Overview

What is MindyGem?

MindyGem is an AI-assisted requirements management platform for product and software development teams. Its homepage promises to "Transform Visions into Standardized Requirements 10x faster" and repeats a quantified claim: save 20% of product costs by creating requirements twice as fast. The product ships as a web application at app.mindygem.com.

Four functional blocks make up the offer. The first generates a document in one click: you answer a few questions about your product, MindyGem fills a template with relevant content, and you can switch to another template from its library or inject product-specific data. The second handles decomposition: paste a PRD or a brief, get suggested features, select the ones you want, then obtain detailed user stories enriched with acceptance criteria. The third is the most distinctive: upload a screen mockup from your computer or from Figma, add the missing context about that screen, and the tool returns AI generated specifications for every UI element detected by ML method. The fourth is a unified knowledge base where documents, requirements and specifications live together, with clarification comments, progress statuses and prioritisation and planning labels.

The vendor positions all this as a way to align people and processes in one place, to save the effort of clarifications and avoid rework and delays. The application describes itself as usable by technical and non-technical people alike, aimed at cutting elicitation time, with specification documents either handled inside the service or downloaded for local use. Advertised benefits are listed as tiles: reduce time, improve product quality, simplify the work process, avoid rework, launch quicker, minimise the risk of failure.

Several structural capabilities are explicitly labelled as planned rather than delivered: ticket creation, test case management, version control, and Jira or Swagger integration. That distinction matters, because Jira integration is simultaneously listed as included in a paid plan.

The site shows a four-person team: Volodymyr Zakharov (Co-Founder & CTO), Valentyna Zakharova (Co-Founder & CEO), Roman Kovalevych (COO) and Mykhailo Zakharov (Team Lead). Two named testimonials appear, from Avner R. of CatAI and Roman K. of Healloo. The first Wayback Machine capture of the domain dates from 31 March 2023.

What it does

  • Generate a complete product document by answering a few questions about the product.
  • Break a PRD or a brief down into suggested features, then into detailed user stories.
  • Enrich user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Upload a screen mockup from your computer or from Figma and get specifications for every UI element detected.
  • Pick a document model from the template library and inject product-specific data into it.
  • Store documents, requirements and specifications in a single knowledge base.
  • Comment, set progress statuses, apply prioritisation labels and export to PDF from the Standard plan upwards.

When to use MindyGem / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if MindyGem is the right fit.

When to use MindyGem

  • Product managers and business analysts who write PRDs, epics and user stories and want a first draft generated from a short questionnaire.
  • Scrum masters and agile delivery leads who need consistent acceptance criteria ready before refinement and sprint planning.
  • Product designers and UX teams whose screen mockups have to be turned into written technical specifications, with Figma import supported.
  • Small product and engineering teams that want a shared requirements knowledge base with comments, statuses and prioritisation labels instead of scattered documents.
  • Founders, consultants and freelance developers specifying a product for a client or a dev team, at 19 USD per member per month after a 14-day trial.

When not to use MindyGem

  • Teams that need to feed requirements into their own systems: no public API and no API documentation are published.
  • People who work mainly from a phone or a tablet: no iOS or Android application is announced, the product ships as a web app only.
  • Organisations that require formal security and privacy assurances: no SOC 2 or ISO certification, no data processing agreement and no sub-processor list are published.
  • Teams looking for ticket creation, test case management or version control: these are still listed as planned features, not delivered ones.
  • Anyone who needs a permanently free plan or a non-English interface: only a 14-day trial exists, and no interface language other than English is documented.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Covers a full chain, from product document to features, user stories, acceptance criteria and technical specifications.
  • Generates specifications from a UI mockup - an entry point rarely offered by requirements management tools.
  • Figma import is advertised alongside local file upload for screen designs.
  • Low entry price for the category: 19 USD per member per month.
  • 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
  • Storage and collaboration are built in - comments, statuses, prioritisation labels - rather than a bare text generator.
  • Documents can be downloaded for local use, and viewer seats are included in every plan rather than billed at the full rate.

Cons

  • No legal identity is published: no registered company name, no postal address and no country of establishment appear anywhere on the site.
  • Both contractual documents linked in the footer are unreachable: the terms of service Google Doc returns HTTP 410 Gone and the refund policy file on Google Drive returns HTTP 404 (checked 11 August 2026).
  • Converging signs of a barely maintained site: the homepage "Watch a Video" link returns HTTP 404, the privacy policy still carries an unfilled template marker where security practices should be described, the homepage keeps unedited boilerplate ("Add your title here", "This is the text area for this paragraph") and four empty review cards, the blog stopped on 2 December 2023, the footer is frozen on "© 2025", and there is neither a robots.txt nor a sitemap.xml.
  • The site contradicts itself on Jira: "Jira Integration" is listed as included in the Standard plan, while the Planned Features section announces Jira integration as still to come.
  • No permanently free plan, and subscribing is not self-service: the "Get Started" buttons open a Calendly booking page instead of a checkout.
  • No API and no mobile application; the tool exists as a web app only.
  • No security certification, no data processing agreement, no sub-processor list, no stated data hosting country, and complete silence on whether customer data is used to train AI models.
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

There is no permanently free plan. MindyGem offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, then three paid tiers, all billed per member and per month: Basic at 19 USD, Standard at 29 USD and Premium at 99 USD. The lowest paid entry point is therefore 19.00 USD per member per month. No annual pricing and no annual discount are displayed, and the site indicates that a plan can be upgraded or downgraded later. Subscription is not completed online: the "Get Started" buttons open a Calendly booking page, and the refund policy linked in the footer was unreachable (HTTP 404) when checked on 11 August 2026.

