GanttPRO
GanttPRO is an online Gantt chart maker for project planning and management, combining work breakdown structures, dependencies and critical path with an AI plan generator included in every plan, plus workload, budget and time tracking for teams.
What is GanttPRO?
GanttPRO is an online project management application built around the Gantt chart, published by DPM Solutions Sp. z o.o. of Kraków, Poland. It presents itself as an online Gantt chart maker for project management, sized for single tasks as well as for complex multi-phase programmes. The vendor dates the product story to 2014, reports reaching 800,000 customers in 2022, and claims more than one million project managers, more than one million completed projects and an average rating of 4.8 on software review platforms. Sony, Salesforce, Booking.com, NASA, Mercedes, Michelin, Nestlé and NVIDIA appear as customer logos on the home page.
The planning core is unusually complete for its price bracket: work breakdown structure, task dependencies, critical path, baseline, milestones, deadlines, overdue tasks and auto-scheduling, which recalculates dates whenever a dependency moves. The same schedule can be read through several lenses — Gantt, board, list, dashboard, calendar, portfolio and workload — so a plan built once serves both the planner and the team executing it. Resource management adds three resource types, personal and project calendars, calendar exceptions, workload calculations, budget planning, estimation and time tracking, while reports can be grouped, filtered and exported to Excel.
The artificial intelligence layer is the newest addition and is included in every plan. A short description of the project — goal, timeframe, teams — is turned into a ready-to-use structure: the generator identifies the industry and the project type, maps the journey usually followed in that industry, builds phases, breaks them into tasks, links logical dependencies, adds milestones and assigns realistic roles rather than personal names. The generated plan then opens directly in GanttPRO for editing.
Access is entirely cloud-based: any browser on Windows, macOS or Linux, plus iOS and Android applications, with nothing to install. Dedicated pages address construction, manufacturing, IT and software development, consulting, marketing, project management and healthcare. Pricing is per user and per month across four plans, with a 14-day full-feature trial and no permanent free tier.
What it does
- Generate a complete project plan with phases, tasks, dependencies, milestones and roles from a plain-language description
- Build and maintain a Gantt chart with work breakdown structure, critical path, baseline and automatic rescheduling
- Switch the same project between Gantt, board, list, calendar, dashboard, portfolio and workload views
- Assign human and material resources, calculate costs automatically and balance team workload
- Log time spent on tasks and produce filterable reports by person and project, exportable to Excel
- Import existing plans from Microsoft Project, Excel or Jira Cloud and export to PDF, PNG, XLSX or XML
- Collaborate through comments, mentions, attachments, real-time notifications and a shareable private link
When to use GanttPRO / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if GanttPRO is the right fit.
When to use GanttPRO
- Project managers and schedulers who plan by phases, dependencies and milestones rather than by flat task lists
- Construction, manufacturing and engineering teams that need critical path, baselines and cost estimation on long programmes
- IT and software teams importing existing plans from Microsoft Project, Excel or Jira Cloud into a single visual schedule
- Operations and PMO leads who need portfolio, workload, budget and time-tracking views across several projects at once
- Organisations with security requirements that value ISO 27001 certification, EU hosting, SAML SSO and a published subprocessor list
When not to use GanttPRO
- Anyone looking for a permanently free tool: the vendor states plainly that GanttPRO is not a free Gantt chart maker
- Teams that must keep working offline, since the software is cloud-only and offline data cannot be modified
- Small teams on entry plans that need the API, portfolios, workload, budgets or time tracking, all reserved for higher tiers
- Departments wanting the Enterprise tier below five users or on a monthly commitment, which the vendor does not allow
- Buyers who require a written commitment on whether their data feeds AI model training, a subject the website never addresses
How to use GanttPRO
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Sign up with an email address or through Google, with no credit card required, and start the 14-day trial
- Choose a starting point: an empty project, a free industry template, or the AI generator
- For the AI route, describe the project in plain language — goal, timeframe and teams involved
- Click Generate with AI and let the tool produce phases, tasks, dependencies, milestones and roles
- Alternatively, import an existing plan from Microsoft Project (.mpp), Excel (.xlsx or .csv) or Jira Cloud
- Refine the schedule: adjust dates and durations, rework dependencies, add custom fields and set milestones
- Assign resources, set costs and budgets, and check the workload view to balance the team
