erasure by writing to the contact address published in the privacy policy.

Hosting summary

Data is processed and stored primarily in the European Union, in Germany, at the Nuremberg datacentre of Hetzner Online GmbH, which supplies the virtual servers used for compute and storage. The publisher states that this server meets ISO 27001:2022 security requirements — a property of the hosting infrastructure, not a certification claimed by SafouAI itself. An independent network check is consistent with the policy: the site resolves to an address geolocated in Nuremberg on Hetzner's network. Support activities may involve Switzerland, the EEA or the United Kingdom, and any transfer beyond those areas relies on EU Standard Contractual Clauses with Swiss and UK addenda; Stripe and Google operate globally under their own transfer mechanisms. Declared security measures include encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access, multi-factor authentication on administrative systems, audit logging, backups and vulnerability management. The contract is governed by Swiss law, with the courts of the Canton of Vaud holding exclusive jurisdiction.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting SafouAI-Hôtel.

  • Recommendations are advisory only: the terms place the final pricing decision, and its consequences, entirely on the hotel
  • Leaning on a daily automated recommendation can quietly erode a manager's own feel for the market, which is the hardest skill to rebuild
  • The underlying data comes from public web sources that can change without notice, and accuracy is expressly not warranted
  • Availability seen on booking platforms is not a competitor's real occupancy; reading it as such invites confident but wrong conclusions
  • Manual re-entry of rates every morning invites typing errors and silent drift between the recommended and the published price
  • Algorithmically aligning prices on a tracked set of competitors raises competition-law questions a hotelier should consider
  • The publisher is a very small company and its liability is capped at the fees paid over the preceding twelve months
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low, and deliberately so. No technical skill is required and nothing has to be connected: the terms confirm the application does not need access to the hotel's internal systems. Three actions cover the whole setup — create the account with the hotel and its city, pick up to eight competitors, and wait until the next morning, when the data is ready. The publisher announces three minutes. The effort is not at the start but in daily use, since recommended rates must be re-entered by hand in the PMS or channel manager.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does SafouAI-Hôtel actually do?
It is a lightweight revenue management application for hotels. Each morning it delivers a dashboard with the local events likely to affect demand, the rates and restrictions of up to eight competitors, a demand score for every arrival date and a recommended reference price for each of the next twelve months — every recommendation carrying a written justification.
How much does it cost, and is there a free trial?
The service is sold as one plan at EUR 200.00 per month excluding VAT for a single hotel, or CHF 200.00 per month for customers established in Switzerland. There is neither a free plan nor a free trial: the entry point is a demonstration or a paid subscription.
Do I have to connect it to my property management system?
No. It is a standalone web application and the terms of service state that it does not require any connection to the hotel's internal IT systems. Configuration is limited to the hotel's identity and location, plus the competitors to be tracked.
Are the recommended prices pushed into my PMS automatically?
Not today. Rates have to be re-entered manually in the PMS or channel manager. The publisher acknowledges the operational burden and places PMS and channel manager integrations on its roadmap, noting that providers generally require a pilot hotel already using their solution before an integration can be built.
How many competitors can I track, and how far ahead does it look?
Up to eight competing hotels, and recommendations cover every day of the next twelve months. Both limits are set by the plan itself.
Where do the competitor prices come from and how often are they refreshed?
They are collected daily from publicly available information on the main online booking platforms. The publisher is explicit that availability observed on those platforms may differ from a hotel's real availability, and treats it as a market signal rather than a measure of a competitor's actual occupancy.
Where is my data hosted?
Data is processed and stored primarily in the European Union, in Germany, at Hetzner's Nuremberg datacentre; the publisher states the server meets ISO 27001:2022 security requirements. Payments are handled by Stripe and sign-in by Google, both acting as independent controllers, and both are named in the privacy policy along with the hosting provider.
Does the tool guarantee a revenue increase?
No. The publisher explicitly refuses to promise a uniform uplift, describes its recommendations as advisory, and provides the service "as is" without warranting accuracy. Final pricing decisions remain entirely the hotel's responsibility.
Which languages and which countries are supported?
The interface is available in English, French, German and Italian. Sign-up is currently open to businesses established in ten countries: Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Congo, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Morocco and Greece.
Conclusion

Should you pick SafouAI-Hôtel?

SafouAI-Hôtel makes three unusually clear choices, and they hold together. It refuses integration, so a hotel can be running the day after signing up. It refuses opacity, attaching a written justification to every recommendation rather than a bare percentage. And it refuses the quote-based sale that dominates this market, publishing one price for one plan — EUR 200.00 per month excluding VAT, or CHF 200.00 in Switzerland — with the limits printed alongside it.

The cost is equally clear, and the publisher does not hide it: with no link to the property management system, recommended rates must be typed in by hand every morning. For a hotel that intends to follow the advice regularly that is a real daily task, and the promised integrations remain a roadmap item conditioned on finding a pilot property. The single plan is generous for a mid-sized independent and expensive for a very small one; eight competitors and one property per subscription are firm ceilings.

On data protection the picture is better than average for a company this size: hosting in Germany, service providers named one by one, retention periods stated per category, and the customer keeping its rights over its own data. The gaps are worth knowing before signing — no published data processing agreement, no EU representative designated under Article 27 although the publisher sits outside the Union, and a privacy policy left unrevised for a year while the terms were updated.

The honest summary is the one the publisher gives itself: this complements a chain-grade RMS, it does not replace one. For an independent hotel that wants to see a festival coming four months out and understand why a price should move, it is a proportionate and legible tool. For anyone needing automation, multi-property coverage or guaranteed results, it is not.
