MAMA AI
MAMA AI builds custom enterprise AI for regulated organisations: agentic claims processing, semantic search, speech recognition and synthesis, machine translation and large language models, deployed on-premise or in secure cloud so client data stays in-house.
What is MAMA AI?
MAMA AI is the commercial brand of The MAMA AI, SE, a Czech European-company holding incorporated on 21 December 2020 and based at Revoluční 764/17 in central Prague. It is not a self-service SaaS product but a builder of bespoke enterprise AI: the products page describes the business as building customer solutions in conversational AI, speech recognition, speech synthesis, machine translation, telephony and AIOps.
The catalogue is organised around three families — Conversational AI, Speech, and Data to text — with named products layered on top: Agentic Systems for insurance claims, mSearch for semantic search, machine translation, domain-specific large language models, and ppt2video, a self-service widget that turns a slide deck into a narrated video from its speaker notes. Further products are named on the homepage without pages of their own: mCaption for meeting capture, mDataChat for questioning internal documents and databases, mVoice Studio for turning audio into content, and mTender for monitoring public registries and tenders.
Seven verticals are addressed explicitly: insurance, banking, media, manufacturing, healthcare, energy and geospatial. The geospatial offering predicts pipeline corrosion, leaks and ruptures and runs fully on-premises.
Credibility rests on origin. The founders came out of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in New York and Prague and co-founded the IBM Watson Group in 2014; the about page claims 25+ years of experience, and the homepage aggregates team-wide figures such as 5,782 scientific citations and 92 patent applications filed. Around forty-five people appear in the team gallery.
Five client case studies are named rather than anonymised: Kooperativa for claims, Česká spořitelna for IT helpdesk, the Czech Armed Forces for the virtual recruiter Adéla, Seznam Media for synthetic voices reading news, and FTV Prima for audio descriptions. The Adéla project won the 2024 Czech AI Awards in the AI for Government category.
The recurring commercial argument is control: on-premise or secure-cloud deployment, Kubernetes-native implementation, and the claim that your data never leaves your control. Engagement runs by consultation and quotation, with no public price for the enterprise offering.
What it does
- Automate end-to-end insurance claims handling, escalating to a human adjuster whenever the system is uncertain
- Search large document estates by meaning rather than keywords, including across different languages
- Transcribe speech in real time and synthesise natural-sounding voices, including bespoke ones
- Translate automatically with neural models adapted to the customer's own terminology
- Deploy text and voice assistants onto existing channels, backends and legacy systems
- Generate written or spoken reports automatically from structured data sources
- Monitor public registries and tender data continuously and extract the relevant information
When to use MAMA AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if MAMA AI is the right fit.
When to use MAMA AI
- Insurance carriers processing high volumes of claims, documents and voice interactions under regulatory and cost pressure
- Banks and financial institutions needing conversational self-service, IT helpdesk deflection and semantic search across financial documents
- Public bodies, defence and government organisations that require AI running inside their own infrastructure
- Media and broadcast teams industrialising subtitles, audio descriptions and synthetic-voice versions of written content
- Industrial, energy and utility operators wanting voice-based field reporting, predictive maintenance and semantic access to technical documentation
When not to use MAMA AI
- Individuals or small teams looking for a tool they can sign up for and start using the same day
- Buyers who need a published price list before they are willing to open a conversation
- Organisations that require a documented DPA, a subprocessor list or a certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 before procurement can proceed
- Developers wanting public API documentation and self-service credentials to build against
- Mobile-first users, since there is no iOS or Android application and no browser extension
How to use MAMA AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Identify the business problem, then make contact through the Ask MAMA form, the contacts anchor on the homepage, or the sales phone number and address in the footer
- Take the free, non-binding consultation offered across the site, and download the claims case study if insurance is the use case
- Go through the requirement analysis that opens every engagement, defining KPIs and measurable business outcomes up front
