Overview

What is 2-b.ai?

2-b.ai is an AI-assisted to-do list delivered as a Chrome extension rather than as yet another web application. It is published by Parc, a Korean company whose founder and CEO, Dongjin Lee, is based in Seoul. The positioning is stated plainly on the homepage: a zero-setup to-do list, built into the browser, that turns any web context into a managed task.

The mechanic is deliberately narrow. Pin the extension to the toolbar, press Cmd/Ctrl+J on the page you are reading, highlight the sentence that matters and click '+'. The highlighted text becomes a task — whether it came from Gmail, Slack, the web version of Notion, a Google Doc, a news article or any other page. Nothing is copied, nothing is pasted, and the tab you were working in never closes.

What happens next is where the AI earns its place. A vague task is analyzed and cut into actionable sub-steps automatically, and those sub-steps can be reshaped by talking to the assistant instead of editing fields. The same assistant then helps execute: drafting an email or a document from the task's context, summarizing a long article, translating a foreign-language document, or searching for the information a task is missing. The built-in chatbot runs on GPT-4o-mini, and no separate OpenAI or ChatGPT account is required — model access is bundled. Sign-in is through Google OAuth only, with no password stored. Google Calendar can be imported so that appointments and tasks sit in one list; further integrations are announced but not shipped.

The publisher is candid about the ceiling. 2-b.ai does not work on Google's main search results page, nor inside desktop applications, both being Chrome extension limits, and some sites block extensions from reading their content outright. A desktop app is described as under development.

Maturity should be read for what it is. On 9 August 2026 the Chrome Web Store listing showed version 1.0.5, last updated on 10 January 2026, weighing 17.73 MB, with 127 users and a 4.8 rating from six reviews, filed under Workflow & Planning. The interface exists in English and Korean. The extension carries the store's Created by the owner of the listed website badge, and the product was launched on Product Hunt. Payments run through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and data is hosted on AWS in the United States.

What it does

  • Highlight any text on a web page and turn it into a task in one click
  • Let the AI break a vague task down into concrete, actionable steps
  • Chat with the AI to create, edit, link or delete tasks
  • Draft an email or a document from the task's own context
  • Summarize a long article or translate a foreign-language document
  • Search with the AI for the information a task is missing
  • Import your Google Calendar schedule into your task list

When to use 2-b.ai / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if 2-b.ai is the right fit.

When to use 2-b.ai

  • Knowledge workers who live inside the browser — Gmail, Google Docs, Notion on the web, Slack — and want to capture a task without leaving the page
  • People who keep losing ideas in the copy-paste round trip between a web page and a separate to-do app
  • Anyone whose tasks start out vague and who wants the AI to cut them into concrete, actionable steps
  • Readers of long articles and foreign-language documents who want a summary or a translation right next to the task itself
  • Google Calendar users, since it is the only schedule the extension can pull in today
  • Budget-conscious solo users: the free plan is permanent and the paid tier starts at USD 5.99 per month

When not to use 2-b.ai

  • Teams after shared boards, task assignment or admin controls — nothing on the site describes collaborative features
  • People who work mainly in desktop applications: the extension cannot reach them, and it is blocked on Google's main search results page
  • Anyone who needs their phone in the loop — there is no iOS or Android app, and the desktop app is only announced
  • Developers who want to wire a task list into their own stack: there is no public API and no developer documentation
  • Users who will not sign in with Google, since Google OAuth is the only route in
  • Organizations expecting a broad integration stack — Google Calendar is the single connector available

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • No configuration whatsoever: the tool lives in the browser you already use, with no new application to learn
  • Capture without breaking concentration — the copy-paste round trip to a separate app disappears
  • The AI model is included: no OpenAI account, no API key, no separate subscription
  • A permanent free plan, with unlimited AI task creation and unlimited task breakdown
  • Low entry price: USD 5.99 per month at the Founder rate, against USD 10.99 listed
  • Passwordless sign-in through Google OAuth, with no password stored by the publisher
  • Content ownership left with the member, no advertising use, and a named data protection officer with both an email address and a phone number

Cons

  • Browser-only reach: nothing inside desktop applications, nothing on Google's main search page, and some sites block extensions from their content altogether
  • No mobile app on either platform, and the desktop app is announced rather than available
  • No public API and no developer documentation, so nothing can be automated around it
  • A single integration, Google Calendar, and a Google account as the only way to sign in
  • The free plan is capped at 50 calls to the base AI model
  • A very young product: version 1.0.5, 127 users and six reviews as of 9 August 2026
  • Thin legal transparency: no postal address, a company name reduced to 'Parc', no subprocessor list, no DPA, nothing published on model training, and a privacy policy that never mentions the GDPR

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how 2-b.ai handles your data.

