Valeria HR
Valeria HR is a Spanish AI labour-management agent run through WhatsApp. It files Social Security registrations and terminations, calculates payroll, issues contracts and tax forms, and gives employees self-service access around the clock.
What is Valeria HR?
Valeria HR is an AI labour-management service for companies operating in Spain, published by the Barcelona company LAPSA IA, S.L. The vendor positions it not as software but as an autonomous agent that understands natural language and carries out the human resources tasks a business would otherwise send to a traditional gestoría laboral. The main channel is WhatsApp; an administrative web portal sits behind it.
The functional scope is the full Spanish employment lifecycle. Valeria files registrations, terminations and contract changes with the Social Security system, generates contracts and annexes, runs payroll under the applicable collective agreement, produces severance settlements, handles electronic signature, and files tax forms 111 and 190. Income tax withholding is read directly from the AEAT, including automatic parsing of the Modelo 145. When a garnishment order arrives, the system computes the deduction and applies it to the payslip without manual intervention. Since mid-2026 the certificado de empresa is created with the settlement and uploaded straight to the SEPE Certific@2 platform.
Eight sectors are addressed by name: events, hotels, logistics and transport, retail, private security, hospitality, facility management and education, all chosen for high staff turnover. Employees get a self-service portal through the same WhatsApp thread, covering payslips, current contract, employment history and personal details, with no app to install and no password to remember.
The vendor is unusually open about its operations. For May 2026 it published 9,095 labour movements across 101 active clients, split into 4,425 registrations, 1,482 cancelled registrations and 3,188 terminations, alongside 23,815 messages in 145 sessions. Homepage claims include 90% fewer errors, 80% time saved and three times more employees managed at constant headcount.
A public REST API is documented in OpenAPI 3.0.3 as ValerIA External API v1.0.0, with OAuth2 client-credentials authentication, a separate test environment, and eleven operations covering employees, Social Security movements, access context and file downloads.

When to use Valeria HR / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Valeria HR is the right fit.
When to use Valeria HR
- Spanish SMEs with high staff turnover in hospitality, hotels, logistics, retail, events, private security, facility management or education
- Owner-managers and site supervisors who handle hiring paperwork themselves, with no structured HR department
- Operations teams facing contract peaks such as weekend shifts, one-off event crews and seasonal campaigns
- Field workforces with no desk and no appetite for installing another app, already reachable on WhatsApp
- Labour advisory firms and software partners that want to plug Valeria into their own product through the REST API
When not to use Valeria HR
- Companies operating outside Spain: the product is built on Spanish Social Security, SEPE, AEAT and collective bargaining agreements
- Recruiters looking for candidate screening or scoring, which the vendor states its tool deliberately does not do
- Buyers who need a published price list before talking to anyone: entry runs through a sales demo
- Teams expecting a permanent free tier or a self-service free trial, neither of which is advertised
- Users who want a native mobile app or a browser extension rather than WhatsApp plus a web portal
How to use Valeria HR
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Book a demo from the website; the product is not available for self-service sign-up
- Sign the contract, which triggers the onboarding sequence
- Get an Account Manager assigned to guide the whole setup
- Send the basic company information; company, work centres, collective agreements, headcount and payroll history are loaded automatically
- Activate the employee self-service portals
- Register a new hire by sending a photo of their ID over WhatsApp, then confirming work centre, role and contract type
- Let Valeria locate the Social Security number, generate the contract and send it out for signature
- Send the month's payroll variables over WhatsApp and review the payslips it returns
- Point employees at the same WhatsApp thread to pull their payslips, contract and employment history themselves
- Use the Portal Valeria web interface for documents, IDC and ITA extracts, sick-leave tracking and contract changes
Pros & Cons
Pros
- WhatsApp as the operating channel: nothing to install and no password for field staff
- End-to-end coverage of the Spanish employment lifecycle, including the official filings with Social Security, SEPE and the AEAT
- Regulatory updates applied automatically, illustrated by the vendor's own account of the 2026 contribution order published late in April
- Unusual operational transparency, with monthly volumes, active client counts and message traffic published openly
- A documented public API in OpenAPI format, with a separate test environment for partners
- A free interactive demo available without booking a sales call
- A reasoned, published position on the EU AI Act, plus an appointed DPO and data stated to be stored in the EU
Cons
- No public pricing at all: no pricing page, no amount, no tier, only a relative claim of being up to 50% cheaper than a traditional gestoría
- Entry runs exclusively through a sales demo, with neither a permanent free plan nor a free trial advertised
- Strictly limited to Spain by design
- The published privacy policy covers the website only and is silent on how employee payroll records are processed, which is the sensitive part
- No Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list and no trust or security page anywhere on the site
- Nothing published about AI model training on customer data, nor about any opt-out, and no security certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 is claimed
- Editorial rough edges: the cookie policy still carries other companies' names from a reused template, the help centre shows an unwritten section with an internal working note, and no legal document is dated or versioned
Pricing & Plans
No pricing is published. Valeria HR has no pricing page, and none exists in the sitemap or under any of the usual pricing URLs, so no entry-level amount or currency can be stated. Access runs through a sales demo of 15 to 30 minutes depending on the page. No permanent free plan and no free trial are advertised, although a free interactive demo is available without booking a call. The only pricing statement the vendor makes about itself is comparative: a price up to 50% lower than a traditional gestoría, described as clear and predictable with no surcharges. The euro amounts published in the company's cost comparison article are Spanish market averages for advisory firms and payroll software in general, not Valeria HR's own rates.
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Valeria HR handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is documented but partial. The privacy policy is explicitly grounded in Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI), a Data Protection Officer is appointed at gdpr@valeriahr.com, and the full set of rights is listed: information, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and automated decision-making. Data are said to be stored within the EU in general, with processor contracts, standard contractual clauses or binding corporate rules for transfers outside the EEA. The site claims a TLS certificate with RSA encryption. The vendor also published its EU AI Act position: its WhatsApp agent falls under Article 50 transparency and identifies itself as automated, and is not an Annex III high-risk system since it does not score candidates. Missing: no effective date, no version number, no DPA, no subprocessor list, and no coverage of employee payroll data.
Who owns the data?
The controller is LAPSA IA, S.L. (trading as ValerIA), tax ID B19766534, Calle Rambla del Carmel 76, Ático, 08032 Barcelona. A Data Protection Officer is appointed and reachable at gdpr@valeriahr.com. The privacy policy states data are never sold to third parties and are shared with external service providers only where necessary, under the controller's instructions and for the sole purpose of performing the contract. Users are declared solely responsible for the accuracy of the data they supply. Note the gap: the published policy covers only the website. It says nothing about ownership of the payroll and employee records processed inside the platform, which is where the sensitive data actually sits.
Reuse rights
The published documents describe website data only: contact form submissions, commercial and newsletter communications, cookie navigation data such as IP address and user agent, job application forms and demo requests. The stated legal bases are the data subject's consent and compliance with legal obligations covering fraud prevention, communication with public authorities and third-party claims. Google Analytics 4 is the only cookie named. Nothing in the legal notice or the privacy policy grants or restricts a customer's right to reuse the payroll data, contracts or reports produced inside the platform, and nothing addresses whether that material feeds AI model training. Reuse terms would have to be established in the service contract, which is not public.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
The privacy policy states that data are stored within the European Union in general. Where processing involves an international transfer outside the European Economic Area, the vendor commits to putting the necessary safeguards in place through data processor contracts and, where applicable, binding corporate rules or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. No specific hosting country is named, and no cloud provider is identified in any of the legal documents; the policy directs anyone wanting details about its service providers to gdpr@valeriahr.com. On the security side, the site states it is protected by a TLS certificate with RSA encryption. Two technical observations do not change the picture: the API documentation refers to an Azure Front Door web application firewall, and the marketing site is served from a Google anycast address, neither of which tells you where the application data actually live.

Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Valeria HR.
- The privacy policy covers the website only and never describes how employees' payroll records are handled, so the most sensitive processing in the product is undocumented in public
- No Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list and no security certification are published, which is a real obstacle for a buyer who must justify the choice to their own works council or auditor
- Nothing is said about whether customer data feeds AI model training, and no opt-out mechanism is documented either way
- Delegating filings to an agent is comfortable enough that in-house knowledge of Spanish labour procedure can quietly erode, leaving nobody able to spot an incorrect filing
- Homepage performance claims such as 90% fewer errors or 80% time saved come with no published methodology and should be treated as vendor claims
- The client names and logos shown as testimonials belong to those customers and are not certifications or technical partnerships of the vendor
- The euro figures in the vendor's cost comparison article are Spanish market averages for the sector, not Valeria HR's own rates, and are easy to mistake for a price list
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low on the customer side. There is nothing to install: WhatsApp and a browser are enough, and no training is presented as necessary. Go-live is announced in weeks rather than months, across five steps with a dedicated Account Manager, and since mid-2026 the loading of the company, work centres, collective agreements, headcount and payroll history is automated. The only genuinely technical work is optional: connecting through the REST API, which requires partner OAuth2 credentials and developer time.

Should you pick Valeria HR?
Valeria HR is a deliberately narrow product: one country, one job, one primary channel. That narrowness is also its strongest argument. The depth it reaches in Spanish employment administration, from collective agreements and Social Security filings to the SEPE Certific@2 upload, AEAT withholding and garnishment orders, is not something a generalist HR suite reproduces, and running the whole thing through WhatsApp removes the adoption barrier that usually defeats software aimed at field workforces.
Two things set the vendor apart from the usual early-stage pattern. It publishes real monthly operating volumes rather than marketing metrics, and it ships a genuine OpenAPI-documented REST interface with a separate test environment, which is rare at this size. Its published reasoning on the EU AI Act is more careful than most.
The reservations are just as concrete. Nothing about pricing is public, so a buyer cannot size the commitment without a sales conversation. More seriously for a product that processes payroll, the compliance material is thin: the privacy policy addresses the website and never the employee records inside the platform, there is no Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list, no security certification and no trust page. Small editorial defects, including another company's name left in the cookie policy and an unfinished help-centre section, point to documentation that has not kept pace with the product.
For a Spanish business drowning in high-turnover paperwork, the fit is strong and worth a demo. Take the compliance questions into that conversation, and ask for the service contract terms in writing, since the public documents do not answer them.
