Overview

What is RunDiffusion?

RunDiffusion is a cloud workspace, published by Runnit, Inc. of Lehi, Utah, that gathers the generative image and video models a creative team would otherwise subscribe to one by one. From a single browser account you reach Flux 2, Nano Banana 2, Seedream, Z-Image, Qwen Image, Recraft, Ideogram, Bria and ChatGPT Image on the still side, and Veo 3.1, Kling, Sora 2, Wan, Seedance, Hailuo 2, Luma Ray 2, Pixverse and LTX-2 on the moving side. Alongside them sit the house-trained Juggernaut models, a Flux-based series the company describes as the most downloaded generative model family in the world, with more than 12 million downloads across Hugging Face and Civitai.

The platform is not only a model directory. Runnit Boards let you chain tools, models and assets into a repeatable workflow, so a sketch can travel to a render, then to an upscale, then to a short animation without leaving the page. Exclusive utilities cover the unglamorous work: removing a person or an object, cutting out a background, turning a building sketch into a render, producing a professional headshot or a video thumbnail. Teams that prefer raw open-source software can start a hosted ComfyUI, Automatic1111, Fooocus or Kohya session in one click and never touch a local GPU; the licences of those projects are published on the site and the company states that it does not modify them.

The second half of the product is aimed at whoever signs the invoice. Enterprise workspaces bring SAML single sign-on with Okta, Azure AD or Google, role-based permissions, per-team and per-project budgets with chargeback, model-family blocking, token cooldowns, audit logging and per-user reporting exportable to CSV or through the public API. The company advertises a 99.9% uptime target and states, repeatedly, that customer prompts, assets and trained models are never used to train its own models or any third-party model.

RunDiffusion says it was founded in October 2022, born from its founders' own struggle to install Automatic1111 locally. It claims more than 500,000 customers, 50 million generated images and a 33,000-member Discord community - figures published by the vendor and not independently verified.

What it does

  • Generate images from text or from an existing image across dozens of models
  • Generate and animate videos, from camera moves to production effects
  • Edit visuals: inpaint, remove objects and people, replace backgrounds
  • Train a custom LoRA model on your own brand and style
  • Upscale and restore low-resolution assets
  • Chain tools into repeatable workflows on Runnit Boards
  • Control AI spend by team, project or user and export the reports

When to use RunDiffusion / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if RunDiffusion is the right fit.

When to use RunDiffusion

  • Creative studios and in-house design teams juggling several generative AI subscriptions who want one login, one invoice and one licence
  • Architecture, interior design and construction practices turning sketches and Revit models into renders, with a dedicated plugin in private beta
  • Advertising, brand and social teams producing campaign visuals, product shots, thumbnails and lookbooks at volume
  • IT, security and finance owners who need to see and cap what generative AI costs, and who controls which models
  • Stable Diffusion power users who want ComfyUI, Automatic1111, Fooocus or Kohya and LoRA training without owning or maintaining a GPU

When not to use RunDiffusion

  • Organisations handling data covered by HIPAA, FISMA or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act: the terms explicitly forbid using the site in those cases
  • Legal and procurement teams that require a signed data processing agreement, a published subprocessor list or an acquired SOC 2 certification, none of which exist here
  • Buyers who need EU data residency, since the servers sit in the United States and no European option is offered
  • Anyone who wants a refund safety net: all sales are final and no refund is issued
  • Users looking for text, code, audio or music generation, or for a mobile app, as the platform is visual only and browser only

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Dozens of proprietary and open-source models under a single subscription, instead of one account per vendor
  • A clear and repeated position on training: customer prompts, assets and trained models are never used to train the vendor's models or third-party models
  • Ownership of data and of trained models stays with the customer, both in the terms and on the enterprise pages
  • Governance tooling that is rare in this market: per-team budgets, role-based access, SSO, model-family blocking and per-user analytics
  • A complete public price list, from free to enterprise, with a 24-row feature comparison table
  • A permanent free plan and a no-signup demo, so the models can be tested before any payment
  • In-house Juggernaut models with traction verifiable outside the platform, at more than 12 million downloads

