Indeemo
Indeemo is an Irish qualitative research platform where participants film their real lives on a mobile app. Researchers then use traceable AI to transcribe, translate and theme that footage across markets, with every insight linked back to its source clip.
What is Indeemo?
Indeemo is a qualitative research platform built around a simple wager: that watching what people do in their own homes, shops and routines tells you more than asking them afterwards what they remember doing. Published by Indeemo Limited in Cork, Ireland, it pairs a consumer-style mobile app for participants with a researcher dashboard, and organises the work into four stages the vendor calls Recruit, Capture, Analyse and Deliver.
Recruitment runs three ways: through a 4M+ verified participant panel powered by Respondent.io covering 150 countries, through study-specific QR codes placed in stores or on packaging, or by inviting people you already have. Whichever route is used, participants arrive registered and consented before the first task lands. Capture is deliberately multi-modal — selfie video diaries, phone screen recordings with narration, environmental scans, photo and text tasks, ratings, journey mapping, and live one-to-one interviews held inside the app. The vendor claims completion rates above 90% and compares the participant experience to a social app rather than a survey tool.
The analysis layer is where the AI sits, and Indeemo is careful about how it frames it: researcher-led, AI-assisted. Recordings are transcribed and translated automatically in 30+ languages; OCR pulls text off screens, packaging and shelves so brands and prices become searchable; semantic search answers questions by meaning rather than keyword. AI proposes themes, sentiment scores and code-frame shortcuts, but every suggestion carries a timestamp and a link back to the clip it came from, and the researcher keeps, refines or rejects each one. Delivery turns tagged clips into subtitled highlight reels, exportable as MP4 or shared through observer links that need no login.
The company reports 60+ countries with active studies, 500,000+ participants engaged and a team of around thirty in Ireland. Its compliance posture is unusually well documented for its size: SOC 2 Type II attested by Sensiba with a clean opinion, plus ISO 27001, HIPAA with BAA capability, and EU or US data residency on AWS. There is no published price and no self-serve entry point — access starts with a sales demo.

When to use Indeemo / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Indeemo is the right fit.
When to use Indeemo
- Qualitative researchers and insights teams running diary studies or mobile ethnography over days, weeks or months
- UX and product teams that need to watch real screen behaviour rather than hear it described in a moderated session
- Brand, marketing and shopper teams studying purchase moments in the actual aisle or the actual home
- Healthcare and pharma researchers mapping patient journeys under HIPAA, with consent and identity masking built in
- Academic research groups doing fieldwork, ethnography and longitudinal studies with multimedia diaries
When not to use Indeemo
- Anyone who needs to know the price before talking to a salesperson: no rate card is published anywhere
- Teams wanting to sign up and test the tool themselves, since there is no free plan and no advertised free trial
- Developers looking to script the platform, as no public API or developer documentation is published
- Large-scale quantitative studies, since the vendor frames a typical single-market study at 10 to 20 participants
- Buyers who need a published subprocessor list or a downloadable DPA before procurement will sign
How to use Indeemo
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Book a demo, since there is no self-serve sign-up: access is arranged with the sales team
- Log in to the moderator dashboard once your account is provisioned
- Create the project and design the study: task types, duration, and whether tasks drop in phases or all at once
- Choose a recruitment route — the Respondent.io panel, a field QR code, or your own participants
- Launch a screener with skip logic, review the applications, and invite the people who fit
- Have participants install the mobile app, consent at registration, and start their tasks
- Run the study, sending push reminders, follow-up questions and live interview invitations as needed
- Let transcription and translation land automatically, then tag clips and build your code frame
- Review the AI theme suggestions against the source clips, keeping, refining or rejecting each one
- Build the highlight reel, export it as MP4 or share an observer link, and keep the tagged library for later studies
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Every AI claim traces back to a specific clip, which makes findings defensible rather than something to be taken on trust
- Broad language coverage: 30+ languages for capture, transcription and translation in the same workflow
- SOC 2 Type II is documented properly, with a named auditor, dated scope and a clean opinion
- An explicit commitment that customer data is never used to train AI models
- Recruitment is built in, so a separate panel provider is not needed for most studies
- EU and US data residency options on AWS, useful for regulated buyers
- Support and study-design help are repeatedly singled out as strengths in published customer reviews
Cons
- No published pricing at all: no rate card, no plans, no figures anywhere on the site
- No free plan and no advertised free trial, so the tool cannot be evaluated without a sales conversation
- No public API and no developer documentation, which rules out scripted workflows and custom integrations
- Neither terms of service nor a legal notice page is published; the only legal documents are the privacy statement and the TOMs page
- No named subprocessor list is published, and no customer-facing DPA is visible outside the trust centre
- ISO 27001 and HIPAA are claimed without a certificate number or certification body, and the trust centre holding the evidence renders only in a browser
- Built for depth rather than breadth: the vendor's own guidance points to 10-20 participants per market
Pricing & Plans
Indeemo publishes no pricing information whatsoever. There is no pricing page, no rate card, no plan structure and no monetary figure anywhere on the site; the contact page simply invites visitors to request a quote, and the only entry points offered are "Book a demo" and "Talk to sales". No permanent free plan and no free trial are advertised. The participant mobile app is free to download, but it is not the product being sold. Prospective buyers should expect a quoted, contract-based arrangement negotiated after a demonstration.
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Indeemo handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly: Indeemo states it meets the Regulation's requirements for collecting, storing and processing personal data. A dedicated Technical & Organisational Measures page describes an Article 30 record of processing, a risk register, DPIAs where processing is high risk, documented subject access request procedures, annual staff training and annual penetration testing; it is reviewed yearly and approved by the senior management team. A Data Protection Lead is reachable at dataprotection@indeemo.com and by phone. Retention periods are published by purpose, and complaints can be raised with a supervisory authority, the Irish Data Protection Commission being named. As the publisher is established in Ireland, no Article 27 representative is required or named.
Who owns the data?
Indeemo positions itself as a data processor for the participant data handled inside the platform, and as a controller only for its own business contacts, job candidates and website visitors. Ownership of research material therefore stays with the customer: the vendor states that everything a researcher prompts and every result returned is owned entirely by that customer. Participant consent is captured in a single flow at onboarding, before any capture begins, and researchers can switch on identity masking with facial blurring per study. The site publishes no terms of service, so the precise contractual wording of ownership is not readable in public.
Reuse rights
Within the platform the customer can reuse its own research material freely: clips are tagged, cut into highlight reels, exported as MP4, embedded in decks or shared through observer links that need no login, and the tagged library stays searchable after the study closes. On the vendor side, Indeemo states plainly that customer data is never used to train AI models. Indeemo does disclose that it may share personal data with subcontractors, hosting providers, auditors and advisers, and that it integrates with Google Meet, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams and Zoom so content generated there can be uploaded. Transfers outside the EEA rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Article 46.2 GDPR. No named list of subprocessors is published.

