Overview

What is RUNIQ?

RUNIQ is an AI-driven running training ecosystem published by ELMA INVESTMENTS s. r. o. in Trenčín, Slovakia. Its AI coach is named Adam, after founder Adam Ševčík, and the site positions the product as not just another running app but a complete training system built on sports science research, modern training methodologies and human physiology studies.

The audience is recreational and performance-oriented runners preparing 5K, 10K, half-marathon and marathon distances, or building endurance over the long term. The AI analyses goals, performance and progression to produce plans that genuinely change from week to week. Four axes are described: adaptive plans, pain and injury awareness, nutrition strategy and personalised feedback. Sessions fall into four training modes - Endurance Base, Tempo & Threshold, Intervals and Long Run - and the claimed scientific basis covers periodisation, heart-rate zones, injury-prevention protocols and recovery science. Around the plan sit real-time GPS tracking (distance, pace, route, elevation, history, splits), an analytics layer showing 16-week VO2 max progression, threshold pace, recovery status and training load, and a gamification layer of XP, levels, streaks, milestones, challenges and rewards. The home page advertises 100% Science-Based Research, 200+ Integrated Training Methodologies, Elite Performance Standards and 24/7 Expert & AI Monitoring.

A second, separate product sits under the same brand: 1:1 human coaching with Adam Ševčík himself, split into Running Coaching, Team Sports Performance Coaching and an Elite tier. Ševčík is presented as a professional sprinter and a sports scientist at FTVS UK (Comenius University), with eleven years in athletics and ten in ice hockey. A gallery of photographs and clips from real sessions is published on the site.

One point matters before signing up. The app is announced for the App Store and Google Play, but on 27 August 2026 both store buttons read "Coming Soon" and carry no link. The human coaching side, by contrast, is live and sold through Stripe. RUNIQ today is therefore a purchasable coaching service alongside an app whose subscription price and free trial are published ahead of its actual distribution.

What it does

  • Generate adaptive running plans from your goals, performance and progression
  • Adjust upcoming sessions to fatigue, recovery, pain and injury
  • Track runs live by GPS: distance, pace, route map, elevation and splits
  • Report performance analytics: VO2 max progression, threshold pace and training load
  • Sustain motivation through gamification: XP, levels, streaks, challenges and rewards
  • Provide endurance nutrition, hydration and recovery guidance
  • Coach in the user's own language across five interface languages

When to use RUNIQ / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if RUNIQ is the right fit.

When to use RUNIQ

  • Recreational runners preparing a first 5K or 10K who want a plan that adapts week to week rather than a fixed schedule
  • Performance-oriented runners working towards a half-marathon or marathon target time
  • Team-sport athletes in football, hockey, handball, floorball or rugby who need off-season conditioning, speed and explosive power work
  • Sprinters and explosive athletes drawn to the Speed & Power mentoring track and to direct contact with a named coach
  • Runners aged 12 and over coming back from injury, whose sessions need to account for pain, soreness and current limitations

When not to use RUNIQ

  • Anyone who wants a running app they can install today: on 27 August 2026 both store buttons read "Coming Soon" and are inert
  • Children under 12, who fall outside the stated audience of athletes aged 12 and over
  • Athletes who train through Strava, Garmin, Google Fit, Polar or Coros, since no integration beyond Apple Health is documented
  • Teams or developers looking for an API, a web app or a desktop client, none of which exist
  • Users who need an interface outside English, Slovak, German, Spanish or Chinese, or who require published terms of service before paying

How to use RUNIQ

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Open the RUNIQ site and use the "Explore the Ecosystem" entry point to see what the AI coach covers
  2. Check app availability first: the "Download Free" button leads to App Store and Google Play badges that read "Coming Soon" on 27 August 2026 and cannot be clicked
  3. Once distributed, the app starts with a 7-day free trial, presented as one full microcycle to try, then bills 11.99 EUR per month
  4. Create an account with your name and date of birth
  5. Optionally connect Apple Health or a compatible heart-rate device so the coach can factor in heart rate
  6. Record a run in real time with GPS; the plan then recalibrates on your performance, recovery and any pain reported
  7. For human coaching, open the coaching page and choose Running Coaching or Team Sports Performance Coaching at 62 EUR per month
  8. Pay through the Stripe link, then follow the redirect to WhatsApp, where a pre-filled message collects your name, sport, goal and experience level
  9. For Elite 1:1 Performance Coaching at 199 EUR per month, submit the application form; a limited number of athletes are accepted each month
  10. Manage data visibility or delete your account and all associated data from the app settings at any time

