EdgeTier
EdgeTier is an AI conversation analytics platform for high-volume contact centres. Its Explore, Sonar and Coach modules analyse 100% of chat, email and voice interactions in any language, while Ask Spotlight answers questions about that data conversationally.
What is EdgeTier?
EdgeTier is a SaaS customer interaction analytics platform for contact centres, published from Dublin by Killbiller Limited, trading as EdgeTier. It sits on top of the helpdesk, CRM and telephony systems a support operation already runs, among them Zendesk, Salesforce, Genesys, Freshdesk and LivePerson, so no data migration is involved. Where manual quality assurance typically reviews 1-5% of interactions, EdgeTier analyses 100% of conversations in real time, and its multilingual architecture is unified rather than one model per language.
The platform is organised into three separately priced modules. Explore is the unified hub: it tags contact reasons automatically, runs sentiment analysis, produces AI summaries, quantifies how large each theme is and feeds a voice-of-the-customer view. Sonar handles real-time anomaly detection: it learns what normal looks like for the business, then alerts on unusual spikes with the likely root cause and business impact attached. Coach covers AI-assisted quality assurance, with full coverage, customisable scorecards, an AI-generated customer experience score, call recording playback and coaching recommendations. Across all three sits Ask Spotlight, an agentic layer that queries Explore, Sonar and Coach together in natural language, with no SQL required.
EdgeTier publishes outcome claims drawn from its customer base: a 12% fall in contact volume, a 21% rise in CSAT, handling times shortened by 25%, quality assurance running 2.5 times faster and QA coverage up by more than 90%. Implementation is presented as lightweight, with most customers said to be in production within two weeks, supported by a dedicated Onboarding Manager and Customer Success Manager. Named customers include Ryanair, TUI, Holland & Barrett, Novibet, Electric Ireland and Abercrombie & Fitch. The company cites public ratings of 4.9 on Capterra and 4.5 on G2, a place in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Ireland 2024, and coverage in Sifted and Wired.
The positioning is deliberately narrow. This is an analytics and quality layer for large operations, not a tool that answers tickets on an agent's behalf, and the published entry price makes clear that small teams are not the audience.
What it does
- Unify and automatically tag 100% of conversations across every channel and every language
- Detect contact spikes and anomalies in real time, with alerts to Slack, Microsoft Teams or email
- Quantify how often each contact reason occurs and what it costs the business
- Score interactions automatically against customisable quality assurance scorecards
- Query the whole contact history in plain English through Ask Spotlight
- Surface the root cause behind an unusual pattern instead of only flagging it
- Track performance by agent, team and department from full coverage rather than samples
When to use EdgeTier / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if EdgeTier is the right fit.
When to use EdgeTier
- High-volume contact centres handling large daily volumes of chat, email and voice interactions
- CX and support leaders trying to cut contact volume by fixing root causes rather than symptoms
- Quality assurance teams moving from a 1-5% manual sample to 100% interaction coverage
- Multilingual European support operations running 5-10 or more languages simultaneously
- Retail, travel, iGaming, telecoms, utilities, financial services and insurance operations
When not to use EdgeTier
- Small teams and early-stage companies, given an announced entry point of EUR 20,000
- Buyers who want self-service sign-up, since every deal goes through a bespoke quote
- Anyone needing a mobile app or a browser extension, as access is web-only
- Developers looking to build on a documented public API, which EdgeTier does not publish
- Teams wanting a tool that handles tickets for agents rather than analysing what happened in them
How to use EdgeTier
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Run the interactive walkthrough, which is open and needs no form, or book a live demo
- Request access to the demonstration sandbox, which runs on sample data, using a work email
- Use the public ROI calculator to size the expected benefit before entering a sales conversation
- Connect the existing CRM, helpdesk and telephony platforms; no data migration is required
- Let automatic analysis of 100% of conversations begin: contact reasons, sentiment and anomalies
