Overview

What is NATIX Network?

NATIX Network is a decentralised physical infrastructure network — a DePIN, which the company now calls DePAI — built on a single premise: the cameras already driving around cities are the cheapest sensor network anyone will ever assemble. Its homepage reports 2,890,321 registered drivers, 1,932,230 kilometres mapped and more than 165,000 hours of multi-camera footage collected each month across 33 countries.

The product carrying the network today is the VX360, a compact box that plugs into the USB port in a Tesla's glovebox. It supports Model S and Model X from 2021, plus Model 3, Model Y and the Cybertruck, and packs a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7, 256 GB of storage, an L1-band GNSS module, Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi — enough for more than twenty hours of recording from the car's four cameras. A companion app for iOS and Android pairs with the box, uploads footage over home Wi-Fi and tracks earnings.

Three streams come back: Tesla Dashcam clips, Sentry Mode recordings, and VX360 Clips captured during active driving. Only the last are monetised, and only when speed, distance and time-window criteria are met, outside sensitive locations such as military sites and hospitals and outside the private zones a driver defines. Everything passes through anonymisation that blurs faces and licence plates, and NATIX states the cabin camera is never accessed.

On the selling side there are four offerings: raw multi-camera data, edge cases and long-tail scenarios indexed by a vision-language model, simulation scenarios in OpenScenario and OpenDrive formats, and access to the VX360 footage itself. Named customers and partners include Valeo, Autoware, GrabMaps, NomadicML and MaprGo, alongside in-house work such as StreetVision on Bittensor subnet #72 and the WorldSeek vision-language model.

The economy runs on $NATIX, a Solana token used for rewards, staking and governance. Drive&, the smartphone app that launched the network in 2022 and drew more than 270,000 drivers, was retired on 1 July 2026 so that everything could be pointed at the VX360. Two entities sit behind it all: NATIX GmbH in Hamburg, named in the imprint, and NATIX Network Limited in the British Virgin Islands, the contracting party and data controller.

What it does

  • Records and backs up a Tesla's four-camera Dashcam and Sentry Mode footage to a personal cloud
  • Pays drivers in $NATIX tokens for the road data they contribute
  • Blurs faces and licence plates automatically through computer-vision anonymisation
  • Supplies multi-camera driving datasets to autonomous-driving and Physical AI companies
  • Extracts and ranks edge cases and long-tail scenarios using IMU signals and a vision-language model
  • Turns real traffic trajectories into OpenScenario and OpenDrive simulation files
  • Detects map attributes on-device — traffic signs, traffic lights, potholes and road damage

When to use NATIX Network / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if NATIX Network is the right fit.

When to use NATIX Network

  • Autonomous-driving and Physical AI teams that need real multi-camera road footage for training and validation
  • Map publishers looking for fresh street-level imagery and dynamic road attributes such as signs and closures
  • Cities and road authorities building a live inventory of traffic signs, lights and pavement damage
  • Tesla owners with a 2021 or newer car who want to monetise cameras they have already paid for
  • Tesla fleet operators who need cloud backup of dashcam and Sentry footage across several vehicles

When not to use NATIX Network

  • Drivers of non-Tesla vehicles, or of Teslas built before 2021 — the VX360 is not compatible
  • Anyone living outside the closed list of sales countries, where neither the app nor $NATIX rewards are available
  • People under eighteen, who cannot register under the terms of use
  • Data buyers who need a published price list: dataset access is quote-only, through a contact form
  • Organisations that require a formal security certification or a signed data processing agreement — neither is offered
Get started

How to use NATIX Network

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Check your Tesla qualifies, then order the VX360 Ultimate Set from the NATIX shop, or from a reseller if you are in Norway, Switzerland, Canada or Singapore
  2. Plug the box into the glovebox USB port using the supplied cable — no tools and no wiring are needed
  3. Install the VX360 companion app on iOS or Android and create an account, confirming it by email or SMS
  4. Pair the box with your phone over Bluetooth and complete the onboarding of both device and app
  5. Connect the VX360 to your home Wi-Fi through the app so recordings upload once you are parked
  6. Grant every permission the app requests — footage that misses a setup requirement is neither stored nor rewarded
  7. Define private zones around your home or office to keep those areas out of collection entirely
  8. Drive with the box connected to the app for the whole session and follow your earnings in real time
  9. View, share or download recordings in the app within the thirty-day cloud window, or unplug the box and copy files to a computer
  10. Companies wanting the data instead submit the Request data form on the Use Cases page, selecting mapping, autonomous driving or robotics