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Two genuinely distinct offers under one brand: a self-service AI app and 1:1 coaching from an identified human coach
  • The founder is named and his background is stated in detail: professional sprinter and sports scientist at FTVS UK
  • Plans are claimed to adapt to pain and injury, not only to performance
  • The free trial runs seven days, described as one full microcycle, so a complete training cycle rather than a taster
  • Low entry price for the app at 11.99 EUR per month
  • Five interface languages from launch, including Chinese, and an audience open from age 12
  • EU-established publisher, identified by company name, address and company ID, with explicit commitments not to sell data and not to let processors train their models on it

Cons

  • The app is not downloadable as of 27 August 2026: both store buttons read "Coming Soon" and are inert elements, not links
  • The site contradicts itself by publishing a subscription price and a 7-day trial for an app that cannot yet be installed
  • No terms of service are published; the privacy policy is the only legal document on the site
  • No subprocessor list, no data processing agreement, no data protection officer, and no stated hosting country for the data
  • No security certification is displayed, and no documented way to exclude data from AI model training
  • No integration with the usual training platforms such as Strava, Garmin or Google Fit is documented
  • Very short track record: company registered in 2025 with 5,000 EUR of share capital, domain registered on 26 March 2026, no social accounts, no contact page, and a support address on a separate domain that is itself a parked "Coming Soon" page

All amounts are quoted in euros only, and no annual rate, discount or promotional code is documented. The home page wording "Download Free" and "Free to start, powerful to grow" refers to the trial, not to a permanent free tier.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how RUNIQ handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly at the top of the privacy policy, which states that the publisher is "committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)". The document lists concrete rights - access, rectification, erasure, objection to processing, portability and complaint to a supervisory authority - and its section 7 designates support@runiqapp.com as the contact point for exercising them. Data visibility settings and full account deletion are handled inside the app. The publisher is established in Slovakia, so no Article 27 EU representative is required or named. The documentary set stops there: the policy is dated 27 March 2026, no terms of service are published, no data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is offered, and no subprocessor list is disclosed even though the policy acknowledges using processors.

Who owns the data?

The data controller is ELMA INVESTMENTS s. r. o., Hodžova 1509/22, 911 01 Trenčín, Slovakia, company ID 57103691. The privacy policy leaves the account holder in control of their own records: the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and complaint to a supervisory authority all apply, and the account together with all associated personal and training data can be deleted from the app settings at any time, or on request to support@runiqapp.com. The publisher states that it does not sell personal, location, activity or health data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes, and that "RUNIQ does not engage in data brokering".

Reuse rights

RUNIQ collects identity data (name, date of birth), activity data (GPS traces, pace, distance, training history) and health data such as heart rate when a compatible device or Apple Health is connected. The stated purpose is narrow: generating personalised training plans and feedback, and calculating training intensity. Data is shared only with processors described as essential to app functionality, namely database hosting and secure AI model processing, which are acknowledged but never named. The publisher states that strict confidentiality agreements prevent any third-party processor from using personal or health data to train their general or general-purpose AI models, and that data from Health services such as Apple Health is not used for advertising or data brokering. The user keeps their own training history, can obtain it under the GDPR right to portability and can erase it at any time; since no terms of service are published, no contractual licence over user content is documented either way.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Data is kept for as long as the account is active and necessary to run the app. Activity, health and personalisation data are deliberately retained to build a long-term training history, which is what the adaptive coaching draws on. No retention period is quantified anywhere: no number of months or years is given. Deletion is under the user's control, since the account and all associated personal and training data can be removed from the application settings at any time, or on request. On a valid request, personal data is erased within the timeframes mandated by the GDPR, unless it must legally be retained. No anonymisation practice is described. The policy in force is dated 27 March 2026.