- Run the AI Readiness Audit, which identifies gaps in the data foundation before any model work begins
- Provide the in-domain data used to collect, train and adapt the models to your own terminology
- Agree the deployment mode: on-premise inside your own infrastructure, or a secure cloud environment
- Integrate the solution with existing backends and legacy systems, through the REST API or a Kubernetes-native deployment
- Validate the technology on a focused pilot before committing to anything wider
- Scale the validated pilot across the organisation, with continuing collaboration and support
- For ppt2video only, skip all of the above: add speaker notes to your slides, choose a voice and speed, drag the file in and convert
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Named and quantified client outcomes: 87% correct automatic proposals on Česká spořitelna's IT helpdesk, recruit registrations doubled from 1,700 to 3,500 for the Czech Armed Forces, and claims settled in 12 seconds at a major European insurer
- Systems presented as running in live operation rather than as proofs of concept, and backed by named references
- On-premise deployment is a genuine option throughout, which matters for regulated and sovereignty-sensitive buyers
- Deep and checkable technical pedigree out of IBM Watson Research, with 5,782 claimed scientific citations and 92 patent applications filed
- Auditability treated as a product feature, with every decision presented as traceable and sourced
- Industry recognition, having won the 2024 Czech AI Awards in the AI for Government category
- Established technology partnerships with NVIDIA, IBM, AWS, Red Hat, HPE and Kyndryl
Cons
- No public pricing whatsoever for the enterprise offering, not even an order of magnitude to budget against
- themama.ai publishes no privacy policy, no terms of service and no legal notice; the only legal documents belong to the ppt2video widget and are signed by a different group entity
- That privacy policy is a generic template declaring itself based on Canadian PIPEDA, which sits oddly with a Czech, EU-established company
- No GDPR claim, no DPA, no subprocessor list, no retention period and no hosting location are published anywhere
- No public API documentation despite a REST API being advertised, and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 on display
- Several products named on the homepage, including mCaption, mDataChat, mVoice Studio and mTender, have no descriptive page and lead only to a contact form
- Headline figures such as 148 years in speech research are cumulative person-years across the team rather than elapsed time, which misleads at a glance
Pricing & Plans
There is no free plan and no published price for the enterprise offering: every call to action leads to a contact form, and engagement proceeds by consultation and quotation. An initial consultation and the claims management case study are both offered free of charge and without obligation. Two peripheral offerings are priced publicly and should not be read as the price of the enterprise solutions: the ppt2video widget starts at EUR 10 above a free five-minute watermarked tier, and a seat at the AI Academy training day costs CZK 6,400 excluding VAT.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how MAMA AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
MAMA AI is established in the European Union, in Czechia, so the GDPR applies to it directly and no Article 27 representative is required or designated. Beyond that, there is no GDPR content on the site at all: the words GDPR and RGPD appear nowhere across the pages collected. No data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is offered and no subprocessor list exists. The only privacy policy the group publishes covers the ppt2video widget and, oddly for a Czech company, declares itself based on the Canadian Standards Association model code and Canada's PIPEDA rather than European law; it does give mama@themama.ai for privacy enquiries. Regulatory alignment is claimed elsewhere instead, with the agentic claims system described as an EU AI Act compliant and low-risk system. A cookie consent banner is in place.
Who owns the data?
No terms of service govern themama.ai itself. The only published legal documents cover the ppt2video widget on a product subdomain, and they are entered into by a different group entity, MAMA AI Coolma s.r.o., under Czech law. That policy states the company is responsible for personal information under its control, but it never names an owner of customer content. For the enterprise business, ownership is addressed commercially rather than contractually: MAMA AI markets on-premise or secure-cloud deployment and states that customer data never leaves the client's control. Anyone contracting for an enterprise project should expect ownership to be settled in a bespoke agreement rather than found on the website.
