GDPR overview
The privacy notice, last updated on 11 August 2023, engages the GDPR directly rather than mentioning it in passing. It sets out the legal bases StyleOf relies on under the GDPR and the UK GDPR - consent, contract, legal obligation and legitimate interests - and grants people in the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Canada rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, plus the right not to be subject to automated decision-making. Readers are pointed to their national supervisory authority. Two gaps remain: no EU representative is named under Article 27, and no data protection officer is designated. Who owns the data?
StyleOf, Inc. states plainly that it claims no ownership of what you make: section 11 of the terms says you retain full ownership of your contributions and of the intellectual property attached to them. The same section, however, has you grant the company an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide and sublicensable licence to host, copy, sell, resell, publish, broadcast and adapt those contributions, including your image and voice, for any purpose including advertising, and it asks you to waive your moral rights. Ownership therefore stays with you, while the usage rights handed over are close to unlimited.
Reuse rights
Reusing your own output is not unconditional. Section 2 grants only a non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to the service and its content, for personal, non-commercial use or an internal business purpose. Section 9 then sets out two prohibitions that matter for a creative tool: using generated visual output commercially without permission, and using it to train a model on another platform. Using the likeness of someone who has not agreed to it is forbidden as well. In practice, a commercial project built on a Muse Pro render calls for prior authorisation from StyleOf, and no self-service licence covering that case is published.

Section 17 of the terms is explicit: the services are hosted in the United States. Anyone using Muse Pro from another jurisdiction is told that continued use transfers their data to the United States and amounts to express consent to processing there. No alternative region is offered: there is no EU or UK hosting option, and no data residency commitment appears anywhere in the documents collected. Payment data is treated separately, as the privacy notice states it is handled and stored by Stripe and points to Stripe's own privacy notice. The website itself sits behind Cloudflare, the domain resolving to 104.21.62.21, an anycast address geolocated in the United States on 11 August 2026; that concerns the marketing site rather than user artwork. Beyond Stripe, StyleOf publishes only two categories of third parties, namely account registration and authentication services and payment processors, rather than a named list of subprocessors.
