2wai
2wai is a social app for AI avatars of real people. Creators, brands and teachers turn a phone video into a HoloAvatar in three minutes: a digital twin that holds live conversations in 40+ languages, on web and iOS.
What is 2wai?
2wai is a social app built around AI avatars of real people, run by 2wai, Inc. and out of stealth since June 2025. Its centrepiece is the HoloAvatar, a digital twin that looks like its owner, speaks like its owner and, in the company’s words, shares the same memories. Building one takes a guided walkthrough and nothing but a phone camera: the footage is processed and the avatar is generated holographically in about three minutes. From there it is available for real-time, two-way conversation, face and voice, on the web or through the iOS app. The company sums up its own pitch in one line: AI has a voice. Now, it needs a face.
Beyond personal twins, 2wai runs a catalogue of role-based avatars: Shakespeare the writer, Celest the astrologer, Elara the life coach, Luca the chef, Darius the fitness coach, Skye the travel agent. New ones are added continuously. Every avatar handles more than 40 languages, so a twin can answer in languages its owner has never spoken.
Two audiences get dedicated framing. Creators and brands are offered immersive conversations with fans, and the option to make fictional or animated characters interactive. Schools are offered the Education Suite, where historical figures act as real-time teaching assistants, learning parameters are configurable, answers are aligned to the curriculum and teachers get progress dashboards. Underneath sits FedBrain, a patent-pending technology the company credits with language guardrails, compliance and age-appropriate content reviewed by educators, alongside a proprietary verification process meant to protect a person’s digital likeness.
2wai also publishes an ethics manifesto: users own their name, image, likeness and data, keep control over what their avatar says and does, and are covered by rules against impersonation and counterfeiting, with economic upside shared with creators. Alliewai, a showcase agent built on the platform, lives on X and inside the app, tied to the $AWAI token listed on Virtuals, which grants speaking time, discounts on avatar creation, analytics and governance rights. A creator partnership program is announced as coming soon.
The limits come from the company itself: the terms warn that avatars may produce incorrect or misleading content, and that interactions are for entertainment purposes only.

When to use 2wai / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if 2wai is the right fit.
When to use 2wai
- Creators and influencers who want to answer their fans at scale instead of one message at a time
- Brands and companies looking for an interactive spokesperson their audience can actually talk to
- Teachers and instructional designers testing AI tutors and historical figures through the Education Suite
- Actors, musicians and athletes with an existing audience who want a presence that keeps talking when they cannot
- Coaches, trainers and consultants who want to duplicate their presence in languages they do not speak
When not to use 2wai
- Developer and integration teams: the site publishes no public API and no developer documentation of any kind
- Android-only users: the mobile app ships on iOS, and Android is announced but not delivered
- Buyers who have to defend a budget: no paid plan and no published price make any forecast impossible
- EU and public-sector procurement: no GDPR mention, no data processing agreement, no Article 27 representative
- Anyone who needs accountable output or control over what they submit: the terms call avatar interactions entertainment only, and take a perpetual commercial licence over non-personal content
How to use 2wai
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Get the app from the iOS App Store through the “Get the app” button; the website also gives access to avatars
- Create an account with a valid email address, first and last name, date of birth, a username and a password
- Wait for 2wai to approve the account, then confirm it from the email you receive: registration is required for the protected areas, including creating and talking to avatars
- Grant camera, microphone and photo access; refusing them disables part of the experience
- To build your own twin, follow the step-by-step guided capture with your phone camera
- Let the holographic generation run, roughly three minutes of processing on the video you just recorded
- Browse the avatar catalogue and start a real-time conversation with the one you want
- Pick your language: the avatar switches automatically across more than 40 of them
- For classroom use, go through the Education Suite via the contact route on the site and set the learning rules
- To stop, write to 2wai and ask for your Personal Avatar Assets to be deleted