Hosting summary

No hosting country or region is stated anywhere on the site. The privacy policy acknowledges sharing data with processors that are, in its own words, essential for app functionality, such as database hosting and secure AI model processing, but it neither names them nor says where they operate. The publisher, ELMA INVESTMENTS s. r. o., is established in Trenčín, Slovakia, so the controller sits inside the European Union, which says nothing about where the servers are. No security certification is displayed: neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 appears anywhere. The domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast address, which is likewise no indication of where data is stored. In short: an EU controller, unnamed processors and an unknown hosting jurisdiction, for a service that collects location and heart-rate data.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting RUNIQ.

  • The app promoted on the home page cannot be installed on 27 August 2026: the App Store and Google Play buttons are inert elements labelled "Coming Soon"
  • A monthly subscription and a 7-day trial are advertised for that unavailable app, so confirm what you are actually buying before entering payment details
  • No terms of service are published, which means the service contract you would be agreeing to is nowhere to be read
  • The hosting country for your data is not stated, even though location and heart-rate data are collected
  • No subprocessor list is published, although the privacy policy acknowledges relying on processors for database hosting and AI model processing
  • 1:1 coaching is paid by Stripe link and then moves to WhatsApp, with a company registered in 2025 and a domain registered in March 2026: agree scope, duration and cancellation in writing before starting
  • Gamified streaks, XP and levels can push a runner to train through pain instead of resting, and the plan only adapts to what you report: under-declaring fatigue or injury degrades the very coaching you are paying for
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. No technical skill is required: this is a consumer app, account creation asks only for a name and a date of birth, and connecting Apple Health or a heart-rate sensor is optional. The human coaching side involves no installation at all, only a Stripe payment followed by a WhatsApp conversation. The real obstacle today is availability rather than difficulty: the app is not yet distributed on either store, so as of 27 August 2026 there is nothing to install.

How much does the app cost?
Seven days free, presented as one full microcycle to try, then 11.99 EUR per month. No annual rate or discount is published.
How much does the human coaching cost?
62 EUR per month for Online Coaching, whether running or team sports, and 199 EUR per month for Elite 1:1 Performance Coaching, which has limited places each month.
Which languages does RUNIQ support?
The interface is available in five languages: English, Slovak, German, Spanish and Chinese.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. The coaching is stated to be for athletes aged 12 and over.
Who is behind RUNIQ?
ELMA INVESTMENTS s. r. o., based in Trenčín, Slovakia. The founder is Adam Ševčík, a professional sprinter and a sports scientist at FTVS UK, and the AI coach carries his first name.
Is my data used to train AI models?
The privacy policy states that strict confidentiality agreements prevent third-party processors from using personal or health data to train their general or general-purpose AI models, and that the data serves only your personalised coaching.
What health data is collected?
Heart rate, and only if a compatible device or Apple Health is connected. The app itself collects activity data such as GPS traces, pace, distance and training history.
How do I delete my account?
From the application settings at any time, which removes the account and all associated personal and training data, or by request to support@runiqapp.com.
Does RUNIQ publish terms of service or offer an API?
Neither. The only legal document published is a privacy policy dated 27 March 2026, and there is no API, developer documentation or web version of the app.
Conclusion

Should you pick RUNIQ?

RUNIQ puts forward a coherent proposition: an AI training engine backed by a human coach who is named, qualified and reachable. Adam Ševčík is presented as a professional sprinter and a sports scientist at FTVS UK, the publisher is a fully identified Slovak company, and the privacy policy makes explicit commitments: no data sales, no data brokering, no training of third-party models on user data. The AI side is described in detail, with plans that respond to performance, recovery, fatigue, pain and injury, four training modes, GPS tracking, VO2 max and threshold analytics, and a gamification layer. Five interface languages and an entry price of 11.99 EUR per month keep it accessible.

The main reservation is one of timing rather than substance. On 27 August 2026 the app is not downloadable: both store buttons read "Coming Soon" and carry no link, yet the site already publishes a monthly price and a 7-day trial for it. The human coaching, by contrast, is genuinely live, sold through Stripe at 62 EUR or 199 EUR per month with onboarding over WhatsApp - a workable arrangement, but one that deserves a written agreement, since the site publishes no terms of service at all. The rest of the documentary set is thin too: no subprocessor list, no data protection officer, and no stated hosting country for data that includes location and heart rate.

The company is young, registered in 2025 with the domain registered in March 2026, which is not a fault in itself, only a reason to expect few external references. The fair reading today is that the human coaching is buyable and the app is not yet. The tool is worth revisiting in a few months to see whether it actually reaches the stores.