Cons

  • No refunds whatsoever: all sales are final, on every plan
  • A thin compliance file for an enterprise pitch: no published DPA, no subprocessor list beyond Stripe, no EU Article 27 representative, and SOC 2 Type 2 only described as in progress
  • Hosting is United States only, with no EU data residency option
  • Displayed prices default to annual billing; month-to-month costs about a quarter more, at USD 10.99 instead of USD 8.79 on the Hobby plan
  • The Pro token allowance is advertised as a wide range, 30,000 to 240,000 per month, rather than a firm figure
  • The Photoshop, Miro and Revit plugins are still in private beta, and the developers page labels the API and MCP server as coming soon even though the documentation is already live
  • No iOS or Android application, and on the free plan files are only kept for 72 hours

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how RunDiffusion handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is addressed concretely, although the site never writes the words "we are GDPR compliant". The privacy policy, effective 2 July 2026, lists the legal bases used for EU and UK visitors - consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations and vital interests - and states that transfers outside the EEA and the UK rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and protection against solely automated decisions are all offered, through a dedicated DSAR form, with the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Section 7 of the terms carries the data protection commitments. What is missing is equally concrete: no Article 27 EU representative is named, no data protection officer is designated, no DPA is published, and Stripe is the only processor named.

Who owns the data?

Under section 12 of the terms, end users keep ownership of all data they provide or generate through the service. In exchange they grant Runnit, Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, copy, store, transmit and otherwise process that data in order to run, secure, monitor and improve the platform, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce the terms and comply with the law. The enterprise pages go further and describe prompts, assets and any model you train as your exclusive intellectual property. The company retains ownership of its own software, documentation and trademarks, and warns that it cannot guarantee API keys used by third parties.

Reuse rights

Generated images, videos and trained models belong to the user, who may reuse them commercially without asking permission: the platform is sold with a commercial licence covering professional use of its models, and Runnit, Inc. claims no rights over the outputs. The licence granted in return runs only in the other direction and is operational: running, securing, monitoring and improving the service, fighting fraud and meeting legal obligations. The vendor states that prompts, assets and trained models are never fed to its own models or to third-party models. Two limits apply. The terms forbid uploading copyrighted images, or images of identifiable people, without the owner's or the subject's consent. And both the terms and the privacy policy reserve the right to review account activity, prompts, uploads and generated outputs, through automated systems and by authorised staff, for security, fraud prevention and compliance purposes.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Data is kept only as long as it is needed, and in practice for as long as your account exists; a longer period applies only where the law requires it. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised, and where deletion is impossible, inside backups for example, it is securely isolated until it can be removed. You can ask for your account to be deactivated or deleted by writing to support, or use the dedicated DSAR form; some data may still be kept for security, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Storage rules differ by plan: files persist between sessions, the free plan keeps its 10 GB of cloud storage for 72 hours, and Creators Club members get 100 GB of private storage with no deletion policy. No specific retention period is published for prompts, generations or logs.

Hosting summary

Hosting is entirely American. The privacy policy states plainly that the company's servers are located in the United States, and the terms warn that accessing the site from anywhere else means transferring your data to the United States. Data may also be processed in other countries where service providers operate, but those countries are not named. For visitors in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. The enterprise pages claim encryption in transit and at rest, and the terms provide for daily backups of user data together with a documented disaster recovery plan. The domain resolves to an anycast address on Amazon infrastructure, geolocated in the United States. No EU or regional data residency option is offered, and the vendor names no hosting region beyond the country itself.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting RunDiffusion.

