Overview

What is Thinkpilot?

Thinkpilot positions itself as an intelligence layer sitting between your customer conversations and the language models you already use. Its starting argument is that Claude synthesises well but reasons badly on raw material: feed it unprocessed Intercom tickets or disconnected metrics and you get generic advice. The bottleneck, the site says, is not the model's reasoning but the quality of the context reaching it.

Four problems are named on the homepage. Feedback is scattered across Zendesk, Gong, Intercom and Google Drive. Signals are not equal — a churning enterprise account's complaint should outweigh a free user's feature request. Quantitative data stays trapped in dashboards. And synthesis is slow and manual, done by product managers reading and tagging by hand.

The answer is a three-step pipeline. Connect your sources once. Process runs continuously, weighting signals by business impact, detecting patterns and distilling themes. Sync drops the result as markdown files into a folder you pick — the homepage shows a filename such as insights/themes/2026-01-export-limitations.md.

The architectural choice is explicit and argued: pre-processed files rather than a live MCP connection. The claimed benefits are compatibility with any AI tool, no server to keep running, economical use of the context window, a human review step before the model sees anything, offline operation and git versioning. Processing is described as local-first, on your own machine rather than a vendor cloud.

A separate Chrome extension, published on the Chrome Web Store, lets you highlight text on any page and save it as a structured insight with its quote, your interpretation, a timestamp and the source URL — useful for competitor research and review mining. The desktop client also clips charts and metrics from Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker or any internal dashboard, with no API access required.

Pricing turns on who supplies the AI key. At the entry tier you bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key and pay your provider directly, with no markup; the higher tiers include the model consumption. The publisher is Thinkpilot Ltd., a Bulgarian company registered in Sofia in March 2024 and funded by a pre-seed round.

What it does

  • Pull customer conversations continuously from support, sales and chat tools in one setup
  • Weight each signal by business impact instead of treating every ticket as equal
  • Detect recurring patterns and distil them into named themes
  • Write the result as structured markdown files into a local folder you choose
  • Feed those files to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or a local model with no server in between
  • Clip a chart, a metric or an observation from any analytics dashboard, with your own annotation
  • Capture a verbatim quote from any web page, along with its source URL and timestamp

When to use Thinkpilot / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Thinkpilot is the right fit.

When to use Thinkpilot

  • Product managers who have to arbitrate a roadmap from thousands of tickets rather than a handful of hand-picked quotes
  • Teams whose customer feedback is scattered across four to eight separate tools and never gets read end to end
  • Heavy Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor users who want to hand their model real, weighted customer context instead of raw exports
  • Teams under confidentiality constraints who need the processing to happen on their own machine rather than in a vendor cloud
  • Small teams watching their AI bill, who can plug in their own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key and pay no markup on top

When not to use Thinkpilot

  • Anyone looking for dashboards and charts: Thinkpilot deliberately produces files and themes, not visualisations
  • Individuals and consumers, since the terms restrict the platform to businesses and legal entities and set an eighteen-year minimum
  • Mobile-first workflows, because there is no iOS or Android application, only a macOS and Windows desktop client
  • Developers who need a public API to build on, as none is documented, offered or reachable anywhere on the site
  • Buyers who require a signed data processing agreement, a named hosting jurisdiction or a security certification before purchase

How to use Thinkpilot

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Start on the pricing page to pick the tier that matches who supplies the AI key
  2. Request early access through the form, which is the entry point the site pushes on every page
  3. Download the desktop client for macOS 12 and later or Windows 10 and later
  4. Connect your conversation sources once: Zendesk, Intercom, HubSpot, Gong, Slack, Crisp, Google Drive or G2
  5. On the entry tier, obtain an OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API key and enter it in the application
  6. Choose the local folder where the processed insight files will be written
  7. Let the processing run in the background and let the themes accumulate
  8. Open the markdown output in Obsidian, feed it to Claude, or commit it to git
  9. Install the Chrome extension to clip metrics and verbatim quotes while browsing, with no account needed for the first captures
  10. Use the seven-day trial to judge the output, then pick a plan or switch tiers later from the application settings

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Prices are published in full, three readable tiers, with no contact-sales wall
  • The bring-your-own-key tier charges no markup on model usage, and the publisher itself estimates the provider cost at five to fifteen euros a month
  • The output is open markdown you own, can version in git and can read without the vendor's software
  • No MCP server and no live connection to maintain
  • Seven-day trial with no credit card, plus a fourteen-day no-questions refund guarantee that also covers upgrades
  • Ownership of inputs and outputs is left to the customer in writing, and resale of user data is expressly prohibited
  • Sub-processors are named one by one with their purpose and the data shared, from a European publisher under Bulgarian law

