What is Coommit?
Coommit is a collaborative meeting workspace published by TAAO, Inc., a Delaware C-Corporation, and presented as the video workspace for teams and AI agents. Its unit of work is not the call but the room: a persistent space that stays open between meetings, built around an infinite canvas that autosaves and comes back exactly as it was left.
HD video sits directly on that canvas, next to text zones, images, sketches, tasks, task groups, polls, charts, diagrams, connectors and freehand drawing. Files live there too: PDFs, documents, video, Figma boards, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, YouTube. A live shared Chrome browser can be dropped into the room and handed over for remote control, and webcam gestures let participants point, select, grab and zoom out without touching the keyboard.
Echo is the AI agent present on every call. It captures decisions, assigns tasks, writes structured recaps and action plans, restructures the board, answers questions while the meeting is running, and keeps a room memory — brain notes — from one session to the next. Echo runs on no in-house model: it is bring your own key, on an Anthropic, OpenAI or Google Gemini key that you supply, and without a key it simply refuses to run. Real-time English and French transcription comes from Google Cloud Speech-to-Text, and Echo's spoken replies from Google Cloud Text-to-Speech.
Guests join through a link, with no account, no installation, no extension and no notetaker bot entering the call. Recaps export to Slack or Notion in one click, while Google Calendar and Calendly can open a room automatically for each event.
For developers, Coommit Connect v1 exposes 64 REST endpoints, 41 canvas actions, 15 MCP tools and 10 scopes. A single room-creation call carrying an actions array builds a fully populated room, and an external agent such as Claude Code or Claude Desktop connects with a scoped key to prepare the canvas before the meeting and execute assigned work afterwards, under real guardrails: dry runs by default on anything that reaches a human, idempotency keys on writes, spend caps counted per account, and logged refusals. The product is explicitly declared beta in its own terms.

GDPR overview
Implementation is concrete, and stated in detail. The home page claims to be GDPR-compliant, with US and EU hosting, and the privacy policy devotes a full section to EU, UK, EEA and Swiss residents: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a local authority, with a 30-day response commitment and identity verification for sensitive requests. Legal bases are spelled out — contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligation. Account deletion is self-service and triggers an immediate hard-delete cascade. International transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and on EU-US Data Privacy Framework certifications; incidents are notified without undue delay and within 72 hours where required; subprocessors are published region by region. Two gaps remain: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, although the database and file storage sit in Belgium, and no data processing agreement is published or offered.
Who owns the data?
Section 6 of the terms is explicit: canvas elements, transcripts, recordings, brain notes, files and messages remain your content, and TAAO, Inc. claims no ownership. You grant Coommit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, display, technically adapt and analyse it, solely to operate the service, improve its reliability, security and performance, and comply with the law. That licence ends when you delete the content or the account, except for legally required billing records; feedback you send is licensed perpetually and free of charge. The publisher states it never sells your data and never shares it for advertising: sharing is limited to subprocessors, the other participants in a room, legal obligations, harm prevention and a business transfer.
Reuse rights
You can reuse whatever you produce in Coommit without asking anyone: ownership stays with you, and the home page states you may export or permanently delete your data at any time — recaps go to Slack or Notion in one click, and the API returns canvas content and board screenshots. On the publisher's side, use is deliberately narrow. Coommit trains no models of its own and operates none; it orchestrates calls to the provider whose key you supply. When you query Echo, it sends the relevant transcript excerpts, the current canvas state, your request and Coommit's system prompt over TLS to that provider, with no added identifiers. Your Anthropic, OpenAI or Gemini key is stored AES-encrypted, decrypted in memory only for the duration of the relay, and never logged; with no key configured, Echo does not run at all, because there is no Coommit-owned fallback. Call audio is streamed to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text under enterprise contracts that forbid training on customer audio, and is never persisted on Coommit's infrastructure. One caveat is stated by the publisher itself: a free-tier Google AI Studio key allows Google to use your prompts to improve its models, and a warning is displayed when such a key is pasted. Google user data from Calendar or Drive is never used to develop or train AI models, aggregated or anonymised. Analytics are limited to aggregated Google Analytics 4 usage metrics, with no advertising network and no advertising cookie.

Hosting summary
Coommit runs entirely on Google Cloud Platform. The contracting entities are Google LLC (Mountain View, California) and, for European Union users, Google Ireland Limited (Dublin). The application itself runs on Cloud Run in us-central1 (Iowa, United States), while the PostgreSQL database and the file storage sit in europe-west1 (Belgium); a europe-west9 region is named for Gemini Live, without the site naming its country. The consequence, stated by the publisher, is that a large part of the data lives in the European Union by default even though the application servers are American. EU-to-US transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and by EU-US Data Privacy Framework certifications where the subprocessors hold them, and connecting a bring-your-own-key credential to a US provider requires explicit consent. The domain itself resolves to an anycast Google node registered in the United States. Strict per-room tenant isolation is advertised, but no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is claimed.

- Account deletion is immediate and irreversible with no grace period, while encrypted backups may still hold data for up to 35 days
- No data processing agreement is published: ask for one before processing sensitive personal data, and clear the gap between the home page (TLS 1.3, AES-256) and the privacy policy (TLS 1.2+, Google Cloud default storage encryption) before buying on security grounds
