Overview

What is SimballSport?

SimballSport is a subscription platform that applies artificial intelligence to football performance analysis. It is published by SIMBALLSPORT S.L., a company incorporated in Barcelona on 13 May 2020, which says it grew out of advanced motorsport simulation and carried fifteen years of that experience into football.

The platform rests on a claimed database of more than 500,000 matches, 250,000 players and 300 official competitions, with over five years of accumulated data. Each player is measured on 180 statistical parameters grouped into eight categories, defensive, offensive, creativity, finishing, distribution, skills, aggression and efficiency, and receives a harmonised score from 0 to 100 adjusted for position, league and country, so profiles from different championships can be compared directly.

Three proprietary indices carry the analysis. SP rates a player's current performance. SPP projects future potential from historical data, age, club, nationality and progression. SPT measures the collective performance of a starting eleven, computed across starters and substitutes. The publisher describes neural networks, deep learning, supervised learning and dynamic reinforcement behind them, together with a high-performance simulation engine.

Five modules organise the product. Player Performance covers individual rating, season history, the potential projection, a position simulator and advanced search across more than 120 configurable parameters. Team Performance simulates substitutions, positional changes, formations and player compatibility in real time. Squad Optimization adds continuous squad monitoring, automatic match updates, opponent analysis and an automated best-configuration feature called IA Magic. SimballSport Talent Radar handles predictive scouting for under-15 to under-23 players with personalised alerts. Leagues Data supplies standings, fixtures, results and season archives, and is included from the free tier.

A conversational assistant named Lucy answers questions in natural language, drawing on the same parameters and simulations. The working application lives on a separate domain, simballmanager.com, while simballsport.es is the marketing site. The intended audience is professional: clubs, coaches, technical staff, scouts, analysts, sporting directors and agencies. There is no API, no mobile application and no named third-party integration.

What it does

  • Score a player's current performance on a harmonised 0-100 scale, the SP index
  • Project a player's future potential from age, league, nationality and career progression
  • Compute a squad's collective SPT index and recalculate it after every change
  • Simulate a player in a different position and read the resulting rating
  • Compare formations, substitutions and player compatibility before a match
  • Surface under-15 to under-23 talent before the transfer market notices it
  • Ask Lucy, the built-in conversational AI, for an analysis in plain language

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how SimballSport handles your data.

GDPR overview

SIMBALLSPORT S.L. states compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), and names the AEPD as supervisory authority. The privacy policy lists purposes and Article 6 legal bases, consent for commercial messages and the newsletter, legitimate interest for market studies and handling requests, and enumerates the rights of withdrawal, access, rectification, portability, erasure, restriction and objection, exercisable at info@simballsport.com. Two gaps matter. The section headed Medidas de seguridad has a title but no body: the text stops in the middle of the acronym, so no security measure is actually published. And no data protection officer is named, no subprocessor list exists, no retention period is quantified and no processing agreement is offered. As a Spanish company the publisher needs no Article 27 representative, and none is designated.

Who owns the data?

SIMBALLSPORT S.L. declares itself the controller of the personal data collected through the site. The privacy policy and the terms make the user responsible for the accuracy of what they submit and for reporting any change; fields marked with an asterisk are described as necessary to handle a request, the rest as voluntary. Contracting requires an account, and the terms place custody and confidentiality of the password on the user. Nothing published addresses who owns the ratings, charts or saved scenarios produced inside the platform itself, so that question is left open.

Reuse rights

The site grants the end user no reuse right. The legal notice reserves the programming, design, logos, text, images and graphics to SIMBALLSPORT S.L. or its licensors, and states that reproducing, using, exploiting, distributing or commercialising that content, in whole or in part, requires prior written authorisation. No clause carves out an exception for the ratings, charts or reports a subscriber generates, so nothing published permits a customer to redistribute platform output without asking. Separately, personal data submitted through forms is used for commercial contact, newsletters, market studies and statistical analysis, on the basis of consent or legitimate interest, and is not passed to third parties beyond service providers bound by confidentiality and processing contracts.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
No retention period is quantified anywhere on the site. The published rule is a criterion rather than a duration: data is kept no longer than necessary to fulfil the purpose of the processing, or for as long as legal obligations require it to be held. Once it is no longer needed, the publisher undertakes to delete it using security measures intended to guarantee either anonymisation or total destruction. The same wording appears identically in the privacy policy and on the contact page. For cookies, the policy states that retention follows the period given in each cookie's own record, but no cookie table is published, so that reference points to a document that does not exist. Anyone needing a defined retention schedule will have to request one.
GDPR contact

Hosting summary

No hosting information is published. Neither the privacy policy, nor the terms and conditions, nor the cookie policy identifies a hosting provider, a country or a region where customer data is stored, and the site has no trust or security page. The privacy policy's section on security measures carries a heading but no text, so even a general statement of practice is missing. No international transfer outside the European Economic Area is mentioned, and none is ruled out either. What can be established is jurisdictional rather than technical: the controller is SIMBALLSPORT S.L., a Spanish company; the privacy policy invokes Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018; the supervisory authority named is the Spanish AEPD; and the terms submit disputes to Spanish law. A prospective customer with hosting requirements should put the question to the publisher, because the site does not answer it.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting SimballSport.

