PostingCat
PostingCat is a social media scheduler that pairs one shared calendar with AI drafting, client workspaces and external approvals. Agencies, community managers and creators publish to eight-plus networks, with unlimited posting under fair use and a permanent free plan.
What is PostingCat?
PostingCat is a browser-based social media scheduler published from Barcelona, Spain, that folds three jobs into one workspace: planning and publishing posts, drafting them with AI, and reporting on how they performed. You work in a calendar with daily, weekly and monthly views, drag and drop to reschedule, preview each post, and set channel-specific options so a single piece of content can be tuned per network before it goes out. Supported destinations are Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn profiles and Pages, Facebook Pages, X (Twitter), YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky, Threads, Dribbble and Reddit.
The headline claim is unlimited posting, and it has real edges: X and YouTube are excluded, and the whole offer sits under a Fair Use Policy the vendor enforces at its own discretion. X is capped at zero posts a month on the free tier, 250 on Professional and 2,500 on Agency.
The AI layer has four parts — an advanced post generator that researches a topic or a set of links on the web before writing, contextual autocompletions, a chat assistant that can draft and schedule through conversation, and text-to-image generation. Each one carries a published monthly quota per plan, which is unusually transparent. A built-in image editor with templates, text overlays, filters, per-network size presets and a brand asset library is pitched as a replacement for a separate design subscription; a video editor is still announced as coming soon.
Agency plumbing is the second differentiator. Workspaces isolate each client's channels, calendars, drafts, media and approvals; roles run Superadmin, Admin and Member with activity logs; and external approvals let a client comment and sign off through a public link without an account. Analytics reports impressions, reach, video views, follower growth, engagement, audience demographics and active hours — but only on Facebook, LinkedIn Pages, YouTube, Pinterest and Threads. Reports export to PDF and CSV and can be emailed on a schedule.
Around the product sit thirteen free tools that need no account, a paid human services arm called PostingCat Partners, and a public API on both paid plans.

When to use PostingCat / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if PostingCat is the right fit.
When to use PostingCat
- Marketing agencies juggling several client accounts, who need isolated workspaces, member roles and activity logs instead of shared passwords
- Community managers running many branded profiles from one calendar — the vendor targets them with a dedicated page and a CM50 promo code
- Creators and solo operators publishing at high volume on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest who want to keep the monthly bill low
- Small teams that need a client sign-off loop, where reviewers comment and approve through a secure link without creating an account
- Local businesses and service firms — restaurants, gyms, estate agents, clinics, law practices, online coaches — that keep social media in-house
When not to use PostingCat
- Heavy X (Twitter) publishers: the free plan allows zero X posts per month, Professional 250 and Agency 2,500
- Enterprise buyers who need contractual guarantees, since no DPA is published and no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is claimed
- Teams that report on Instagram, TikTok or X, because analytics covers only Facebook, LinkedIn Pages, YouTube, Pinterest and Threads
- Mobile-first users, as PostingCat ships no iOS or Android app and runs only in a browser
- Organisations beyond five seats, the ceiling on the top Agency plan, and anyone under 18, who is barred by the terms
How to use PostingCat
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create a free account on the web app — no credit card is requested
- Connect your social accounts; each connected account counts as one channel
- Pick or create a workspace, typically one per client or brand
- Write the post yourself, or have the AI generate it from a topic or a set of links
- Adjust wording and media per network, then preview the result
- Choose a date and time, or accept the AI's recommended posting slot
- Drag and drop inside the calendar to reshuffle the schedule
- Send a secure approval link when a client or stakeholder has to sign off
- Let PostingCat publish automatically and notify you by email
- Read the analytics dashboard, then export or schedule client reports
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Agency features — isolated workspaces, roles, external approvals — from 12.49 USD a month
- A genuinely usable permanent free plan: two channels, one workspace, analytics included, no card required
- Broad network coverage for the price, including Bluesky, Threads, Pinterest, Dribbble and Reddit
- AI quotas published plan by plan rather than hidden behind a vague 'AI included' claim
- Built-in image editor that removes the need for a separate design subscription
- Public API available from the entry paid plan, at 300 posts a month
- EU-established publisher: Barcelona address, Spanish governing law, GDPR and Spanish data protection law cited by name
Cons
- 'Unlimited' excludes X and YouTube and is governed by a discretionary fair use policy
- No analytics for Instagram, TikTok or X — coverage stops at five networks
- No iOS or Android app; the product is browser-only
- An API is sold by tier, yet no public documentation for it exists
- Thin data governance: no DPA, no security certification, no declared hosting country, no training opt-out
- Refunds are discretionary, billing complaints must be raised within seven days, and liability is capped at 100 EUR
- No About or contact page, no named executive, and a single email address for legal, GDPR and support
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free plan is available at no cost and requires no credit card. The cheapest paid tier is Professional at 12.49 USD per month on annual billing, or 14.99 USD per month when billed monthly. Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how PostingCat handles your data.
