Aico
Aico is a financial close platform for large enterprises, unifying ten record-to-report modules with real-time SAP, Oracle and Dynamics 365 integration, and AI that validates evidence, scores reconciliations and drafts journal entries under configurable policies.
What is Aico?
Aico is a financial close platform built for large enterprises, covering the record-to-report cycle from first closing task to signed-off control. It is published by Aico Group Oy of Espoo, Finland, with declared offices in Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and Latvia.
The platform brings together ten interconnected solutions rather than separate point tools: Closing Task Manager, Journal Entries, Account Reconciliations, Transaction Matching, Intercompany Invoicing, Manual Payments, Financial Requests, Compliance Task Manager, Account Monitor and Variance Monitor. Each is built on what Aico calls hyper-configurable templates, intended to be adjusted by the finance team itself without the need for IT.
Its central technical argument is live ERP integration. Aico streams data in real time to and from SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Dynamics 365, instead of moving it through periodic file downloads and uploads, so figures can be refreshed in seconds. Any other ERP is supported through a standard file, SFTP or SMB integration. The company presents this real-time integration as unique among financial close solutions.
The AI layer sits inside that workflow rather than beside it. It validates supporting attachments before submission, reviews the quality of approver comments, predicts and generates journal entries, scores reconciliation evidence from 1 to 10 with a written explanation, and checks that expected entries actually appear in ERP reports. The AI is configurable: a customer switches it on by period, threshold or task type, deciding when it runs and which data it sees. Aico frames it as designed to enhance, not replace, human checks.
The vendor claims closes reduced by 50%, up to 80% of reconciliation activity automated and up to 60% saved on financial request handling; these are its own figures, published without method. Named customers include Syngenta, Tecan, AkzoNobel, Sandvik, Sanoma, Outokumpu and Jacobs Douwe Egberts. There is no price, free plan, trial or self-service sign-up: the only route in is a sales demo. Aico has since merged with AARO and Mercur to form Pacera, while keeping its own brand.

When to use Aico
- Group finance teams closing the books across many legal entities and several ERP instances
- Controllers and financial reporting managers working to a tight monthly close deadline
- Shared service centres and centralised accounting functions handling high transaction volumes
- SAP, Oracle or Dynamics 365 landscapes where real-time data flow matters more than file uploads
- Organisations that must evidence statutory, internal and regulatory controls to auditors
When not to use Aico
- Small businesses and startups, as the platform is explicitly dedicated to large companies with complex processes
- Buyers who need a published price, since there is no pricing page, free plan or free trial anywhere on the site
- Teams wanting to self-serve, because access runs through a sales demo and a partner-led implementation project
- Developers looking to build on a public API, as no API, documentation or developer subdomain exists
- Anyone needing a mobile app, since no iOS or Android application is published
How to use Aico
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Book a demo from the website, as there is no online sign-up
- Attend a tailored walkthrough built around your own record-to-report pain points, with live Q&A and an impact preview
- Scope the implementation project with Aico and, where relevant, one of its European partners
- Connect the ERP: live integration for SAP, Oracle and Dynamics 365, or SFTP/SMB file integration for other systems
- Load configuration templates to apply your rules and reference data
- Configure the close: entities, task schedules, reconciliation templates and approval routes
- Set your AI policies, choosing the periods, thresholds and task types where AI assists
- Run the monthly close through Closing Task Manager and monitor bottlenecks
- Review AI-scored reconciliation evidence and approve or reject journal entries before posting
- Use Account Monitor and Variance Monitor continuously, and evidence controls through Compliance Task Manager

