Epsillion is document automation software sold as Epsillion Publisher by Epsillion Software Limited, a publisher whose site carries a 2010-2026 copyright and whose parent company is InvertAlert Software Limited. The principle fits in three sentences on the home page: Model in Excel. Write in Word. Publish everywhere. The product ships as add-ins for the Excel and Word ribbons plus a desktop application, with an API also advertised on the home page.
The mechanics are deterministic rather than generative. Every number, table and graph in a document is linked to its source — an Excel spreadsheet, a database or a website — and a single click refreshes the whole document with the latest data. Formatting is fully automated: image positions, font sizes, heading numbering, table of contents. References to chapters, images, charts, clauses and pages renumber themselves, footnotes are handled automatically, and variables defined once can be reused in many places yet changed in one. Conditions held in Excel drive dynamic sections, paragraphs and sentences, which is what makes batch production of hundreds or thousands of personalised documents possible. Output goes to Word, PDF, presentations, web pages, e-mails and Kindle books from the same sources, and any external file that exports to PDF, JPG, PNG or EMF is picked up by dropping it into the project folder. A Lightning Mode is advertised at up to ten times the processing speed, and PDFs can be signed.
AI is a secondary, optional extra, introduced in a February 2026 blog post: it describes a table or a chart automatically and rewrites bullets as paragraphs without leaving Epsillion. The publisher's stated posture is cautious — hallucinations mean a human still has to read what comes out.

GDPR overview
The terms include a section headed GDPR Compliance carrying three commitments: the web server collects, stores and shares no personally identifiable information; user-uploaded content is deleted automatically 30 days after upload; and deletion can be performed more frequently on request. A right of access is honoured by supplying, on request, a download of all data the user holds on Epsillion's servers. One address handles every data query or complaint, support@epsillion.com, with a reply announced within one to two days and resolution sought within fourteen days. Beyond that the documents are silent: no Article 27 EU representative, no named data protection officer, no data processing agreement, no list of sub-processors and no declared hosting country or region. Disputes go before the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
Who owns the data?
Epsillion's terms assign the intellectual property in the website and the software — design, text, graphics, source code — to Epsillion or to its licensors. They say nothing at all about ownership of the documents, spreadsheets and data a customer uploads or produces, and no clause claims a transfer of rights over customer content, nor a licence for Epsillion to reuse, publish or share it. The one explicit commitment on the customer's side concerns retrieval: at any moment and on request, Epsillion will provide a download of all the data a user owns that sits on its servers. Silence, rather than a written guarantee, is what protects customer content here.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the published terms limits what a customer may do with the documents and data it processes through Epsillion, and no permission step is described anywhere. On the publisher's own side, Epsillion commits never to sell a user's name, phone number, address, billing information or any other personal detail, sets no cookies, and states that its web server neither collects, stores nor shares personally identifiable information. Names, e-mail addresses and payment details are held by PCI-compliant payment processors, with no card data on Epsillion servers; e-mail addresses serve to authenticate users. Training AI models on customer data is never mentioned — neither claimed nor ruled out — and the AI option ships with no data policy of its own.

Epsillion declares no hosting country and no hosting region anywhere on its site. The terms refer to Epsillion's software servers and to Epsillion's webserver without ever saying where they stand. Payment details are held by unnamed PCI-compliant payment processors rather than by Epsillion, and no card data sits on its own servers. Outside anything the site declares, a technical check shows the domain resolving to 35.212.13.229, an address geolocated in the United States on AS43515, Google Ireland Limited: that is DNS resolution for the website, not a statement about where customer documents are processed or stored. Contractually, the jurisdiction is British Columbia, Canada, and the identity given in the terms is Epsillion Software Limited, with InvertAlert Software Limited as parent company. Buyers with data-residency requirements will have to obtain the hosting location in writing from the vendor, because the published documents do not answer the question.
