From a prompt, Mobirise AI returns four design variants at once, differing in layout, palette and typography, then generates structure, copy, images and video. Image-to-website works the other way round: a screenshot, a mockup or a hand-drawn sketch is analysed for structure, colours and typography, then rebuilt as a working page. Editing continues conversationally, alongside a one-click redesign, a content improver, a neural translator and automatic SEO tools. On the AI side, hosting is included with a domain provided, DNS and SSL handled automatically, and a custom domain can be connected instead.
Everything rests on Bootstrap 5 and is mobile-first by default, and the output is ordinary HTML, CSS and JavaScript tied to no platform: "Don't be a hostage to just one platform or service provider. GDPR overview
The commitment is explicit but thin. The privacy policy states: "We will use the information we collect about you in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)." Section 4 warns that data may be stored, processed and transferred outside your country of residence, to servers or authorised providers in the United States or the European Economic Area, consent being given by submitting the data. Section 5 offers deletion of personal data on request by email to support@mobirise.com, and deleting the account erases everything with no restoration. Section 7 makes the same address the channel for questions, complaints and vulnerability reports. The terms set a minimum age of 16. Nothing else is published: no named data protection officer, no Article 27 representative, no data processing agreement, no formal sub-processor list and no effective date on the policy. The publisher is established in the Netherlands, so inside the EU.
Who owns the data?
You keep what you bring. Section 3 of the terms states: "You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content." In exchange, the same section grants Mobirise a worldwide licence to host, reproduce, modify, publish and distribute that content in order to operate, promote and improve the Services. AI output is treated differently: section 9.3 says "AI Content cannot be exclusively owned by any individual User, as similar content may be generated for others." You may still use it freely, commercially and in client projects, but reselling or redistributing an AI Design in reusable form, as a theme or template, is forbidden. Suggestions and feedback sent to Mobirise may be used without restriction or compensation.
Reuse rights
The privacy policy lists what is collected: contact details, session data (IP address, location, device, operating system, browser, screen resolution, language, internet provider, referrer), order data and any third-party account you connect, such as PayPal, Google or Facebook. No card details are collected or stored; payments run through PayPal, 2checkout and Avangate. The stated purposes are operating and developing the service, personalisation, support, notifications and promotional messages you can unsubscribe from, protection of the company's interests, and legal compliance. On the AI side, the terms say "We store user prompts anonymously for research, quality control, and service improvements without linking them to identifiable individuals", and that Mobirise may store and use generated content for improvement, demonstration and promotion. Generation runs on named third parties: "including OpenAI, Mistral, Anthropic, xAI". Section 9.5 asks users not to enter identifying personal data, such as names, addresses, financial or medical details, into prompts. Content you generate can be reused without asking permission, in non-commercial and commercial work alike.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Mobirise publishes little about where data lives. The privacy policy states that "Personal information that you submit through the Services may be stored, processed and transferred to countries other than where you live, for example, to our servers or our authorized service providers in the United States of America or the European Economic Area (EEA)." Submitting the data counts as consent to those transfers, and the company commits to reasonable efforts to process it securely in line with the policy. No hosting provider is named, no region or data centre is specified, and no security certification is published. On the AI side, hosting for published sites is included, with DNS and SSL handled automatically and again no location stated. The marketing site itself sits behind Cloudflare, on the anycast address 104.26.11.47 resolving to a United States node, which describes the front end rather than where customer data is stored. The publisher is established in the Netherlands, which does not by itself settle the question.

- Parts of the site have aged: the About page reads "Updated May 13, 2022" with a 2022 copyright, its Google Play link returns 404, copyright years differ between pages, and the domain's first archive capture in 2005 predates the 2015 founding date the publisher itself claims.
