LoyJoy
LoyJoy is a German enterprise platform whose AI agents resolve customer service and sales requests end to end, in chat and on the phone. Business teams build them no-code, on BPMN process orchestration and EU-only hosting.
What is LoyJoy?
LoyJoy is an enterprise platform for what its publisher calls agentic customer service and sales: AI agents that resolve a request from beginning to end, in chat and on the phone, instead of answering FAQs along a fixed decision tree. It is built by LoyJoy GmbH in Münster, Germany, founded in 2018 by Ulf Loetschert and Dr. Ulrich Wolffgang, and still self-funded and founder-owned. The platform is arranged in three layers: an integration layer that connects existing systems, a process orchestration layer, and the agents themselves. Orchestration runs on a no-code BPMN 2.0 engine with more than 100 ready-made business modules, covering PDF handling, surveys, an API client, appointment booking, photo capture, Salesforce, HubSpot, Brevo, quizzes, opt-ins, customer login and SSO inside the chat, promotion codes and Google Maps. Knowledge comes from websites, from PDF, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX documents and from APIs, with semantic search and, from the Enterprise tier, Agentic Retrieval across complete documents. The default chat model is Gemma 4, run on hardware LoyJoy owns in a Münster data centre rather than in rented cloud capacity; from Enterprise upward a tenant can instead select GPT on Azure Ireland, Claude in the Anthropic EU region, or its own model. The Phone Agent is speech-to-speech, with latency announced below 500 ms, natural prosody, barge-in and SIP connectivity, and it reuses the same process modules as chat. Every agent is at once an MCP server and an MCP client, so it plugs into Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini in both directions. Around this sit an AI Product Advisor that turns search filters into a sales conversation, live chat with asynchronous human handover, AI Test Automation, HeyGen, D-ID and Moonscale avatars, staging and live versioning with rollback across the last five versions, roughly 20 roles, tenant isolation and archived audit logs. Analytics covers dashboards, funnel tracking, A/B tests, Excel and CSV export, and a data warehouse connection from Enterprise. LoyJoy announces a prototype in 15 minutes and typical go-live in two to four weeks, and reports in its own case studies 98% automated handling at RTL+, a 70% drop in email volume at 1. FC Köln and a 200% rise in conversion at Telekom. Its named references, among them TRUMPF, R+V Versicherung, Vaillant, Beiersdorf, ALDI and ADAC, sit almost entirely in German-speaking markets.

When to use LoyJoy / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if LoyJoy is the right fit.
When to use LoyJoy
- Large European enterprises and mid-market companies in regulated sectors, bound by GDPR, the EU AI Act, DORA or BFSG accessibility requirements
- Insurers and cooperative banks automating claims notification, tariff advice and day-to-day client service
- Municipal utilities handling meter readings, instalment changes and relocations, with SAP IS/U connected behind the agent
- Manufacturers and e-commerce teams that need lead qualification, spare-parts service, an AI product advisor and cross-selling
- Business teams without developers who want to build and change their own agents, in organisations that require AI inference to stay inside the EU
When not to use LoyJoy
- Individuals and very small businesses: LoyJoy is sold B2B, has no permanent free plan and starts at EUR 390 per month on an annual contract
- Teams that need month-to-month flexibility, since the terms set a 12-month minimum term unless otherwise agreed, with three months' notice and annual renewal
- Buyers who want a published price before talking to sales, as the Enterprise and Unlimited tiers are quoted on request only
- Projects that depend on BPMN process modelling, process modules or API integrations, none of which are included in the Starter plan
- Non-German-speaking organisations uncomfortable with German-language contract documents, since the terms are served in German even at the English URL
How to use LoyJoy
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Start a 30-day free trial by signing up directly at cloud.loyjoy.com on the Starter or Professional plan, or book a 30-minute demo with sector examples instead
- Sign in to the admin console with a passkey (FIDO2), a magic link or Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on, available on every plan
- Connect: link your knowledge sources and systems, from the website and PDF or Office documents to APIs, CRM and ERP
- Orchestrate: build the agent by drag and drop in the BPMN 2.0 editor, adding process modules, rules, approvals and guardrails
- Choose the agent's model and define exactly which knowledge sources it is allowed to reach
- Run AI Test Automation on a set of imported test questions to check answer quality before release
- Go live: publish the agent to web chat, telephone, WhatsApp or your own native app
- Watch dashboards, funnels and A/B tests, and export the results to Excel or CSV
- Use the onboarding included with your tier, from 1 hour plus 1 hour of agent building on Starter to 1 hour plus 3 person-days on Enterprise, or the Agent Building service at typically 2 to 10 person-days