GDPR overview
Implementation is documented but light. The privacy policy, last updated 12 January 2026, cites Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 by name, identifies PostingCat as data controller, sets out three legal bases — consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interest — and enumerates six rights: access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection and restriction. Rights are exercised by email, with a copy of an identity document. Security is described as TLS in transit, encryption at rest, restricted database access with monitoring and periodic audits. The terms add a Spanish legal notice under Law 34/2002 and place disputes under Spanish law before the courts of Barcelona. What is absent matters as well: no Data Processing Agreement, no formal sub-processor list, no named DPO or dedicated privacy address, and no security certification. No Article 27 representative is designated, which is consistent with an EU-established publisher.
Who owns the data?
You keep ownership of everything you upload. Section 8.1 of the terms states that you retain ownership of your User Content, subject to the licence in section 5.1 — a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right for PostingCat to host, store, reproduce, transmit, publicly display and distribute that content, plus technical reformatting, solely to operate and improve the service and to deliver posts to the networks you connect. AI outputs count as your User Content too. Two carve-outs deserve attention: feedback and suggestions fall under a perpetual, irrevocable licence to PostingCat, and any PostingCat-hosted URL, subdomain or approval link remains the vendor's property, revocable at any time.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the terms restricts what you do with your own posts, drafts or AI outputs: they remain your User Content, and you may republish or repurpose them anywhere without asking permission. What the vendor may do is set out in the privacy policy. It collects account details, data from connected social accounts including analytics, the media you upload, usage data and technical data such as IP address and device, and processes them to deliver the service, manage accounts, publish content, improve the product and send marketing — on consent, contractual necessity or legitimate interest. PostingCat states it does not sell personal data. Data reaches named providers: Render with PostgreSQL for databases, Cloudflare for media storage, Stripe for payments and AI services such as OpenAI. Google and YouTube data is handled under Google's API Services User Data Policy and is never shared with third parties for marketing.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
PostingCat names its infrastructure providers but never states a jurisdiction. The privacy policy says databases run on Render using PostgreSQL, and section 6.1 of the terms adds Cloudflare for media storage and AI services such as OpenAI. Google and YouTube data is stored the same way, under Google's API Services User Data Policy. No country, region or data centre is identified anywhere on the site, so an EU-only storage commitment cannot be inferred from the fact that the publisher is Spanish. Security is described in general terms: encryption in transit over SSL/TLS and at rest, restricted database access with monitoring, and periodic security reviews. There is no trust or security page, no Data Processing Agreement, and no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification claimed. The site resolves behind Cloudflare on an anycast address, which says nothing about where content actually sits. Buyers with a data residency requirement will have to ask directly.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting PostingCat.
- The unlimited promise has edges: X and YouTube are excluded and fair use is enforced at the vendor's discretion, so a burst of automated volume can be throttled without notice
- Prices shown by default assume an annual commitment; paying monthly costs roughly 20% more, 14.99 USD instead of 12.49 and 59.99 instead of 50.00
- Automated publishing makes it easy to keep a calendar full while thinking less about whether any of it deserves to be read — scheduled consistency is not a strategy
- AI drafts are plausible by design and the terms place review entirely on you, so unchecked output can carry factual errors or infringe third-party rights in your brand's name
- Approval links are public: anyone holding one can see the content, so unpublished client campaigns should be shared with that in mind
- You keep ownership of your content, but the licence granted is broad, and any PostingCat-hosted approval page or subdomain stays the vendor's and is revocable at any time
- There is no documented way to exclude your content from model training, and free-plan features can be changed or withdrawn under section 4.4 of the terms
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Sign-up is free and online, no card required, and there is nothing to install — no plugin, extension or desktop client. Getting started means connecting each social account through its own authorisation flow, then choosing a workspace. The only technical component is the public API on paid plans, whose terms require account-bound keys, handling of HTTP 429 responses and exponential backoff, and which ships without public documentation. The main thing to grasp before subscribing is the channel count: one connected account equals one channel, and plans cap them at 2, 10 or 50.

Should you pick PostingCat?
PostingCat sells an unusual ratio: agency plumbing at creator prices. Isolated client workspaces, member roles, activity logs and an approval loop that clients use without an account normally sit behind far more expensive subscriptions, and here they start at 12.49 USD a month. The AI layer is equally concrete — post generation with web research, autocompletions, a chat assistant, image generation — and every quota is published plan by plan rather than hidden behind 'AI included'.
Three reservations should shape the decision. First, the word unlimited does the marketing work but excludes X and YouTube and sits under a fair use policy enforced at the vendor's discretion; X is capped at zero posts a month on the free plan and 250 on Professional, so anyone whose practice centres on X should look elsewhere. Second, analytics covers only Facebook, LinkedIn Pages, YouTube, Pinterest and Threads — Instagram, TikTok and X are missing, precisely where most creators need numbers. Third, data governance is light for a procurement process: no Data Processing Agreement, no SOC 2 or ISO 27001, no declared hosting country, and no documented way to keep your content out of model training.
The publisher is a small, young operation. The terms give a Barcelona address, Spanish governing law and Barcelona courts, and the privacy policy cites the GDPR alongside Spain's Organic Law 3/2018. Yet there is no About page, no named executive, no official social account linked from the site, and one email address handles legal, GDPR and support. The domain was registered in November 2024 and first archived a month later.
For agencies, community managers, creators and small in-house teams watching the monthly bill, PostingCat is a serious and well-priced option. For enterprise buyers needing contractual and audit guarantees, it is not yet the right tool.