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Real hardware that ships, with published specifications, a manual and apps live on both mobile stores
  • Legal documentation that is unusually thorough for a crypto project, including a public notice for people filmed in the street
  • Nineteen sub-processors named individually in the privacy policy annex
  • Anonymisation and on-device processing described in technical detail rather than merely asserted
  • Named and verifiable industrial partners, among them Valeo, Autoware and GrabMaps
  • Installation takes three steps and requires no tools and no technical skill
  • The box doubles as a personal cloud backup for dashcam footage, independently of any earnings

Cons

  • Works only with Teslas from 2021 onwards; no other vehicle qualifies
  • Sales and rewards are confined to a closed list of countries, with Alaska explicitly excluded
  • Earnings are paid in a volatile token, and the headline figure is pegged to the token price in January 2026
  • Cloud retention lasts thirty days, after which footage is deleted automatically
  • The contracting party and data controller sits in the British Virgin Islands, with no EU Article 27 representative designated
  • No security certification, no customer data processing agreement, and no documented way to keep contributed data out of model training
  • Dataset pricing is quote-only, and the data API is marketed commercially without any public documentation

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how NATIX Network handles your data.

GDPR overview

NATIX makes an explicit claim rather than an implicit one: the VX360 terms state that personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. The privacy policy follows the regulation's own architecture — controller under Article 4(7), legal bases under Article 6, data-subject rights answered within thirty days, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. A separate public notice, unusual in this field, addresses people filmed in the street: it relies on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) and on the Article 14(5)(b) exemption from individual notification. Nineteen sub-processors are named in an annex. Two gaps stand out. The controller, NATIX Network Limited, is established in the British Virgin Islands, yet no EU representative is designated under Article 27 anywhere on the site, and no data protection officer is named — requests go to a general support address.

Who owns the data?

Under the VX360 app terms you keep ownership and all intellectual property rights in the Location Based Data you upload. What NATIX receives is a licence, not a transfer: royalty-free, non-exclusive and worldwide, and it reaches well beyond NATIX itself, extending to its affiliates, service providers, licensees, successors and assigns. That licence is bounded by four stated purposes — operating and improving the app, aggregating and analysing data into commercial products and services, validating reward eligibility and preventing fraud, and meeting legal obligations. It runs for as long as those purposes reasonably require, does not transfer ownership, and does not allow NATIX to attribute your footage to you personally without consent. The controller is NATIX Network Limited, in the British Virgin Islands.

Reuse rights

Yes, within limits. Because ownership stays with you, nothing in the terms restricts what you do with your own recordings: you can view, share and download them through the companion app while they sit in your personal cloud, and you can unplug the device and copy the files straight to a computer. The constraint is time rather than permission — cloud access is withdrawn after one month or once stored footage reaches 3 TB, and downloads are capped at 70 GB per month. Separately, what you contribute is anonymised, aggregated and resold by NATIX as commercial datasets; that resale is precisely what the licence granted at upload covers, and the documents describe no mechanism for withdrawing individual clips from it afterwards.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Footage in your personal cloud is kept for one month, or until stored volume reaches 3 TB, whichever comes first, after which it is removed automatically. Other categories run on their own clocks: correspondence and answers to requests, twelve months at most; point-attribution and anti-fraud data, twelve months at most; newsletter and marketing data, until consent is withdrawn and never beyond twenty-four months; account data, for as long as the contract and the support attached to it last; and records kept for legal or tax obligations, up to ten years. The public notice describes retention of raw video as time-limited without giving a figure. The app also offers an opt-in to retain your username, email or phone number and performance data in case a new product launches.

Hosting summary

NATIX names no hosting country and no hosting region anywhere on the site. The privacy policy says only that personal data is processed at the headquarters of the controller and on the servers hosting the backend of the app. That headquarters is in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Using cloud providers established outside the European Economic Area is explicitly contemplated, and where that happens NATIX says transfers rest on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or other safeguards provided for in the GDPR. The infrastructure vendors are at least named in the sub-processor annex — MongoDB, Google for BigQuery, Analytics, Tag Manager and Looker Studio, plus Firebase, Microsoft and Mapbox among nineteen entries — which sketches an indirect picture without saying where any given dataset physically sits. Declared safeguards cover encryption, secured servers, role-based access control and transfer control. Anyone with a data-residency requirement should treat the location as unspecified and ask before committing.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting NATIX Network.