- Consult the documentation, guides, BPMN modules, templates and API reference on docs.loyjoy.com, and try LoyJoy's own public agent in the site chat or by calling its Phone Agent
Pros & Cons
Pros
- A degree of data sovereignty rare on this market: the default chat LLM runs on LoyJoy's own hardware in Germany, with no external AI subprocessor on that path
- Unusually complete and dated compliance documentation, covering the DPA, Article 32 technical and organisational measures, a subprocessor list with its change history, a DPIA aid, a BFSG declaration and an EU AI Act note
- Entry-level and mid-tier prices are published, which contact-centre suites rarely do
- Chat and telephone live on one platform, sharing the same process modules and the same integrations
- Genuinely no-code: a prototype is announced in 15 minutes, business teams configure the agents themselves, and short go-live times are backed by named customer cases
- MCP in both directions, as server and as client, still uncommon among comparable platforms
- Retention configurable per tenant from 7 to 720 days, enforced by irreversible deletion
Cons
- No permanent free plan, and a high entry ticket at EUR 390 per month
- The published prices assume an annual contract: the pricing FAQ mentions a flexible monthly option whose rate is never published, while the terms set a 12-month minimum term by default, with three months' notice and tacit annual renewal
- The Starter plan is severely limited, with no BPMN engine, no process modules, no API integrations and only two agents
- Two of the four tiers, Enterprise and Unlimited, carry no public price at all
- LoyJoy is not itself ISO 27001 certified: the certification belongs to its hosting infrastructure, Google Cloud EMEA, while LoyJoy's own certification remains a stated objective
- Marked DACH anchoring, with named customers almost exclusively German-speaking and terms and conditions served in German even on the English version of the site
- Billing per 30-minute conversation and per phone minute makes real cost heavily volume-dependent, and using the Phone Agent reintroduces an external subprocessor, Microsoft Azure, in the EU data zone
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. LoyJoy offers a 30-day free trial, after which four subscription tiers apply. The lowest published price point is EUR 390 per month for Starter, and EUR 1,490 per month for Professional; both figures are quoted on an annual contract, the rate of the flexible monthly option mentioned in the pricing FAQ is not published, and the terms and conditions set a minimum term of 12 months unless otherwise agreed. Enterprise and Unlimited are quoted on request. No setup fee applies on Starter or Professional. A chat conversation covers all messages within a 30-minute window, after which a further conversation is billed. Included volumes are 2,500 conversations and 100 phone minutes on Starter, 10,000 and 500 on Professional, 25,000 and 1,500 on Enterprise, and custom on Unlimited. Overage is charged at EUR 0.15 per additional Advanced AI conversation, from EUR 0.30 in Premium AI (Enterprise and above), and EUR 0.29 per additional phone minute, with automatic email alerts at 70%, 85% and 100% of the included volume. Options include an additional website at EUR 99, an additional phone number at EUR 9, WhatsApp at EUR 99 per number per month excluding Meta fees, and an additional user at EUR 49 on Enterprise. Multi-year contracts paid annually in advance attract discounts; VAT is added and payment is made in advance. LoyJoy states that its pricing page is provided for information and is subject to change.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how LoyJoy handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete and documented. The controller is LoyJoy GmbH, Kapuzinerstr. 20, 48149 Münster (contact@loyjoy.com, +49 251 26538-136). No data protection officer is appointed: the obligation "is reviewed regularly against the statutory requirements". Legal bases cited are Article 6(1)(a), 6(1)(b) and following. A DPA under Article 28(3) is published, with Annex 1 for Article 32 measures and Annex 2 listing subprocessors; subprocessor changes carry four weeks' notice and two weeks to object. On-site audit rights apply during business hours. Breach handling follows the Article 33 deadline of 72 hours, with RTO 4 hours and RPO 24 hours. An Article 35 DPIA aid, an EU AI Act note (limited risk, LoyJoy as provider, the customer as deployer, Article 50 transparency live since 2 August 2026) and a BFSG accessibility declaration citing EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.1 AA are published. Policy last updated August 2026.
Who owns the data?
Under LoyJoy's German terms (clause 3.5), any databases the customer builds while using the platform belong exclusively to the customer, who remains their owner after the contract ends. LoyJoy may use them to perform the contract and may exercise a right of retention if payment is overdue. Clause 3.6 provides a CSV export function available at any time for retrieval, but gives no right to obtain the operating software itself. For personal data processed on a customer's behalf, LoyJoy acts as a processor under Article 28 GDPR; for its own website, the controller is LoyJoy GmbH, Kapuzinerstr. 20, 48149 Münster.