- Invite team members and collaborate through comments, mentions, attachments and real-time notifications
- Track execution with time logs, progress, baseline comparison and reports exportable to Excel
- Share the result through a private public link, dynamic or static, or export to PDF, PNG, XLSX or XML
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Gantt depth that is rare at this price: work breakdown structure, dependencies, critical path, baseline and auto-scheduling
- AI plan generator included in every plan and usable free of charge to produce a first draft
- Fourteen-day fully featured trial with no credit card required and cancellation at any time
- Low entry price at 7 USD per user per month on annual billing, with further discounts as the team grows
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, with the certificate published, and hosting on Microsoft Azure inside the EU region
- Strong transparency on processing: published DPA, Standard Contractual Clauses and a named subprocessor list with locations
- Native import from Microsoft Project, Excel and Jira Cloud, plus iOS and Android applications and a site in nineteen languages
Cons
- No permanent free plan: the vendor states outright that GanttPRO is not a free Gantt chart maker
- API, portfolio, workload, budget, estimation, time tracking and reports are absent from the Core and Advanced plans
- Enterprise requires at least five users and an annual subscription, and its 25 USD rate is presented as a limited offer
- Displayed prices assume annual billing; monthly costs more, and the Features page quotes different entry prices than the pricing page
- Nothing is said anywhere about whether customer data is used to train AI models, nor about any opt-out
- Privacy policy, terms of use and DPA carry no effective date and no version number
- A single public email address handles support, privacy and legal disputes, and the help centre blocks automated access
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan; the vendor states explicitly that GanttPRO is not a free Gantt chart maker. Access begins with a 14-day fully featured trial that requires no credit card and can be cancelled at any time, after which a paid subscription is required. The lowest paid entry point is the Core plan at 7.00 USD per user per month on annual billing, annual commitment being 20% cheaper than monthly. Rates decrease further as team size increases, across tiers running from one member to forty or more. The AI Gantt chart generator can be used free of charge to produce a plan, but editing and continuing to work on it requires the trial and then a subscription.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how GanttPRO handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete. The vendor is established in the EU (Kraków, Poland), so no Article 27 representative is required and none is named. The security page states an explicit commitment to the GDPR through a privacy compliance framework. A Data Processing Addendum is published and forms part of the contract as soon as personal data is processed, with Standard Contractual Clauses annexed for transfers outside the EEA. A named subprocessor list is public, with purpose, EU and US locations and a link to each provider's own DPA. Rights are listed in full: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and no automated decision-making, which the vendor says it does not practise. The supervisory authority named is the President of the Polish Personal Data Protection Office. Requests go to support@ganttpro.com. No effective date or version number appears on any legal document.
Who owns the data?
The privacy policy splits ownership clearly. Customers remain the controller of the personal data they enter into the application, and DPM Solutions acts only as a processor working on their documented instructions, formalised through the published Data Processing Addendum under Article 28 GDPR. Customers keep responsibility for their User Content; the vendor and its licensors retain every right over the software itself, which is licensed and never sold. Access to project content is limited to the customer's own credentials and to the collaborators they explicitly authorise. Vendor staff may reach customer data only for incident response, and the security page states they ask the customer's personal permission first.
Reuse rights
Customers may reuse their own project data freely and without asking permission: plans can be exported to PDF, PNG, XLSX and XML, shared through a secret public link in dynamic or static form, and printed, and export is available even during the trial. What the customer cannot do is reuse the software itself. The terms grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable worldwide licence for the customer's own use, explicitly not for resale or further distribution, and forbid copying, reverse engineering, sublicensing or renting access. On its own side, the vendor uses collected data for account creation and support, personalisation, request handling, technical operation, traffic analysis and threat detection, each purpose tied to a legal basis under Article 6 GDPR. It states that it does not sell, trade or transfer personally identifiable information, sharing it only with the subprocessors it lists publicly. Marketing emails require consent and can be switched off in the account notification settings.