Reuse rights
The ppt2video terms grant a limited, revocable, non-transferable and non-exclusive licence to use the website for internal business purposes only. They explicitly forbid reproducing, duplicating, copying, selling, reselling or otherwise exploiting the service for any commercial purpose, and forbid extracting data from it by robot, spider or manual process. Nothing in the published documents restricts what a customer may do with the output it generates, so reuse of one's own converted videos appears unconstrained. On the enterprise side, MAMA AI offers to adapt and train models on the client's own in-domain data for that client's benefit; the site never mentions reusing customer data for anyone else.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
No hosting country or region is announced for customer data anywhere on the site or in the published documents. The model MAMA AI promotes is deployment inside the customer's own perimeter: on-premise or in a secure cloud environment, with the claim that customer data never leaves the client's control. Machine translation is offered as SaaS or on-premise at the customer's choice and is implemented natively on Kubernetes, and the geospatial platform is described as operating fully on-premises. In practice the hosting jurisdiction is likely to be whatever the customer chooses, and it should be fixed in the contract rather than looked up. One hosting fact is observable but concerns only the marketing site and not customer data: themama.ai resolves to 185.129.138.90 and is hosted in Czechia, in Prague, on AS24806 INTERNET CZ a.s. The vendor itself is established in Czechia, and the ppt2video terms name Czech law as governing.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting MAMA AI.
- The legal documents you can actually read do not cover what you would be buying: they govern a PowerPoint widget and bind a different subsidiary, so the enterprise terms are whatever gets negotiated
- With no published retention period, hosting location or subprocessor list, you cannot assess where your data will live or how long it will stay there without asking directly
- Automated claims decisions carry real consequences for real people; the escalate-to-human safeguard is described by the vendor but not independently audited, and trusting it blindly would place fairness questions on an unaccountable footing
- Voice cloning and bespoke synthetic voices are part of the offering, which raises consent and impersonation risks whenever the voice of a real employee or presenter is reproduced
- Headline statistics on the homepage are cumulative person-years and self-reported citation counts; reading them as company age or as independent validation flatters the vendor
- The EU AI Act compliance claim is self-assessed rather than certified by a third party, and the broadcast compliance mentioned in a testimonial belongs to the client, not to MAMA AI
- Handing document search and drafting to a semantic system can erode the institutional habit of reading source material, leaving staff less able to notice when the system is confidently wrong
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
High for the enterprise offering, which is a project rather than an installation. The advertised sequence runs from requirement analysis and an AI Readiness Audit through data collection and model training, integration and deployment, to collaboration and support, validated on a focused pilot before scaling. Integration is claimed to be straightforward with existing backends and legacy systems via REST API or a Kubernetes-native deployment, but on-premise operation demands infrastructure and data expertise on the client side. The exception is ppt2video, which needs nothing at all: drag a deck into the browser and convert.

Should you pick MAMA AI?
MAMA AI is a systems-integration business wearing a product catalogue. Behind the named tools — mSearch, Agentic Systems, ppt2video — sits a team that scopes, trains, integrates and supports bespoke AI for large organisations, and that is how it should be judged. The technical pedigree is real and checkable: founders out of IBM Watson Research, five named client case studies across insurance, banking, defence and broadcast, and a 2024 Czech AI Award. The quantified outcomes are attributed to named clients rather than floating free, which is rarer than it should be.
The weakness is transparency of a different kind. themama.ai publishes no privacy policy, no terms and no legal notice; the only legal documents the group offers cover a peripheral PowerPoint-to-video widget, are signed by a different subsidiary, and lean on Canadian privacy law rather than European. Nowhere does the site claim GDPR compliance, offer a DPA, list subprocessors, state a retention period or name a hosting country. For a vendor selling to insurers, banks and armed forces, that gap has to be closed in contract rather than found on the website.
Pricing follows the same pattern: nothing public for the enterprise offering, and the two prices that are public belong to a self-service widget and a training course.
The practical reading is straightforward. If you are a regulated organisation with an identified problem, data that cannot leave your own infrastructure, and a procurement process able to negotiate legal terms from scratch, MAMA AI is a credible European alternative to the large integrators. If you want to evaluate a tool this afternoon, compare prices, or read a data processing agreement before your first call, this is not that kind of vendor.