  • The company you contract with is not the one on the imprint: the terms and privacy policy name NATIX Network Limited in the British Virgin Islands under BVI law, while the German imprint names NATIX GmbH in Hamburg
  • No EU representative is designated under Article 27 of the GDPR even though the data controller is established outside the European Union
  • The advertised earnings of up to USD 60 per month are tied to the token exchange rate in January 2026 and carry an explicit variability warning, and the six-to-twelve-month payback assumes an unquantified minimum weekly contribution
  • Paying by the kilometre, inside a gamified app that promises a payback horizon, creates a quiet pressure to drive more than you otherwise would — worth watching in yourself before the numbers start deciding your routes
  • The licence you grant over your footage can be passed on to NATIX's affiliates, service providers, licensees, successors and assigns
  • The criteria deciding whether a clip earns anything — speed, distance, time windows — can be adjusted unilaterally and are published outside the terms, and cloud access to your own recordings ends after thirty days
  • Drive&, the app that built this network, was closed on 1 July 2026 and remaining balances now go through a manual email claims process, a reminder that a product here can be withdrawn
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. The hardware side is three steps: plug the box into the glovebox USB port with the supplied cable, pair it to your phone over Bluetooth, then point it at your home Wi-Fi from the app. No tools, no wiring, no technical skill. Creating the account adds a double opt-in by email or SMS. The one real demand is diligence rather than difficulty — both device and app must be fully onboarded with every permission granted, and the box must stay connected to the app for the whole drive, or the footage is neither stored nor rewarded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is the NATIX VX360?
A compact box that plugs into the USB port in a Tesla's glovebox. It backs up your Dashcam and Sentry Mode footage to a personal cloud and pays you in $NATIX tokens for the driving data you contribute to the network.
Which Teslas work with it?
Model S and Model X from 2021 onwards, plus Model 3, Model Y and the Cybertruck. Vehicles released before 2021 are not supported.
What does it cost?
USD 379.00 for the VX360 Ultimate Set, hardware and firmware included. It is a one-off purchase with no subscription. Paying in USDC through Solana Pay returns 10% as cashback within thirty days.
How much can I earn?
NATIX advertises up to USD 60 per month in $NATIX. That figure is based on the token exchange rate in January 2026 and is explicitly flagged as variable. Payback is put at six to twelve months, subject to a minimum weekly contribution the site does not quantify.
Where can I buy it?
Directly from the NATIX shop in the United States excluding Alaska, in European Union countries, the United Kingdom and Japan. Norway, Switzerland, Canada and Singapore are served through resellers. The companion app and $NATIX rewards are limited to those same countries.
How long is my footage kept?
Thirty days in your personal cloud, with a ceiling of 3 TB and downloads capped at 70 GB per month. Anything older is removed automatically to make room for new recordings.
Is the cabin camera recorded?
No. NATIX states the VX360 has no access to the Tesla's interior camera, and faces and licence plates in uploaded footage are blurred by AI. Nothing is collected while the car is parked or inside the private zones you define.
Who am I actually contracting with?
Two entities appear. The German imprint names NATIX GmbH in Hamburg. The terms of use and the privacy policy name NATIX Network Limited, registered in the British Virgin Islands, as the contracting party and data controller, with BVI law governing.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Users must have reached the age of eighteen at the time of registration, under the app's terms of use.
How do I get support?
By email at carappsupport@natix.network, or through the NATIX Discord and Telegram channels and the Zendesk help centre.
Conclusion

Should you pick NATIX Network?

NATIX Network is one of the rare crypto-adjacent projects whose product you can actually hold. The VX360 ships, its specifications are published, the companion apps are live on both mobile stores, and the industrial partners named on the site — Valeo, Autoware, GrabMaps — are verifiable. The legal documentation is thorough by any standard, and the public privacy notice written for people filmed in the street is something most data collectors never bother to produce. For an autonomous-driving or mapping team hunting for real multi-camera road data, the offer is credible and unusually well documented.

The reservations are structural rather than cosmetic. Everything depends on owning a Tesla built in 2021 or later, and on living in one of a short list of countries. Contributors are paid in a volatile token, and the advertised earnings are anchored to a token price from January 2026 with an explicit warning attached. The entity you contract with is registered in the British Virgin Islands under BVI law, not the German company named in the imprint, and no EU representative is designated under Article 27 despite that arrangement. There is no security certification, no data processing agreement for users, and no documented way to keep contributed footage out of model training.

The closure of Drive& in July 2026 is worth holding in mind: the app that built this network, with more than 270,000 drivers behind it, was retired in favour of the VX360, and outstanding balances now move through a manual claims process. The concentration makes strategic sense. It also shows how quickly a product here can be withdrawn.
