GDPR overview

Checklens states GDPR compliance explicitly, both in the Checkscan FAQ and on its technology page, and backs it with three concrete arguments: a privacy by design approach, dedicated data protection team members, and local on-premise processing. Anonymisation is automatic: personal identifiers such as eyes, ears and the whole face, along with visible sensitive data like bank card details, are replaced by blurred areas that Checklens says are unreadable by a human or a recognition system. It also cites a "Trustworthy AI Technology" commendation from the Austrian Republic's digitalisation funding programme, which is a distinction and not a certification. The privacy policy, dated 26 January 2022, lists the rights of information, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, and cites Regulation (EU) 2016/679 alongside national texts.