Basic - 19 USD per member per month
  • document templates
  • user stories and epics
  • up to 3 viewer members
  • 1 GB of storage
  • 500 AI tokens.
Premium - 99 USD per member per month
  • unlimited tech design specs
  • custom document adding
  • up to 30 viewer members
  • unlimited storage

  • premium support.
Plan 4
  • All three plans open with the same 14-day free trial
  • with no credit card required.
Note
  • the pricing grid is absolutely positioned in the page
  • so the mapping of features to plans is inferred from the progression of the quotas (3/10/30 viewer members
  • 1 GB/2 GB/unlimited storage
  • 500/1000/unlimited AI tokens).
Special offers — 14-day free trial on all plans, with no credit card required. · No promotional code, annual discount, student, non-profit or startup offer is advertised.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how MindyGem handles your data.

GDPR overview

MindyGem never claims GDPR compliance, and never denies it either. The privacy policy, last updated on 13 August 2024, does use GDPR vocabulary: legal bases (performance of the contract, legitimate interests, legal and regulatory obligations) and a user rights section listing confirmation and access, a portable copy in a structured, machine-readable format, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and the right to "Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority". Rights are exercised by e-mail at info@mindygem.com. A dedicated section states that data leaving the EEA goes only to countries approved by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection, or under legal agreements ensuring an adequate level. What is missing matters as much: no Article 27 EU representative, no named DPO, no data processing agreement, no sub-processor list, and an unfilled template placeholder where security practices should be described.

Who owns the data?

The terms of service, linked in the site footer as a Google Doc, returned HTTP 410 Gone when checked on 11 August 2026, so no contractual statement about who owns the documents, requirements and specifications you generate could be read. The privacy policy, last updated on 13 August 2024, covers personal data only: registration details (full name, e-mail, job position, country) plus device data such as IP address, geolocation and device identifiers. It commits that "We do not rent, sell, or share Users' information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy". Ownership of user-generated content is simply never addressed anywhere on the site.

Reuse rights

With the terms of service unreachable (HTTP 410), no published clause restricts what you may do with the content you generate. The application's own description says a specification document can either be processed inside the service or downloaded for local use, which points to free reuse, but nothing confirms it contractually. On the vendor's side, the privacy policy lists its purposes for personal data: client communication, information about updates and services, advertising on the Site, marketing, and statistics and analytics for improvement. Data may be transferred to subsidiaries, affiliates and contractors, and shared with "trusted third party providers, who may be located in different jurisdictions across the world" for hosting, service delivery, storage and processing, research, technical diagnostics and analytics. Google Analytics is used, session, persistent and third-party cookies are set, and the policy states that the IP address it collects is not combined with identifying data. Marketing e-mails can be unsubscribed from; service messages keep coming. Nowhere does the policy say whether customer data is used to train AI models - it neither claims it nor rules it out.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
MindyGem gives no retention period in figures. Its privacy policy, in force since 13 August 2024, states that personal information is kept "for as long as necessary to provide our services, and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies". Actual durations are said to depend on the type of data and the purpose it serves, with outdated and unused data destroyed at the earliest reasonable time, while client records, account opening documents and communications are kept for as long as applicable regulation requires. Erasure is listed among user rights and is requested by e-mail at info@mindygem.com, the only contact channel published. Nothing is said about anonymisation, backups, or what becomes of the documents and specifications you generated once an account is closed.
GDPR contact

Hosting summary

MindyGem does not say where customer data is stored. No hosting country, region, cloud provider or data centre is named anywhere on the site, and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed. The privacy policy, last updated on 13 August 2024, says only that personal information may be shared with "trusted third party providers, who may be located in different jurisdictions across the world" for hosting, service delivery, storage and processing, research, technical diagnostics and analytics; none of those providers is named, and no sub-processor list is published. A dedicated section covers transfers outside the EEA: data goes only to countries approved by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection, or under legal agreements ensuring an adequate level. No data processing agreement is offered or even mentioned. For the record, the marketing site itself resolves to 198.185.159.145, a United States address, with the domain managed through Squarespace - that describes the public website's infrastructure, not where your requirements documents are held.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting MindyGem.