- Configure quality assurance scorecards and coaching workflows with the onboarding team
- Route anomaly alerts to the channels the team already uses: Slack, Microsoft Teams or email
- Sign in to the application at watchtower.edgetier.com for day-to-day work
- Ask Spotlight questions in natural language and generate structured reports from the answers
- Move to operational change, cutting repeat contacts and lifting CSAT, typically live within two weeks
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Covers 100% of interactions where manual quality assurance typically samples only 1-5%
- Priced per interaction rather than per seat, so adding agents does not change the bill
- No feature is said to be locked behind a higher tier
- Implementation consultants are included and a dedicated Customer Success Manager comes as standard
- Go-live claimed within two weeks, with no data migration and 29 named out-of-the-box integrations
- Multilingual by design, with no separate model to maintain for each language
- ISO 27001 certified in May 2024 by the British Assessment Bureau, with a free sample-data sandbox available before any commitment
Cons
- The EUR 20,000 floor is published with no period stated anywhere on the pricing page
- No pricing grid at all: every deal goes through a quote after a sales conversation
- No permanent free plan; the 'try for free' route is a sample-data sandbox, not a trial on your own conversations
- No public API and no developer documentation
- Web-only, with no mobile app and no browser extension
- Twelve-month renewing commitment, with cancellation to be notified 90 days before the term ends
- Trust detail is thinner than the claims: ISO 27001 announced without a certificate number, hosting given only as EU or US with no country or provider named, and no sub-processor list published
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. EdgeTier publishes no pricing table, and says so plainly on its pricing page: No Tables. No Matrix. No most popular tier. The only figure disclosed is a floor, quoted as follows: 'Our plans start at €20,000 and we talk to you about your use cases and your interaction volume and we work out from that number. You pay for what you use.' Pricing is based on monthly interaction volume rather than on the number of seats, and each module, Explore, Sonar and Coach, is priced independently; quota overages are invoiced monthly in arrears. Implementation consultants and a Customer Success Manager are included at no additional cost, and a tailored proposal is promised within 48 hours. One caveat matters: the site states no period for the EUR 20,000 floor. The annual reading recorded on this page is inferred from the terms of service, which provide for renewal terms of twelve months, and is not asserted by the publisher. A free demonstration sandbox with sample data is available on request.
- the offer is assembled from the Explore
- Sonar and Coach modules
- each priced independently
- Ask Spotlight is included within the platform rather than sold as a separate tier
- Free demonstration sandbox with sample data
- granted on request
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how EdgeTier handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete rather than declarative. The publisher is established in Ireland, inside the EU, so no Article 27 representative is required or appointed. The SaaS terms are governed by Irish law with exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts, and define Data Protection Laws as EU Regulation 2016/679. The customer acts as controller and EdgeTier as processor, bound by a data processing agreement. The FAQ states that data is processed in full compliance with the GDPR. A data protection officer is named, Shane Lynn, reachable at info@edgetier.com, and the privacy policy sets out the usual data subject rights. EdgeTier also holds ISO 27001 certification awarded in May 2024 by the British Assessment Bureau, although no certificate number or scope is published.
Who owns the data?
Under the SaaS terms of service the customer keeps control of its own data: 'Client shall be a controller and EdgeTier shall be a processor and each party shall comply with the DPA.' EdgeTier therefore handles contact centre conversations on the customer's instructions and under a data processing agreement, not as an owner. A separate software privacy policy states that the company is the data controller for the information it collects through its own website and marketing activity. The terms also note that once data has been anonymised it is no longer personal data within the meaning of the GDPR. The publisher is Killbiller Limited, trading as EdgeTier, in Dublin.