Pricing & Plans
There is a free plan, and nothing else: the current version of the 2wai app is stated to be entirely free. The site publishes no pricing page, no amount and no currency, so there is no paid entry point to quote. The company indicates that subscriptions and in-app purchases may be introduced in the future, without giving terms, dates or price points. A $AWAI token is mentioned on the Alliewai page as granting speaking time and discounts on avatar creation, again with no published price. Readers should therefore treat the current cost as zero and any future cost as undisclosed.
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how 2wai handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no GDPR here. Across every page collected — terms of use, privacy policy, product pages — the words GDPR, EEA and legal basis never appear. No Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, and no European entity or address is published. The privacy policy, effective 29 May 2025, is drafted to United States practice, its only sector-specific notice being the California Civil Code 1789.3 consumer notice. The rights offered are profile updates, a marketing opt-out and cookie or targeted-advertising controls through US ad-industry programmes — not access, portability, erasure or objection. International transfers are acknowledged and said to be covered by “appropriate written data processing terms and/or data transfer agreements”, none of which are published. Do Not Track is not honoured, and the children’s threshold is 13, the COPPA line rather than the GDPR one.
Who owns the data?
The terms split what you submit in two. Personal Avatar Assets — your likeness, images, video and voice — stay yours: “all right, title and interest … belong to and are retained solely by You.” 2wai takes a licence over them that is irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable, but limited to building and running your avatar, and it undertakes never to use them for marketing. Non-Personal Asset Data is treated far more loosely: a perpetual commercial licence lets 2wai publish, modify, translate and display advertising against it. Anonymised Aggregated Data belongs to 2wai outright, as does any feedback you send, without compensation.
Reuse rights
Your licence over the site itself is narrow: limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and restricted to individual consumer use. Modifying, copying, reproducing, creating derivative works, reverse engineering or otherwise exploiting the site falls outside the Permitted Purposes, and any public or commercial use of the site is excluded outright. Data mining, robots and other extraction methods are banned. What you do keep is your own likeness: Personal Avatar Assets remain yours, so you are free to reuse your own face and voice elsewhere. Non-Personal Asset Data is another matter — 2wai states plainly that it does not guarantee you will be able to edit or delete what you have already submitted. Finally, anything an avatar produces is declared to be for entertainment purposes only, with no warranty of accuracy: treat it as material to verify, not as material to publish.

Hosting summary
2wai is headquartered in the United States and states that it has operations and service providers in the United States and throughout the world. No hosting country, no region, no cloud provider and no subprocessor list is named anywhere on the site. International transfers are acknowledged, including transfers to jurisdictions, the United States among them, whose protection may be weaker than the user’s own; the company says these are framed by appropriate written data processing terms and/or data transfer agreements, but publishes none of them. Security measures are described in general terms only, and no certification is claimed: neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 appears on the site. On the network side, the web server resolves to 4.246.32.184, an address in AS8075 (Microsoft Corporation) located in Moses Lake, United States. That is where the website is served from, not a statement about where user data is stored: the two should not be confused.

Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting 2wai.
- A digital twin reuses your name, face and voice: a compromised account turns into an impersonation tool
- The terms themselves warn that avatars may behave unpredictably and produce content that is incorrect or misleading
- Advice from life-coach, astrologer, fitness-coach or chef avatars carries no professional framework and no guarantee
- Emotional attachment to avatars of real people, including people who have died, is a foreseeable effect of the format
- Non-personal content you submit falls under a perpetual commercial licence, and aggregated data trains the systems with no documented way out
- Targeted advertising and data sharing with third-party ad networks, with Do Not Track requests ignored
- Mandatory arbitration and a class-action waiver take effect once the 30-day opt-out window has passed
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
No technical skill is required: a phone and the app are enough. You create an account with an email address, name, date of birth, username and password; 2wai approves it and you confirm by email. Avatar creation is a guided, step-by-step capture followed by roughly three minutes of generation. Camera, microphone and photo access have to be granted. There is nothing to integrate, configure or connect, and no API to wire in. The one practical constraint is the entry point: the mobile app ships on the iOS App Store, so an Apple device is needed.

Should you pick 2wai?
2wai’s proposition is unusually clear: give conversational AI a face and a voice, inside a contract that leaves your likeness with you. The clause covering Personal Avatar Assets is genuinely favourable — ownership retained, marketing use forbidden, deletion on request — and a three-minute capture from a phone removes the usual barrier to entry.
The product is young. The domain was registered in September 2024, the company came out of stealth in June 2025 with a reported five million dollars in pre-seed funding, and the surface it exposes is still narrow: an iOS app, a website, no API, no Android build, no named third-party integration. Everything is free today, and the company says subscriptions and in-app purchases may arrive later without saying what they will cost.
Data governance is the mixed part of the record. The strong commitments cover Personal Avatar Assets only. Non-Personal Asset Data falls under a perpetual commercial licence, aggregated data feeds system training with no documented opt-out, and nothing on the site addresses European compliance: no GDPR mention, no processing agreement, no Article 27 representative, no subprocessor list, no security certification.
The most credible uses today are the ones the company pushes itself: creators answering an audience at scale, brands giving a face to a spokesperson, and schools testing the Education Suite. Anyone with a procurement checklist, a budget to defend or an integration to build should wait for documentation that does not yet exist.