GDPR overview

There is no mention of the GDPR anywhere on 2-b.ai. The privacy policy, effective 1 January 2025, is built on Korean law — the Personal Information Protection Act — and the terms (article 15) submit any dispute to the laws and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Republic of Korea. Users are offered access, correction, deletion and suspension of processing, exercisable by email to support@2-b.ai, with an agent allowed to act on their behalf. A data protection officer is named: Dongjin Lee, CEO, reachable at support@2-b.ai or +82 10-9914-4677. Every redress route listed is Korean: the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee, KISA's reporting center, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the National Police Agency. No Article 27 EU representative is designated. The FAQ claims the AI agents comply with EU AI regulation, which is a separate matter from the GDPR.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of service (article 9), members keep ownership of the content they put into 2-b.ai. The publisher, Parc, grants itself only a limited license to host and process that content, and strictly for the purpose of operating the service; article 9.3 states that it claims no ownership and does not use member content for advertising. The Chrome Web Store declarations point the same way: data is not sold to third parties, not used outside the extension's core function, and not used for creditworthiness or lending purposes. Both documents took effect on 1 January 2025.

Reuse rights

At sign-up, 2-b.ai collects two mandatory items only: the email address and the unique account identifier supplied by Google. Login runs exclusively through Google OAuth, so no password is collected or stored. The privacy policy, effective 1 January 2025, declares three purposes: running the service (authentication, member management, security, sanctions where the terms are breached), improving the service, and — in its section 9 — AI-driven schedule management and personalized recommendations built on calendar data. Access and usage history is collected automatically. Cookies are used for Google Analytics, on non-identifying data only. The Google Calendar scope requested is broad: viewing, editing, sharing and permanently deleting the calendars the account can reach. The publisher commits to the Google API Services User Data Policy, Limited Use requirements included. The Chrome Web Store listing declares that personally identifiable information, financial and payment information and user activity are handled. Since members keep ownership of their content and the publisher claims none, users may reuse whatever they produce in the tool without asking permission.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Email address and Google account identifier are kept until the member cancels or unsubscribes. Access and usage logs are kept as long as needed to run the service and to satisfy the law. Korean statutory periods apply: three months for internet access logs, five years for contracts and withdrawal records, five years for payment and supply records, three years for consumer complaints and disputes, six months for advertising displays. Data that is no longer needed is deleted without delay; where a law requires retention, it is moved to a separate database and used for nothing else. Destruction means electronic files rendered unrecoverable and paper documents shredded or incinerated, checked regularly by the data protection officer. Anonymized data is kept for one year to improve the service. No zero-retention commitment and no training opt-out is offered.

Hosting summary

Section 7 of the privacy policy, effective 1 January 2025, states that 2-b.ai runs on AWS cloud infrastructure and that personal information may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States, in the Oregon region. The publisher says it keeps control of the data processed through AWS and uses it only to provide and operate the service. Observable evidence matches the claim: the demonstration video is served from a us-west-2 S3 bucket, which is Oregon. The cross-border transfer is therefore explicit and assumed — a Korean publisher, under Korean law, holding user data on American soil. One caveat: on 9 August 2026 the domain resolved to 31.43.161.6, an Amazon anycast node in Amsterdam. That is a CDN edge, not a storage location, and should not be read as European hosting. No broad hosting region is named, no EU option is offered, and no subprocessor list is published, even though AWS, Google Analytics and Lemon Squeezy are each named in passing.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting 2-b.ai.

