GDPR overview
There is no mention of the GDPR anywhere on the site. A search across every page collected, in text and in raw HTML, returns zero occurrences of GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2 or ISO 27001. No EU representative under Article 27 is designated, no Data Protection Officer is named, no Data Processing Agreement is offered, and no list of subprocessors is published. The privacy policy does grant rights of access, correction, deletion and objection to direct marketing, but frames them as depending on your jurisdiction rather than on European law, and routes every request through a single address, support@mootion.com. Deletion is only possible by also deleting the account and the subscription. The company is incorporated in Hong Kong and hosts data in the United States, with international transfers treated as consented to through use of the service.
Who owns the data?
Ownership is split in two. You keep whatever rights you already held in the material you upload, and Mootion states that the models, videos, images and files produced from it belong to you, subject to its ownership of the platform's own underlying assets. In exchange, submitting anything grants Mootion a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free licence, sub-licensable through multiple tiers, to host, store, transfer, reproduce and adapt that material, and to use it and the data derived from it to improve the service. Feedback is assigned on the same perpetual terms. One caveat: the FAQ separately describes generated content as sitting under a Creative Commons 4.0 licence, which does not sit comfortably beside the ownership clause.
Reuse rights
Yes. Under the terms, what comes out of your input is yours to use, including commercially, without asking Mootion for permission, and the FAQ confirms that the AI music library is royalty-free and cleared for commercial use. You can download the finished video or export the whole project as a .zip containing scripts, images and clips, which keeps the door open to finishing the edit in another tool. Two limits deserve attention. Mootion's own pre-existing intellectual property embedded in the output is licensed to you rather than transferred. And the FAQ's reference to a Creative Commons 4.0 licence would imply attribution duties that the ownership clause never mentions. Publishing to a third-party platform also stays subject to that platform's own rules, which you warrant you respect.