Pricing & Plans
Aico publishes no price. There is no pricing page, no free plan and no free trial, and no monetary amount appears anywhere across the 281 URLs of the site's sitemap. The structured data on the site declares a currency of EUR and availability in stock, but attaches no figure to it. The only routes in are the "Book a Demo" and "Contact us" calls to action, so pricing is quoted on request. Accordingly no starting price, currency or billing unit is stated in this listing.
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Aico handles your data.
GDPR overview
Aico publishes a privacy policy presented as written "according to the EU General Data Protection Regulation", but the word "compliant" appears nowhere, so no compliance claim is made. The document grants the full set of GDPR rights: access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority. All requests go to a single address, privacy@pacera.com, which sits on the group domain rather than on aico.ai. The controller reserves the right to ask for identification. No data protection officer is named, and no Article 27 representative is appointed, which is consistent with a controller established in Finland. The policy is dated 24 May 2018 and covers the marketing website only, not the accounting data handled by the platform.
Who owns the data?
The only document Aico publishes is a website privacy policy, dated 24 May 2018, which names Aico Group Oy (Business ID 29249125, Tekniikantie 14, 02150 Espoo, Finland) as the data controller. It covers visitor and prospect data only: contact forms, newsletters, events and cookies. Aico states it will not sell, rent or disclose personal data to third parties, except to parties processing data on its behalf or where the law or a competent authority requires it. Crucially, there are no terms and conditions and no data processing agreement, so the site says nothing about who owns the accounting data customers process in the platform itself.
Reuse rights
Because Aico publishes no terms and conditions, the site sets out no rules on whether a customer may reuse data held in the platform. The privacy policy addresses only marketing data, and lists its purposes: replying to form submissions, email marketing, audience measurement and tracking website goals. The legal bases invoked are consent, the person's professional role and other justifiable interests. Third-party marketing automation, Google Adwords remarketing and Google Analytics are named. Email recipients can unsubscribe through a link. Data may go to a subsidiary in the EEA and to suppliers, subcontractors and service providers; transfers outside the EEA require consent or another legal basis. Nowhere does the site mention training models on customer data.

Hosting summary
Aico publishes no hosting information. No country, region, cloud provider or data centre is named anywhere on the site, and there is no security or trust page. The only relevant statement is in the privacy policy, which says personal data may be transferred to a subsidiary located in the European Economic Area and to suppliers, subcontractors and other service providers, and that data can be transferred, processed and stored outside the EEA only with the person's consent or where legislation requires or permits it. That is a transfer clause, not a hosting declaration, and it applies to marketing website data rather than to the accounting data handled in the platform. The marketing site itself is served by HubSpot CMS behind a Cloudflare anycast node, which describes the website, not the product. Prospective customers should therefore request hosting location and subprocessor details directly from the vendor.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Aico.
- No terms and conditions exist, so contractual questions on data ownership, liability and service levels are simply unanswered before signature
- The privacy policy dates from 24 May 2018 and covers only the marketing website, not the accounting data processed in the platform
- The reported gains of 50% faster closes, 80% automated reconciliations and 60% saved on requests are the vendor's own claims, published without method
- Trusting AI-scored reconciliation evidence without sampling it can erode the reviewer's own judgement, exactly where an auditor expects human scepticism
- Three different founding dates circulate: the site says 2019, LinkedIn says 2008, and the Finnish register records 31 December 2018
- The Customer Support link in the footer points to a subdomain that does not resolve, and the portal linked in the banner returns an authentication error
- An unrelated mobile app named aico exists on Google Play, published from aico.dev in Switzerland, and should not be mistaken for this product
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Setup is a project, not a sign-up. Implementation is run by Aico and a network of European partners. Connecting the ERP is the main effort: live integration for SAP, Oracle and Dynamics 365, or SFTP/SMB file integration for other systems, with configuration templates applying rules and reference data. Aico states that ongoing configuration can then be handled by the finance team without IT. Scale is real: one customer reports 40+ company codes and over 3,800 tasks tracked in a month. No deployment duration is published.

Should you pick Aico?
Aico is a mature, narrowly focused product: it does the enterprise financial close, and it does it for organisations with many legal entities and more than one ERP instance. Its differentiator is genuinely technical rather than cosmetic. Where most close tools ingest periodic extracts, Aico streams data live to and from SAP, Oracle and Dynamics 365, which is what makes a three-day close plausible rather than aspirational. The AI is sensibly scoped: it scores reconciliation evidence, drafts journal entries and checks ERP reports, but it stays configurable and is presented as assisting human review rather than replacing it. Named references such as Syngenta, Sandvik, AkzoNobel and Tecan give the functional claims real weight, and the vendor now has private equity backing behind it.
The reservations are documentary rather than functional, and they are substantial. Aico publishes no terms and conditions at all: the /terms-and-conditions path simply redirects to the privacy policy. There is no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list, no stated hosting country and no security certification issued in Aico's own name. The single legal document is a privacy policy dated 24 May 2018 that covers the marketing website, not the accounting data the platform actually handles. For a product whose buyers are controllers and auditors, that gap is conspicuous, and any serious evaluation will have to close it under NDA.
Pricing is equally opaque: no figure appears anywhere on the site, so cost only emerges through sales. The published performance figures are the vendor's own, without method. Aico has merged with AARO and Mercur to form Pacera while keeping its brand, so prospective buyers should also confirm which entity they are contracting with.