  • No one to hold accountable: with no registered company name, no address and no country published, there is no identifiable counterparty if the service stops, loses your documents or bills you wrongly.
  • You would be committing blind: the terms of service returned HTTP 410 Gone and the refund policy HTTP 404 on 11 August 2026, so neither the contract nor the refund rules can be read before paying.
  • Dormancy signals: the blog has been silent since 2 December 2023, the footer still reads "© 2025", the homepage keeps unedited template text and a broken "Watch a Video" link, and the privacy policy carries an unfilled placeholder where security practices should be described.
  • Buy what exists, not what is announced: ticket creation, test case management and version control are planned features, and Jira appears both as included in the Standard plan and as still to come.
  • Unknown data exposure: no hosting country, no sub-processor list, no data processing agreement, no security certification, and total silence on whether your content is used to train AI models - think twice before pasting confidential product plans.
  • Generated requirements still need a human: a document produced from a few answers or from a mockup looks finished long before it is correct, and a team that stops reading closely will simply ship its ambiguities faster, losing the shared understanding that writing requirements is meant to create.
  • Thin contact and commercial path: the only channels published are info@mindygem.com and a Spanish phone number (+34), and paying requires booking a Calendly slot rather than using a self-service checkout.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. MindyGem is a web application at app.mindygem.com: nothing to install, no API key, no SDK, no server configuration. You sign up online for the 14-day trial without a credit card, and the vendor states that technical and non-technical people alike can use it. Screen designs come in as local file uploads or through the Figma import. The only real friction is commercial rather than technical: moving to a paid plan means booking a Calendly appointment instead of paying online.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does MindyGem do?
It generates product documents, user stories, acceptance criteria and technical specifications, starting either from your answers to a short product questionnaire, from a PRD or brief you paste in, or from a screen mockup you upload. Everything is stored in a shared knowledge base with comments, statuses and labels.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The pricing page states: "Get started with a 14-day free trial of MindyGem - no credit card required!" The trial is the same on all three plans.
Is there a permanently free plan?
No. The pricing grid lists three paid tiers and none of them is free. Once the 14-day trial ends, the entry point is 19 USD per member per month.
How much does MindyGem cost?
Three plans, all billed per member and per month: Basic at 19 USD, Standard at 29 USD and Premium at 99 USD. No annual pricing or annual discount is shown, and the refund policy linked in the footer was unreachable (HTTP 404) on 11 August 2026.
Can I generate technical specifications from a design?
Yes. You upload a screen mockup from your computer or import it from Figma, add the missing information about the screen, and the tool returns specifications for every UI element it detects by ML method. Tech design specs are capped at 15 on the Standard plan and unlimited on Premium.
Does MindyGem integrate with Jira?
The site says both things at once. "Jira Integration" is listed among the features included in the Standard plan, while the Planned Features section announces Jira or Swagger integration as still to come. The contradiction is unresolved on the site, so ask the vendor before relying on it.
Is there an API?
No. Neither an API nor any API documentation is published on the site. Swagger appears only as a planned integration.
Is there a mobile app?
No. No iOS or Android application is announced; MindyGem is delivered as a web application at app.mindygem.com.
How do I subscribe to a paid plan?
Not through a checkout. The "Get Started" buttons on the pricing page open a Calendly booking page with the CEO, so moving to a paid plan goes through a conversation. The free trial itself starts directly from app.mindygem.com.
What happens to my data?
The privacy policy, last updated 13 August 2024, says nothing at all about whether customer data is used to train AI models. It gives no hosting country either, only "trusted third party providers, who may be located in different jurisdictions across the world", and frames transfers outside the EEA as going to countries the European Commission deems adequate. Data protection rights, including erasure, are exercised by e-mail at info@mindygem.com.
Conclusion

Should you pick MindyGem?

MindyGem has a clear and fairly uncommon proposition: technical specifications generated straight from a UI mockup, at the end of a coherent chain that runs from a product document to features, user stories and acceptance criteria. The entry price is accessible at 19 USD per member per month, and the 14-day trial needs no credit card. For a small product team that keeps rewriting the same specifications by hand, the promise is worth an hour of testing.

Against that, the corporate opacity is total: no registered company name, no postal address and no country of establishment appear anywhere. Both contractual documents linked in the footer were dead when checked on 11 August 2026 - the terms of service returned HTTP 410 Gone, the refund policy HTTP 404 - so you cannot read what you would be agreeing to, nor how a refund would work. Other signals point the same way: unedited template text and empty review cards on the homepage, an unfilled placeholder in the security section of the privacy policy, a blog silent since 2 December 2023, and a footer frozen on "© 2025". The features that would make this a complete requirements platform - ticket creation, test case management, version control - are still described as planned.

On the other side of the ledger, both the marketing site and the application respond, and the domain is registered until 21 February 2027. Treat MindyGem as a promising but unverified product: use the free trial, keep your exported documents locally, and ask the vendor directly for the terms of service, the refund policy, a data processing agreement and the real status of the Jira integration before committing budget or sensitive product plans.