  • The Google Calendar permission requested is broad: viewing, editing, sharing and permanently deleting every calendar the account can reach — well beyond what importing a schedule strictly needs
  • No postal address is published anywhere, and the company name is reduced to the single word 'Parc', which makes the publisher hard to identify or to reach outside email
  • The privacy policy still mentions 'OFFLIGHT' and 'Parc Calendar', leftovers from another product: the document has not been fully reread, so parts of it may not describe 2-b.ai
  • The developer is declared 'Non-trader' on the Chrome Web Store, so EU consumer rights do not apply to contracts signed with them; the privacy policy never mentions the GDPR and every redress route it lists is Korean
  • Nothing is published about whether user data feeds model training, and no opt-out exists beyond a cookie setting
  • Data is hosted in the United States (AWS, Oregon) while the publisher is Korean; both legal documents date from 1 January 2025, and a change to the policy takes effect after a 14-day notice
  • Because the AI splits every vague task into steps for you, it is easy to stop planning your own work — convenient day to day, less so the moment the extension is not there
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Setup is about as light as it gets. Install the extension in one click from the Chrome Web Store, pin it to the toolbar, and sign in with a Google account — no password to create, no API key, no configuration at all, which is exactly the zero setup the publisher advertises. The download weighs 17.73 MB. First use takes seconds: press Cmd/Ctrl+J on any page, highlight a passage, click '+'. The only real prerequisites are a Google account and a compatible browser.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Where does 2-b.ai actually work?
On most web pages, including Gmail, Google Docs and the web version of Notion. It does not work on Google's main search results page, nor inside desktop applications.
Why does it fail on some pages?
Some sites forbid extensions from accessing their content. That is a browser-level restriction rather than a bug in 2-b.ai.
Do I need a ChatGPT or OpenAI account?
No. Every AI feature is included, and the built-in chatbot runs on GPT-4o-mini without any separate account or API key.
Is 2-b.ai free?
There is a permanent free plan, limited to 50 calls to the base AI model. Unlimited use and the advanced models come with the Pro plan at USD 5.99 per month, listed at USD 10.99.
How do I sign in?
Only through Google OAuth. No password is created and none is stored by the publisher, so a Google account is required to use the extension.
Which external apps can I connect?
Google Calendar today, whose schedule can be imported into the task list. Further integrations are announced but not yet available.
What can the AI chat do?
Create, delete and refine tasks, link them together, edit them and organize your workflow — by conversation rather than by filling in forms.
Where is my data hosted?
On AWS infrastructure, on servers located in the United States, in the Oregon region, even though the publisher is Korean.
How are payments processed?
Through Lemon Squeezy acting as merchant of record. The subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time, with effect at the end of the current billing period.
Is there a mobile or desktop app?
No. 2-b.ai exists only as a browser extension, with an interface in English and Korean; a desktop app is announced as under development, and no mobile app is mentioned.
Conclusion

Should you pick 2-b.ai?

2-b.ai does one thing well: it removes the gap between reading something in the browser and having it on a list. Highlight, click, done — and the AI turns the result into steps you can actually start. The Chrome Web Store rating of 4.8, thin as six reviews are, suggests the promise holds.

The scope is deliberately narrow. One integration, no mobile app, no public API, no desktop client beyond an announcement. Anything outside a browser tab is out of reach, and some sites refuse to let the extension read them at all. Teams will find nothing built for them here.

The pricing, though, is hard to argue with: a permanent free plan, then USD 5.99 a month at the Founder rate for unlimited use of the base model and access to the advanced ones. For a solo knowledge worker already living in Gmail, Notion and Google Docs, that is a low bar.

Legal transparency is thinner. Parc publishes no postal address, its company name is a single word, and the privacy policy — effective 1 January 2025 — rests entirely on Korean law, with no mention of the GDPR and no EU representative. Data sits on AWS servers in the United States while the publisher is Korean, and nothing is published about subprocessors, a DPA or model training. None of that disqualifies personal use; all of it deserves a hard look before a professional or regulated one.

What to watch: whether the announced desktop app and the promised integrations ship, and whether the Founder price survives. As of 9 August 2026 — version 1.0.5, 127 users — 2-b.ai is a sharp, cheap, single-purpose companion, not yet a system of record.