Reuse rights
Customers can reuse their own conversation data without asking permission: the databases created during the contract are theirs, and a CSV export is available at any time. On LoyJoy's side, the data processing agreement carries an unconditional contractual exclusion, stating that personal data "shall not be used for the training, development, fine-tuning, or other further development of AI or machine learning models". Inputs are transmitted in real time to generate a response, and nothing else. LoyJoy performs no fine-tuning of its own, Google remains the GPAI provider of Gemma 4, and agents answer only from the knowledge sources the customer defines, with per-agent control over which sources each one may reach. Optional external model providers, including EU-region Azure OpenAI, Mistral in France, Scaleway, Nebius and OpenAI, are activated only on the explicit instruction of an Enterprise tenant; under the bring-your-own-key option the provider becomes the customer's own processor rather than LoyJoy's.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Personal data is processed exclusively in the EU, on Google Cloud EMEA infrastructure through Google Ireland. Default AI inference, covering Gemma 4, embeddings, summaries, quality checks, sentiment and topic analysis, runs on hardware LoyJoy owns in a Münster (Germany) data centre, with no external AI subprocessor on that path. Content delivery uses BunnyWay d.o.o. (Bunny.net, Ljubljana, Slovenia), with G-Core Labs S.A. (Contern, Luxembourg) as anti-DDoS fallback. Email goes through Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL (Luxembourg) on EU servers, though a different SMTP server can be configured. The Phone Agent brings in Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd, with Azure OpenAI and speech-to-speech processing in the Azure OpenAI EU data zone; easybell GmbH (Berlin) is an optional telephony fallback, inactive in standard operation. Optional model providers, EU-region Azure OpenAI, Mistral in France, Scaleway, Nebius and OpenAI, are activated only on customer instruction. Encryption is TLS in transit without exception and AES at rest, with key management outside the cloud provider's configuration. The subprocessor list is published as Annex 2 of the DPA, with eight dated changes since 1 March 2026. Cloudflare is covered by a processing agreement, and metadata processing outside the EU, notably in the United States, cannot be excluded.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting LoyJoy.
- The ISO 27001 and PCI DSS certifications shown on the site are held by the hosting infrastructure, Google Cloud EMEA, not by LoyJoy. The home and platform pages shorten this to "ISO 27001-certified infrastructure", a phrasing that can easily be misread as certifying the publisher. LoyJoy's own security management system follows ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the BSI IT-Grundschutz, and its Compliance at a Glance page states that its own certification is still an objective
- The advertised entry price assumes an annual contract. The pricing FAQ also mentions a flexible monthly option whose rate is never published, and the terms set a minimum term of 12 months by default, so the real cost of a month-to-month commitment cannot be established from the site
- The customer results quoted (98% automated handling, a 70% drop in email volume, a 200% rise in conversion) along with the 4.8 out of 5 rating over 52 OMR Reviews and 4.9 on Capterra are the publisher's own statements, taken from its case studies and not independently verified
- Published figures are inconsistent between pages: the pricing table says 39 languages while the home and platform pages say 40; the privacy policy's meta description says April 2026 while the body of the page says August 2026; and the Impressum carries two postal addresses, Kapuzinerstr. 20 as the statutory and postal address and Mauritzstr. 23 as the office address
- The terms and conditions are served in German even at the English /en/terms/ URL, and the Impressum states that the German version prevails in case of divergence, so a non-German-speaking buyer signs a contract in a language the site does not translate
- Using the Phone Agent reintroduces Microsoft Azure as a subprocessor, in the Azure OpenAI EU data zone under standard contractual clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which is a step away from the fully in-house inference path advertised for chat
- The site publishes only a founding year, 2018. The German register records the constitutive deed on 26 October 2017 and the registration on 2 January 2018, and the loyjoy.com domain carries Wayback captures from 2005, more than twelve years before the company existed, so the domain belonged to a third party first
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for configuration itself. LoyJoy is explicitly no-code: business teams build agents by drag and drop, and the site announces a prototype in 15 minutes with first use cases in production in two to four weeks. An API client module connects any REST, GraphQL or web service without programming, and Microsoft Entra ID SSO ships on every plan while IT keeps governance and rights. No setup fee applies, onboarding runs from 1 hour on Starter to 3 person-days on Enterprise, and an Agent Building service adds 2 to 10 person-days. Real effort depends on integration complexity and process count.

Should you pick LoyJoy?
LoyJoy is one of the clearer European answers to a specific question: how to automate service and sales conversations without sending them outside the EU. Its strongest card is not a feature but an architecture: the default chat model, Gemma 4, runs on hardware LoyJoy owns in a Münster data centre, with no external AI subprocessor on that path, and personal data is processed exclusively in the EU on Google Cloud EMEA through Google Ireland. Around it sits compliance documentation that is unusually complete and dated: a DPA with an unconditional contractual exclusion of model training, Article 32 measures, a subprocessor list with its change history, a DPIA aid, an EU AI Act note and a BFSG accessibility declaration. Read the certification claims carefully: the ISO 27001 and PCI DSS certifications on the site belong to the hosting infrastructure, while LoyJoy's own security management system follows ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the BSI IT-Grundschutz, its own certification still an objective. The product is coherent: chat and telephone on one platform, a no-code BPMN 2.0 engine, more than 100 process modules and bidirectional MCP. The reservations are commercial rather than technical. There is no permanent free plan, only a 30-day trial, and the entry tier at EUR 390 per month assumes an annual contract, with the flexible monthly rate unpublished and a 12-month minimum term set by default. Two of the four tiers carry no public price, Starter excludes BPMN, process modules and API integrations, and billing per conversation and phone minute makes real cost volume-dependent. The customer results quoted come from the publisher's own case studies. For a mid-market or large European organisation in a regulated sector, with business teams willing to build their own agents, LoyJoy deserves a serious look. For anyone smaller, the entry ticket decides the question first.
