GDPR overview
The privacy policy in force since 25 February 2026 applies the GDPR regime without ever using the words "GDPR compliant". It lists the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection or restriction, and withdrawal of consent, states that these apply to EU/EEA users, and points them to their supervisory authority. Standard Contractual Clauses are invoked for transfers outside the user's jurisdiction, and breach notification is promised where the law requires it. California residents are handled separately under CCPA/CPRA. Rights are exercised by email. Several instruments are absent: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is published or offered, and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed anywhere on the site.
Who owns the data?
Users keep ownership of what they create. The privacy policy states that maps, nodes, connections and chat messages belong to the user, and the terms repeat that ownership of content created on the canvas is retained. In exchange, the publisher takes a licence limited to hosting, storing and processing that content as needed to operate the service. It declares that this material is not used for advertising and is not sold to third parties. Content is exportable before an account is closed. The MyMap brand, software and designs remain the publisher's property, and the licence granted to users lasts only while their account is active.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the terms restricts what a user may do with their own maps or with the material the AI produces for them: ownership of created content is explicitly retained, and no separate permission is required to reuse, publish or commercialise it. Content can be exported before an account is closed, so the work is not locked to the platform. Two limits deserve attention. First, the licence granted to the publisher covers hosting, storage and processing for as long as the account exists. Second, the terms state that AI output is provided for assistance only, is not professional, legal or financial advice, and carries no guarantee of accuracy, completeness or suitability, which places the burden of verification on the user before any downstream use.

The publisher commits to no hosting location. The privacy policy states only that it and its providers operate in multiple regions and that data may be processed in the United States, the European Union or other locations, with Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms used for transfers outside the user's jurisdiction. Two infrastructure providers are named: Supabase for the database, authentication and storage, and Vercel for hosting and serverless functions, which may log requests for security and operational purposes. No data residency option is offered, and no jurisdiction is guaranteed. Encryption in transit via TLS and at rest is claimed, alongside access controls and secure authentication. The domain itself sits behind Cloudflare, so the resolved address is an anycast node and says nothing about where the origin server actually is.
