Outrank
Outrank is an autopilot SEO platform that researches keywords, writes and publishes 1,200-1,700 word articles daily across ten CMS integrations, generates on-brand AI images, and builds authority through its own credit-based backlink exchange network.
What is Outrank?
Outrank is a SaaS platform that automates the whole content side of search engine optimisation, from keyword research through to publication and link building. It is operated by Outrank SAS, a company registered in Paris, and the address contentpie.ai now redirects to it, ContentPie being the earlier name of the same product.
The workflow is built to run unattended. Outrank first analyses your niche, your competitors and your audience, then turns that analysis into a thirty-day content plan built around one key phrase per day. From that plan it writes articles of 1,200 to 1,700 words with proper H2 and H3 structure, meta tags, internal and external links, one cover image and four in-article AI visuals, plus relevant YouTube embeds. Articles can be produced in more than 150 languages and can follow a brand voice learned from pieces you have already published. You pick the cadence, from 8 to 90 articles a month, and the days on which they go live.
Publication is direct. Ten integrations cover WordPress, WordPress.com, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Notion, Ghost, Framer, a server-side-rendered Next.js blog starter and a generic webhook, and Google Search Console is connected as well. Scheduled pieces can be pre-created up to seven days ahead, reviewed, edited by AI or by hand, and sent as CMS drafts rather than published live.
The second pillar is the Backlink Exchange, a network internal to the platform. Sites earn credits by hosting links inside their own generated articles and spend them to place their links elsewhere. Higher Domain Rating earns more credits, credits reset daily, placements sit inside the body text rather than in footers, live links are re-verified, and the whole thing is included in the subscription at no extra cost.
Two variants exist. The e-commerce version syncs a Shopify catalogue, including products, images, variants, categories, availability and product URLs, then writes buying-intent articles that link back to real product pages, with catalogue images reworked into contextual visuals; it is built for stores holding more than 10,000 products. The agency version adds a multi-site dashboard, per-client brand voice and automatic volume discounts. A documented REST API and an npm command-line tool for AI agents complete the product.

When to use Outrank / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Outrank is the right fit.
When to use Outrank
- SaaS founders who need a steady flow of organic traffic without hiring an in-house SEO team
- Marketing agencies running content for several clients from a single multi-site dashboard
- Shopify merchants with large catalogues who want product-led articles linked to real product pages
- Solo entrepreneurs and bloggers who want a publishing cadence they do not have to maintain by hand
- Content teams already working in WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Notion or Framer who want drafts delivered straight into their CMS
When not to use Outrank
- Buyers with formal compliance requirements: the site publishes no GDPR statement, no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list and no hosting location
- SEO practitioners who insist on approving every backlink, since the exchange publishes links automatically with no manual review step
- Organisations that need contractual guarantees on rankings, Domain Rating or traffic, all of which the terms explicitly disclaim
- Teams looking for a permanent free tier or an entry plan below USD 99 per month
- Anyone under 18, who is excluded by article 3 of the terms of use
How to use Outrank
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account on the sign-in page, either with a Google account or through the form
- Enter your website details, target audience and content preferences; the AI scans your URL to map audience and competitors
- Set your brand voice once by sharing articles you have already published
- Let the keyword engine build your list, or chat with the AI to brainstorm and drop your picks onto the content calendar
- Choose your cadence, from 8 to 90 articles a month, and the days on which articles should go live
- Connect your CMS in one click, or configure a webhook for anything the native integrations do not cover
- Enable the Backlink Exchange in your dashboard settings if you want automatic link placements
- Pre-create scheduled articles up to seven days ahead, then read, edit and approve them before publication
- Invite editors to your organisation so the whole team plans and reviews from the same dashboard
- For programmatic use, create an API key from the user menu and call the REST API with a bearer token