Cons

  • Both download links on the site were unreachable at the time of review: the host accepts the connection but presents no TLS certificate
  • The product is in early access, with a waitlist button on every page and a Chrome extension showing three users and no ratings
  • Contractual documents span three generations and contradict each other on the trial length, the payment provider and the billing model
  • No hosting country or region is named anywhere, while the privacy policy does describe server-side storage in data centres
  • No data processing agreement, no security certification and no opt-out from model training, which is a subject the site never raises
  • The homepage carries a Trusted by industry leaders section that is completely empty, with no logo and no publication named
  • On the entry tier the model bill sits on top of the subscription, and the interface exists in English only

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Thinkpilot handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy, last updated on 21 January 2026, states compliance with the GDPR, the CCPA, local data protection laws and industry security standards. It enumerates seven data subject rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent — exercised by email, with a possible identity check. The terms confirm that personal data is processed and deleted in line with the GDPR, and place the contract under Bulgarian law and jurisdiction. Announced safeguards are encryption in transit and at rest, regular security audits, strict access controls, secure data centres and regular backups. Two things are missing rather than refused: no data processing agreement is published or offered, and no security certification is claimed anywhere. No Article 27 representative is named, and none is required, since the publisher is established in Bulgaria.

Who owns the data?

The customer keeps everything. Section 6 of the terms states that you retain full ownership of all data and content you or your team upload, including the outputs the platform generates from your inputs, and that Thinkpilot Ltd. claims no ownership over your business data or generated content. Section 7 repeats the point for user content, inputs and outputs alike. What the publisher grants itself is narrower: a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to access, store, process and use your platform usage data in order to deliver and improve the service, including usage analytics. Named third parties may touch that material — PostHog, Intercom, Meta Pixel and Paddle — each with a stated purpose.

Reuse rights

The insight files Thinkpilot produces land in a folder you choose on your own machine, and the terms make you their owner, so you may open, edit, publish, version or delete them without asking the publisher for anything. The site itself invites that reuse: open the markdown in Obsidian, feed it to Claude, commit it to git, or use it however you like. In the other direction the publisher's rights are bounded. The licence you grant covers platform usage data, for operating and improving the service. Selling or trading user data is explicitly prohibited, with audit trails and a threat of legal action, and the terms state that personal data such as your name or email is not shared with third parties for advertising or profiling. Third-party analytics and AI providers may process usage data or content, but only to operate and improve the service. Nothing anywhere on the site addresses model training on customer data, in either direction.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Personal and platform data is kept for as long as the business account stays active. If a subscription lapses and the grace period passes, access may be suspended; full deletion happens on confirmed account termination or after prolonged inactivity. The refund policy adds that data is kept for thirty days after a subscription ends, so it can be reactivated or exported. On a deletion request the account and profile, all processed conversations and insights, all reports and generated content and all notes are permanently removed, normally within thirty days, with a confirmation and no way back. Data required by law for tax or accounting purposes is the stated exception. Browser extension session tokens are stored locally and expire after seven days.

Hosting summary

No hosting country and no hosting region is named anywhere on the site. The privacy policy commits to encryption in transit and at rest, regular security audits, strict access controls, secure data centres and regular backups, but never says where those data centres are. The product messaging points the other way: processing is described as local-first, happening on the user's own machine rather than in someone else's cloud, with full control over what is shared with AI providers. The two statements do not cover the same scope, and the site never reconciles them. Three named sub-processors touch user data — PostHog for product analytics, Intercom for support messaging and Meta Pixel for advertising measurement — none with a stated location. Payments run through Paddle as merchant of record. On the bring-your-own-key tier, content is sent to whichever provider the customer chooses, OpenAI, Anthropic or Google. Jurisdiction is Bulgarian: the publisher is registered in Sofia and the terms submit disputes to Bulgarian courts.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Thinkpilot.