  • All sales are final, on every plan, so there is no way back once a subscription is paid: test on the free plan first
  • The prices shown by default are the annual rates, and the pre-selected yearly toggle makes the monthly commitment look cheaper than it is
  • The mention of SOC 2 Type 2 in progress sits inside a product screenshot, not in a compliance statement: quoting it in a security questionnaire would misrepresent it
  • The terms and the privacy policy both allow automated and human review of prompts, uploads and generated outputs, so confidential briefs should not be pasted in casually
  • Photorealistic people and brand-accurate products are easy to produce and easy to publish misleadingly; the terms forbid uploading copyrighted work or images of identifiable people without consent, and that responsibility sits with the user
  • Leaning on presets and one-click workflows can quietly erode a team's own craft, as framing, art direction and retouching skills fade when every asset starts from a prompt
  • Everything is hosted in the United States with no European residency option, and the developer programme is still labelled as coming soon, so both should be checked before a production pipeline is built on top
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for most users. Nothing is installed and no GPU is managed: a free account opens in seconds, and the packaged tools are simple forms asking for a prompt, a model and an image size. Two levels above that need more effort. Hosted ComfyUI, Automatic1111, Fooocus and Kohya sessions launch in one click but remain expert interfaces, and Runnit Boards take some learning before workflows become productive. LoRA training requires preparing an image set. Enterprise rollout is handled for you: the vendor says a Solutions Engineer configures SAML single sign-on in under an hour during a guided onboarding.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it is permanent rather than a countdown trial. It gives up to 100 tokens per day, access to the hosted open-source applications such as ComfyUI and Automatic1111, 10 GB of cloud storage retained for 72 hours, and three Runnit Boards.
What does the cheapest paid plan cost?
Runnit Hobby costs USD 10.99 per month on monthly billing, or USD 8.79 per month when billed annually, a 20% discount. Be aware that the pricing page displays the annual rate by default, so the headline figure is not the month-to-month price.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. RunDiffusion states, in both its pricing FAQ and its enterprise FAQ, that customer prompts, assets and trained models are never used to train its own models or any third-party model.
Who owns the images, videos and models I create?
You do. Section 12 of the terms leaves ownership of all user data with the end user, and the enterprise pages describe prompts, assets and any model you train as your exclusive intellectual property. The company keeps only an operational licence needed to run and secure the service.
Where is my data hosted?
In the United States. The privacy policy states that the servers are located there, and transfers from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. No European data residency option is offered.
Is there an API?
Yes. A public REST API is documented on the site, covering boards, generation, cost preview, run status, webhooks, library, reporting, teams, tools and uploads. API Mode is included from the Creators Club + Pro plan upwards.
Can I get a refund?
No. The refund policy is explicit: all sales are final and no refund will be issued. Testing on the free plan, or on the free Juggernaut demo, before subscribing is therefore strongly advisable.
Is RunDiffusion SOC 2 certified?
No. The only mention anywhere on the site reads SOC 2 Type 2 in progress, and it appears inside a product interface screenshot rather than on a trust or compliance page. It should be treated as a roadmap item, not as a certification.
What is the minimum age to use the service?
Eighteen. People under eighteen may only use or register for the service under the supervision of an adult who is at least eighteen years old.
Is there a mobile app?
No. RunDiffusion runs in the browser, and no iOS or Android application is published. Plugins for Photoshop, Miro and Revit exist but remain in private beta.
Conclusion

Should you pick RunDiffusion?

RunDiffusion answers a very concrete problem: a design studio that today pays for four or five separate generative services, each with its own login, quota and invoice. Putting Flux, Veo, Kling, Seedream, Sora and a dozen more behind one subscription is genuinely useful, and the governance layer built around it - budgets per team, role-based access, single sign-on, per-user reporting - is unusually complete for this segment. The stance on training is equally clear and repeated in more than one place: customer prompts, assets and trained models are never used to train the vendor's models or anyone else's, and the terms leave ownership of user data with the user.

The gap is in the paperwork. For a product sold to enterprise procurement, the compliance file is thin. No data processing agreement is published or offered, no subprocessor list exists beyond a single mention of Stripe, no EU Article 27 representative is named despite detailed GDPR clauses, and the only SOC 2 reference on the whole site reads SOC 2 Type 2 (in progress), inside a product screenshot. Hosting is entirely in the United States, with no European residency option.

Two commercial details deserve attention. The headline prices are the annual ones, so month-to-month billing costs about a quarter more than the figure shown. And the refund policy is absolute: all sales are final.

The sensible way in is therefore the permanent free plan, or the demo that needs no account at all: test the models you actually need before committing, because you will not get your money back. For a creative team consolidating several subscriptions and wanting visibility on its AI spend, RunDiffusion is a strong candidate. For an organisation whose legal department requires a signed DPA and an acquired certification, it is not ready yet.
