Coursebox turns a prompt or an uploaded document into a complete online course, generating quizzes, avatar videos, branching scenarios and an AI tutor, then hosts it on a white-label LMS or exports it as SCORM.
What is Coursebox?
Coursebox is an Australian platform that pairs an AI course generator with a learning management system, so that the same tool both writes the training and delivers it. You start either with a prompt describing your topic, audience and goals, or by uploading documents such as PDFs, Word files or PowerPoint decks. Coursebox plans the course outline, then builds a full draft in minutes, deciding for itself what mix of formats fits the subject: videos, quizzes, branching scenarios, diagrams, case studies.
Each generator is worth naming separately. Quizzes can be multiple choice, scenario-based or open-ended, with adjustable difficulty, and even written answers are graded by AI with an explanation of why each response is right or wrong. Videos are scripted from your own course content and presented by one of more than 500 avatars, or by an avatar built from a photo you upload, in over 100 languages, with your logo, colours and backgrounds. Scenarios put learners into a situation where the AI plays the other character and reacts to their decisions. An image generator produces diagrams, charts, infographics and photos on request. Every course can carry its own AI tutor, trained on that course's material and available at any hour.
Editing happens either in a drag-and-drop builder or by telling the AI what to change, an approach the company calls Ask Coursebox. Delivery is equally flexible: you can publish inside a Coursebox platform stripped of every trace of Coursebox branding, complete with your own domain, emails and certificates, or export the course as SCORM or LTI into Moodle, Canvas, Cornerstone, TalentLMS or another system you already run. Courses can also be priced and sold, with payments through Stripe, PayPal or Paystack and storefronts on Shopify or WooCommerce.

GDPR overview
GDPR compliance here is documented rather than merely asserted. Coursebox Pty Ltd holds a GDPR certification issued by AQSR, itself accredited by USAC, under certificate number 17412, current from July 2026 after an annual surveillance audit; the site invites independent verification at aqsrworld.com. Sub-processors are engaged under Article 28 and named one by one, transfers outside the EU or EEA rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (Module Two), and a Data Processing Agreement is supplied on request. Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest, and EU AI Act Article 50 transparency measures have applied since 2 August 2026. Two gaps stand out: no EU representative is designated under Article 27, which is unusual for an Australian company serving European users, and no data protection officer is named.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of use you keep every intellectual property right in the content you upload, and you also keep the rights to the AI outputs the platform generates for you. In exchange, Coursebox Pty Ltd receives a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, cache, index, transform (including creating embeddings and vectors) and display that content, in order to operate, secure and improve the service. Coursebox keeps ownership of its own intellectual property, and the ratings and reviews collected on the platform belong to it. Where a Private Portal is involved, the client operating that portal, not Coursebox, answers for the personal data gathered through it.
Reuse rights
You may reuse what you create without asking anyone: account holders and users retain their intellectual property rights in both uploaded material and AI outputs, so courses can be published, exported, rebranded and sold freely. That freedom is deliberate rather than incidental. A standalone SCORM package keeps working after a subscription ends, which means the output is not held hostage by the subscription. Coursebox's own reuse is narrower and is spelled out. It processes content to run the service and its AI features, including retrieval-augmented generation, and it relies on named sub-processors: Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Neural TTS, Google Cloud and Gemini, OpenAI, HeyGen, Mistral, Amazon Web Services, and Plain AI with Anthropic. The security page states that customer content and learner data are never used to train or fine-tune AI models unless explicitly agreed in writing, while the terms separately allow training of base foundation models where the account holder consents. Anyone sensitive to that distinction should get it settled in writing.

Hosting summary
By default every Coursebox portal runs on Google Cloud Platform inside the European Union, in the France region, on infrastructure certified to ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018 and SOC 2. The architecture is redundant, backups are taken daily and kept for fourteen days, and data is encrypted with TLS in transit and at rest. Business and Enterprise customers may choose a different Google Cloud region to match their own infrastructure or data residency obligations. Where personal data does leave the EU or EEA, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses, Module Two. AI processing runs on Microsoft's private Azure OpenAI service rather than the public OpenAI API. One caveat deserves attention: the privacy policy states that services and personal data are predominantly hosted in Australia, which directly contradicts the France-by-default claim made elsewhere on the site, and the terms add that residency is not guaranteed without a signed Enterprise agreement.