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Outrank handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no GDPR information on this site. A full-text and archived-HTML search across every page collected returned no occurrence of GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation or CCPA. No data processing agreement is published or offered, no subprocessor list exists, no retention period is stated and no hosting jurisdiction is named. No Article 27 representative and no data protection officer is designated. The only concrete element is a contact route: the privacy policy, created on 5 January 2024, invites users who wish to exercise their rights to write to support@outrank.so. The silence is worth noting, because the publisher, Outrank SAS, is established in Paris and therefore falls under the GDPR by establishment. Buyers with formal obligations should request this documentation before subscribing.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of use you keep ownership of everything you submit: article inputs, brand material and any other User Contribution remain yours, and you alone are responsible for them. In exchange you grant Outrank SAS a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable and transferable licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, publish, display and distribute that material in connection with operating and improving the service. Everything else on the platform, meaning the software and all content that is not a User Contribution, belongs to Outrank or its licensors. The privacy policy names Outrank SAS, registered in Paris, as the controller responsible for your personal information.
Reuse rights
The terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the service for your own internal business purposes, and state that no other rights are granted. Articles the platform produces are published to your own CMS, so in practice you reuse them freely on your sites; the terms add no separate restriction on that output, but they never expressly assign ownership of it either. Outrank's trademarks may not be used without prior written consent, and scraping or indexing platform content without authorisation is prohibited. On the personal data side, the privacy policy allows sharing with unnamed third-party vendors and service providers, and transfer to an acquirer in a merger, sale of assets or insolvency.

Hosting summary
Outrank publishes no hosting information. Searching the full text and the archived HTML of every page collected returned no hosting country, no region, no data centre, no cloud provider and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001. The privacy policy limits itself to stating that appropriate technical and organisational measures protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and destruction, while conceding that no security system is impenetrable. No subprocessor list is published, and the third-party vendors and service providers named in the sharing clause are never identified. The only technical observation available is that the domain resolves to 172.67.209.114, an anycast Cloudflare node, which describes the edge network and says nothing about where customer data is actually stored. Since the publisher, Outrank SAS, is established in Paris, an EU jurisdiction is plausible but is nowhere confirmed. Anyone with a data residency requirement should ask before subscribing.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Outrank.
- The Backlink Exchange publishes links with no preview step, and the terms make you accept the risk of a search engine penalty and indemnify the publisher for it
- The terms disclaim any warranty that rankings, Domain Rating, traffic or revenue will improve
- The licence you grant over submitted content is perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable and transferable, and outlives your subscription
- Publishing thirty AI articles a month unattended can quietly erode editorial judgement: nobody reads the blog any more, and factual errors reach readers unchecked
- Reputational exposure is real, since a brand is judged on whatever appears under its name, whether or not a human wrote it
- Liability is capped at what you paid over the previous twelve months, and disputes go to individual arbitration with a class action waiver
- With no published retention period and no named hosting jurisdiction, you cannot tell how long your data is kept, or where
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for the standard route. You sign up with a Google account or through a form, enter your site details, target audience and content preferences, and let the AI scan your URL to map audience and competitors. Brand voice is set once from articles you have already published, and WordPress connects in a single click. No SEO or writing skill is required: the service is presented as done-for-you. Developer paths are more demanding, with a generic webhook, a server-side-rendered Next.js starter using a private API key, a Framer plugin, and REST API keys that only organisation admins may create.

Should you pick Outrank?
Outrank makes a clear and coherent offer: for USD 99 a month it takes over the entire content chain of SEO, from keyword research to writing, imagery, publication and link building, and it does so with an unusually broad set of CMS integrations, including Ghost, Framer and a Next.js starter that most competitors ignore. The single flat price, the unlimited seats, the automatic volume discounts and a documented REST API make the offer easy to reason about, and the ability to pre-create articles seven days ahead means the automation need not be blind.
The weaknesses are just as clear, and they are not about features. The publisher is a French company, yet the site carries no GDPR statement, no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list, no hosting jurisdiction and no retention period. There is no about page and no contact page either: one email address and a live chat are the only channels. Those gaps matter less to a solo founder than to a company with a procurement process, and the second group should ask for the missing documents before signing.
The Backlink Exchange deserves separate thought. It is the most distinctive part of the offer and also the most committing: links are published automatically with no approval step, and the terms explicitly transfer the risk of a search engine penalty to the customer, who further agrees to indemnify the publisher. That is a deliberate trade, and it should be made deliberately.
Outrank suits a founder, a small team or an agency that wants published volume and accepts delegating editorial control. It suits a compliance-sensitive buyer far less well. The company is young, its domain having been registered in September 2024, which is worth remembering for a service meant to run unattended for months.