  • Placeholder content from the website template, a fictitious leadership team, invented offices and United States addresses, sits next to real information: treat every uncited figure on the site with caution
  • Headline volumes disagree across pages, and the application's own counters show far lower numbers than the marketing pages claim
  • The security section of the privacy policy is empty, so no protective measure is actually committed to in writing
  • No hosting jurisdiction, subprocessor list or processing agreement is published, which matters if you handle player data under your club's own GDPR obligations
  • Predictive ratings invite over-reliance: a projected potential is a statistical estimate, not a fact about a young player's career
  • Scoring people from 0 to 100 can harden into a recruitment filter that quietly excludes profiles the model was never trained to recognise
  • The published contact address sits on a different domain from the website, and one legal notice link points to a personal Gmail account, so confirm who you are writing to
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. There is nothing to install or deploy: the product is a web application reached through a browser. The published sequence is short, accept the conditions, create an account, pay, and the service is activated. No integration has to be configured, no API connected and no data imported, since match data is supplied and refreshed by the publisher. A personalised demonstration and advisory session can be requested through the contact form. The real effort is learning to read the SP, SPP and SPT indices rather than any technical work.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does SimballSport measure?
It rates a footballer's current performance on a harmonised 0-100 scale called SP, derived from 180 statistical parameters grouped into eight categories and adjusted for position, league and country. A second index, SPP, projects future potential, and a third, SPT, measures how a starting eleven performs as a unit.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Starter tier is free and permanent rather than a time-limited trial. It opens access to more than 200,000 international players, filters by country, competition and team, a general player overview and the Leagues Data module.
How much does the cheapest paid plan cost?
Plus+ costs 29 EUR per month, or 290 EUR per year. Published prices include Spanish VAT unless stated otherwise, and payment is by credit or debit card or by PayPal.
Does it cover smaller leagues and youth football?
Yes. The publisher states that the database spans major and minor leagues as well as academy football, and the Talent Radar module is dedicated to under-15 to under-23 categories with AI alerts on emerging profiles. Note that the site quotes conflicting figures for this coverage.
Is there an API or a mobile app?
No. Nothing on the site documents or advertises an API, and no iOS or Android application is offered. The product is used through a browser, on the separate simballmanager.com domain.
Who publishes the tool and where is it based?
SIMBALLSPORT S.L., company number B67590257, at Carretera del Prat, 47-7-2A, 08038 Barcelona, Spain. The legal notice records incorporation on 13 May 2020 and registration with the Barcelona Commercial Registry.
Where is customer data hosted?
The site does not say. Neither the privacy policy, nor the terms, nor the cookie policy names a hosting provider, a country or a region, and there is no trust or security page. Ask the publisher directly if this matters to you.
Can I cancel after subscribing?
The terms grant a fourteen-day withdrawal right from the moment of contracting, exercisable through a downloadable PDF form or by email, with the standard exclusions for digital services already fully performed with the user's consent.
Conclusion

Should you pick SimballSport?

SimballSport is a real product with an unusually candid price list and an unusually careless shop window. The analytical proposition is coherent: a harmonised 0-100 rating adjusted for position, league and country solves a genuine problem for anyone comparing players across championships, and a collective SPT index recalculated on every substitution answers the question coaching staff actually ask. Coverage of lower divisions and academy football, plus a permanent free tier holding more than 200,000 players, puts the platform within reach of clubs that could never fund a data department.

The reservations concern presentation, not the concept. Large parts of the website are an unedited template: a fictitious leadership team with lorem ipsum biographies, three invented offices whose addresses contradict their own labels, a footer address in Illinois and two placeholder telephone numbers. The English version is declared in the page metadata but serves Spanish text. The privacy policy stops mid-sentence in its security section. Headline figures disagree from one page to the next. None of this makes the analysis unsound, but nothing on the marketing pages should be taken at face value.

What a buyer should weigh is the silence on governance: no published hosting location, no subprocessor list, no processing agreement, no security certification, no quantified retention period, and for a technical team no API and no mobile application. Against that, the legal identity is complete and verifiable, a fourteen-day withdrawal right is granted, and the pricing is entirely public.

SimballSport deserves a demonstration if you work in Spanish-speaking professional football and want recruitment and tactical decisions backed by data. Ask for the governance answers the website leaves out.