Reuse rights
EdgeTier states that no data is ever used for model training outside your environment, so customer conversations are not pooled to improve models used by other organisations. A specific clause covering Google Workspace confirms that data obtained through those APIs is not used to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine learning models, is not used for advertising and is not sold on. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and databases are encrypted at rest. It is held in EU or US data centres depending on the customer's location. Because the customer is the controller, it may reuse its own data without seeking EdgeTier's permission; note, however, that no list of sub-processors is published.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
EdgeTier states in its FAQ that customer data is stored securely in EU or US data centres, depending on the organisation's location and its regulatory requirements. The jurisdiction is therefore conditional on the customer, and no single hosting country is committed to; no hosting provider is named either. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and databases are encrypted at rest. The software privacy policy adds that data may be transferred outside the user's own jurisdiction. No list of sub-processors is published anywhere on the site, so the parties involved in processing beyond EdgeTier itself cannot be identified from public sources. The publisher is established in Ireland, which places the contracting entity inside the EU and under Irish law, with a data processing agreement covering the controller-processor relationship. Organisations with strict data residency obligations should have the region, the provider and the sub-processor chain confirmed in writing before signing.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting EdgeTier.
- Corporate identity does not match the brand: the registered company is Killbiller Limited (CRO 549220), trading as EdgeTier, and a search of the Irish register returns no company called EdgeTier at all.
- Founding dates disagree: the company timeline reads 'Founded 2017', while the Irish register records incorporation on 8 September 2014.
- An out-of-date postal address is still in circulation: the home page structured data and the privacy policy show 5-7 Westland Square, Pearse St, Dublin 2, whereas the footer, the terms, the software privacy policy and the register all give The Exchange Buildings, Foster Place, Dublin 2, following a move in 2025.
- The minimum age is contradictory: the software privacy policy sets it at 13, the site's own privacy policy at 18.
- The EUR 20,000 floor is published with no period attached; the annual reading is inferred from the twelve-month renewal terms in the contract, not stated by EdgeTier.
- Security and hosting claims lack supporting detail: ISO 27001 is announced with a certifying body and a date but no certificate number or scope, hosting is given only as EU or US data centres with no country or provider named, no sub-processor list is published, and the no-training commitment is qualified by the words 'outside your environment' with no documented opt-out.
- Gaps in the public footprint are worth knowing: no company LinkedIn, Instagram or YouTube page is published, only founders' personal profiles; api.edgetier.com resolves but returns 404 on every path, including a control path, so no public API is documented; and the /alternative-to-verint/ page carries a title and meta description announcing Chattermill while the body compares Verint.
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. EdgeTier connects natively to the helpdesk, CRM and telephony platforms already in place, with no data migration involved; the company describes implementation as lightweight and completable in hours, with production use typically reached within two weeks. No external consultant and no IT project are said to be required, and a dedicated Onboarding Manager is provided. The real effort is configuration rather than engineering: defining quality assurance scorecards and coaching workflows with the onboarding team, and deciding where anomaly alerts should be routed.

Should you pick EdgeTier?
EdgeTier is a mature offer rather than a new arrival. The legal entity, Killbiller Limited, was registered in Ireland in September 2014, the product has been sold commercially since 2018, and the company reported more than 70 staff in 2025. The positioning is unambiguous, aimed at high-volume contact centres rather than small support teams, and the product is built around that choice.
Its main strength is exhaustiveness. Analysing 100% of interactions in real time, instead of the 1-5% a human quality team can sample, changes what a CX function can actually see: contact reasons are quantified rather than guessed at, anomalies surface as they happen rather than in next month's review, and quality scoring stops depending on which tickets happened to be picked. Charging per interaction rather than per seat is coherent with that, since coverage does not become more expensive as the team grows.
The main reservation is commercial transparency. The entry point of EUR 20,000 is published with no period attached, no pricing grid exists, and everything runs through a bespoke quote. Buyers should also read the contract: the initial term renews in twelve-month blocks and requires 90 days' notice to stop.
On compliance, an Irish establishment inside the EU, a named data protection officer, a clear controller-processor split backed by a DPA and ISO 27001 certification obtained in May 2024 are genuinely reassuring. The supporting detail is thinner than the headline, with no certificate number, no named hosting provider or country beyond EU or US, and no sub-processor list.
In short: a credible, well-integrated analytics layer for large contact centre operations, provided the buyer is comfortable negotiating a five-figure contract without a published price list.