Hosting summary
Indeemo runs on AWS, described by the vendor as the cloud infrastructure covered by its SOC 2 audits, and offers EU and US data residency options. No specific hosting country is named anywhere on the site, so the region is as precise as the public information gets. Where personal data moves outside the European Economic Area, the company relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Article 46.2 GDPR. Its Technical and Organisational Measures page describes backups, an encryption policy, network firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, patch management, vulnerability scanning and an annual penetration test, alongside documented business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Processors are assessed for security of processing and for the physical location of the data they hold, and all processing is placed under contract. No named list of those processors is published.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Indeemo.
- The platform records people in their homes, cars and workplaces: consent, bystander privacy and the ethics of what gets filmed deserve as much attention as the research design itself
- Three different founding years circulate — company registration in 2010, "founded in 2014" on the site, and 2016 on LinkedIn; the Indeemo name only took legal effect in 2019
- The postcode differs between the vendor's own pages: the privacy statement gives T23 T2TY while the contact page and the company register both give T23 T2VY
- AI theme suggestions can quietly become the analysis if nobody checks them; the traceability is only worth what the researcher's review of it is worth
- ISO 27001 and HIPAA are asserted without a certificate number or certification body, and the trust centre holding the evidence cannot be read without a browser
- No terms of service exist publicly, so contractual terms on ownership, liability and termination are invisible before signature
- With no published subprocessor list, buyers cannot check who else touches participant footage without asking
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low, once access exists. Researchers work from a web dashboard with nothing to install, and participants download a consumer mobile app from their usual store. No integration work, no API wiring and no IT project are required, and customers describe the initial setup as straightforward; the vendor also offers hands-on help with study design, fieldwork and analysis, plus a moderator knowledge base. The real friction is commercial rather than technical: there is no self-serve sign-up, so getting started means booking a demo and agreeing terms first.

Should you pick Indeemo?
Indeemo occupies a narrow niche and occupies it convincingly. Its wager — that behaviour captured in the moment beats behaviour recalled in an interview room — shapes every part of the product, from a participant app deliberately built to feel like a social feed to an analysis layer that refuses to hand over a theme without the clip behind it. That traceability is the real differentiator against generic AI summarisers, and it is the feature a researcher can actually defend in a boardroom.
The compliance work is more thorough than the company's thirty-odd headcount would suggest. SOC 2 Type II is documented the way it should be: a named auditor, a dated scope, a clean opinion. ISO 27001 and HIPAA are claimed rather than evidenced in public, and the trust centre that would hold the certificates renders only in a browser, so a procurement team will have to request the paperwork rather than download it.
The gaps are commercial rather than technical. Nothing about the price is public, there is no trial and no free tier, and no API exists to script around. That makes Indeemo an enterprise purchase decided by procurement and legal rather than a tool a curious researcher can try on a Friday afternoon. Buyers should also note that the legal entity behind the product dates from 2010 and only took the Indeemo name in 2019, while the site itself says the product was founded in 2014 — a history worth clarifying if the paperwork matters.
For teams doing serious longitudinal or multi-market qualitative work, particularly in regulated sectors, it is a strong candidate. For anyone who wants to evaluate before talking to sales, it is simply not set up for that.