  • Both product download links published on the site were unreachable at review time: the host accepts the connection but presents no TLS certificate, so the desktop client could not be obtained
  • Outsourcing synthesis is comfortable, and comfort erodes skill; a team that stops reading raw tickets will lose the ear for the ones that do not fit any theme
  • Weighting is an editorial act performed by software: whoever decides that an enterprise complaint outweighs a free user's request has quietly set the roadmap, and the rule is not shown to the reader
  • Three generations of contractual documents contradict each other on the trial length, the payment provider and the billing model, so any commercial fact drawn from them can be revoked
  • The local-first promise on the homepage sits beside a privacy policy that describes server-side collection, encryption at rest and secure data centres, with no country or region ever named
  • No data processing agreement, no security certification and no way to exclude your data from model training, a subject the site never mentions in either direction
  • A homepage section headed Trusted by industry leaders and Featured in leading publications contains nothing at all, and no customer, testimonial or usage figure appears anywhere on the site
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for a desktop tool. You install an application rather than deploy a server, connect your sources once and pick a local folder for the output; the extension is advertised as needing no setup at all. The one extra step is the entry tier, which requires obtaining and pasting an OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API key — the higher tiers remove it. No development skills and no MCP server are needed. The real obstacle is elsewhere: the download links were not responding at review time, so access effectively runs through the early access waitlist.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How is Thinkpilot different from other product feedback tools?
It processes conversations locally rather than uploading them to a vendor cloud, it runs on the customer's own AI key so nothing is marked up, and it returns structured, actionable themes instead of charts and dashboards.
What does it cost, and is anything free?
Three monthly tiers: 29 EUR with your own model key, 99 EUR with 30,000 conversations included, and 199 EUR unlimited. Every tier comes with a seven-day trial and no credit card. There is no permanent free plan on the desktop product, although the Chrome extension advertises a free tier of one hundred insights a month.
Are the insights really unlimited?
On the 29 EUR tier there is no cap on conversations or insights, since you pay your AI provider directly. The 99 EUR tier includes 30,000 conversations a month, and the 199 EUR tier is described as unlimited with everything covered.
Which tools does it connect to?
The integrations section names Zendesk, Gong, HubSpot, Crisp Chat, Slack, Google Drive, Intercom and G2 Crowd. All integrations are included on every tier.
Which platforms does it run on?
A desktop application for macOS 12 and later and Windows 10 and later, plus a Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store. There is no iOS or Android application, and no web version is offered on the site.
Does Thinkpilot offer a public API?
No. No documentation, no developer portal and no API subdomain could be found, and the API paths return genuine errors. The bring-your-own-API-key wording refers to the model providers Thinkpilot consumes, not to an interface it exposes.
Who is behind the tool?
Thinkpilot Ltd., a Bulgarian limited liability company registered in Sofia on 21 March 2024, whose stated purpose is software development and IT services. The company raised a pre-seed round in May 2025.
Who owns the data and the generated insights?
The customer does. The terms state that you retain full ownership of everything you upload and of the outputs generated from it, and that the publisher claims no ownership over your business data or generated content.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within fourteen days of the first purchase or of an upgrade, with no questions asked, processed in five to ten business days. After that window, payments are not refunded for partial billing periods, but you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the current period.
Is there an age or eligibility restriction?
Yes. The terms reserve the platform to businesses and other legal entities, and require the user to be at least eighteen years old and able to bind the entity they represent.
Conclusion

Should you pick Thinkpilot?

Thinkpilot does one clearly bounded thing: it turns scattered customer conversations into weighted insight files that a language model can actually reason over. The refusal to be a dashboard, a chat interface or an MCP server is argued point by point rather than asserted, and the file-based output has a real advantage — you can read it, edit it, version it and keep it after you stop paying.

The commercial design is honest in a way that is worth noting. Prices are published, the tiers are legible, and the entry plan aligns the publisher's interest with the customer's by charging nothing on top of the model bill. The seven-day trial without a card and the fourteen-day refund guarantee lower the cost of trying it.

What is not yet settled is maturity. Every page pushes a waitlist rather than a purchase, the homepage speaks of working with a small group of product teams, the Chrome extension shows three users, and both download links were unreachable when this record was compiled. The legal documents come from three different generations and disagree with each other on the trial length, the payment provider and the billing model. No hosting jurisdiction is named, no data processing agreement is offered, no certification is claimed, and a section headed Trusted by industry leaders sits on the homepage without a single logo in it.

Behind the product there is a real, young company: registered in Sofia in March 2024 and backed by a 600,000 EUR pre-seed round. The idea is sound and the pricing is fair. The evidence that it works at scale, and the compliance paperwork a buying committee will ask for, are both still to come.