Hosting summary
Data is hosted on Microsoft Azure, with servers located in the EU region; the vendor states that all data is stored in secure Azure data centres within the EU. User documents, images and files sit in Azure geo-redundant storage under encrypted paths with strictly limited access and malware scanning on upload. The backup model combines real-time database replication with a full daily backup held in an encrypted environment physically isolated from the primary server, and backups created in the EU region remain in the EU for data sovereignty. A dedicated virtual private network built inside Azure is presented as protecting data cryptographically from access by Microsoft or any third party, and Cloudflare sits in front for CDN, DDoS mitigation and web application firewall. Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS and SSL/TLS. One nuance is stated openly: sensitive data at rest is encrypted, but the database as a whole is not, in order to preserve access speed, and is instead protected by SSL inside a private network. No individual host country is named, only the EU region.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting GanttPRO.
- The website never says whether customer project data is used to train AI models, and documents no opt-out, so sensitive project content should be assessed before upload
- An AI-generated plan looks authoritative and complete; accepting it without challenging its phases, durations and dependencies quietly transfers planning judgement to a generator that has never seen your organisation
- Legal documents carry no effective date or version number, so you cannot tell which version of the privacy policy, terms or DPA you actually agreed to
- The terms cap total liability at whichever is greater of the fees paid over twelve months or five US dollars, and disclaim responsibility for lost data, so keeping your own backups is prudent
- Disputes fall under Polish law and the exclusive jurisdiction of Polish courts, which may be inconvenient for customers elsewhere
- Headline gains of 45%, 50%, 75% and 35% are aggregated from user reports by the vendor itself, with no published methodology, and should not be read as measured outcomes
- Displayed prices assume annual billing, the Enterprise rate is framed as a limited offer, and the features page quotes different entry prices from the pricing page: confirm the figure that applies to you
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for everyday use. Nothing is downloaded or installed: signing up with an email address or a Google account takes seconds, after which you can invite the team and create projects. Free industry templates and the AI generator both remove the blank-page start, and existing plans can be imported from Microsoft Project, Excel or Jira Cloud. Real technical work only appears at the top tiers, where SAML single sign-on has to be arranged with the vendor and the API configured. Help centre articles, video tutorials, a community hub, live chat, product training and onboarding assistance are available throughout.

Should you pick GanttPRO?
GanttPRO is a mature product rather than a recent launch: the vendor dates its story to 2014 and reports more than 800,000 customers. Its real value lies in the depth of its scheduling engine — work breakdown structure, dependencies, critical path, baseline and auto-scheduling — rather than in the AI layer, which is best understood as a way of removing the blank page at the start of a project. That AI generator is genuinely included in every plan and can be used free of charge to produce a first structure, which makes it easy to evaluate before committing.
The compliance posture is above what this segment usually offers: ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification with the certificate published, hosting on Microsoft Azure inside the EU region with EU backups staying in the EU, a published Data Processing Addendum with Standard Contractual Clauses, and a named subprocessor list giving purpose, locations and each provider's own DPA. For an EU buyer this is a short due-diligence file.
The genuine trade-off is the plan boundary. Workload, portfolio, budget, estimation, time tracking and API access all start at the Business tier, so a team evaluating GanttPRO on the entry plans will not be judging the product it would eventually buy. Enterprise adds a five-user floor and an annual commitment.
Three reservations remain. The legal documents carry no effective date or version number. The website is entirely silent on whether customer data feeds AI model training and on any opt-out, which is a notable gap for a tool now marketing an AI feature. And a single public email address serves support, privacy and legal disputes. The pricing figures also differ between the pricing page and the features page, so confirm the rate before signing.
