Agentkit
Agentkit turns your website, documents and Q&A pairs into a custom AI chatbot you embed with one script tag. It answers visitors around the clock, captures leads and drafts email replies. Choose GPT, Claude or Gemini per bot.
What is Agentkit?
Agentkit is a hosted platform for building AI agents that answer questions from your own content. You point it at a website URL, upload PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text or Markdown files, paste raw text, or lock in exact question-and-answer pairs; the agent learns from all of it. A site of ten to fifty pages trains in roughly two to five minutes, and individual documents in seconds.
The problem it targets is stated bluntly on the homepage: visitors have questions at eleven at night, and your team does not work at eleven at night. Most of what fills a support queue is the same handful of questions — shipping, pricing, refunds, do you support X? — answered by hand, one at a time.
Once trained, the agent is configured rather than coded. You set the tone, welcome message, brand colours, chat bubble style and suggested prompts, then pick the underlying model per agent from OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude or Google Gemini, switchable at any time. That multi-provider choice is the argument Agentkit leans on hardest against rivals tied to a single vendor. Publishing means pasting one script tag before the closing body tag, with documented paths for WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Framer, React and Next.js, plain iframes and any HTML page.
Beyond answering, the agent acts. Built-in actions surface buttons, forms and API calls in context, collect contact details inside the conversation, offer booking slots through Calendly or Cal.com, search the live web, and hand off to a human by opening a ticket in Zendesk, HubSpot, Salesforce, Intercom, Freshdesk or Help Scout. The same knowledge base drives two further channels: a dedicated email inbox per agent, where drafted replies sit in a review queue until you trust them enough to auto-send, and Instagram direct messages.
Operators get full chat logs, exportable leads, message usage, sentiment analysis and automatic topic detection. Guardrails cover domain restrictions, rate limiting and visibility. Developers get API keys, webhooks and a v2 REST API with streaming.

When to use Agentkit / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Agentkit is the right fit.
When to use Agentkit
- Small support teams drowning in the same handful of questions about shipping, pricing, refunds and compatibility
- Owners of WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace or Framer sites who have no developer on hand
- Sales teams that lose high-intent visitors arriving at night, at weekends or from another time zone
- Solo creators and small businesses, explicitly targeted by the Hobby tier at 29.99 USD per month
- Agencies and freelancers building chatbots for clients, who can join the Experts referral programme
When not to use Agentkit
- Buyers in regulated environments: no DPA, no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification, no named GDPR Article 27 representative
- Organisations that must know where their data is hosted, since no country or region is ever disclosed
- Teams needing many bots at once, capped at one on Free and Hobby, two on Standard and three on Pro
- Large support departments, since the top public tier allows only five seats and 40,000 messages a month
- Anyone wanting a native mobile app, as administration is web-only and no iOS or Android app exists
How to use Agentkit
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Sign up without a credit card, then click Create Agent and give it a name
- Add your knowledge: paste the URL to crawl, drop in documents, type text snippets, or write exact Q&A pairs
- Wait for training, roughly two to five minutes for a site of ten to fifty pages
- Test in the Playground, which shows exactly which training documents produced each answer
- Customise tone, welcome message, brand colours, bubble icon, suggested prompts and the AI model
- Open the Publish tab, copy the JavaScript snippet and paste it before the closing body tag
- Check the widget appears, clearing your cache and testing in a private window if it does not
- Optionally enable the dedicated email inbox, starting with every reply held in the review queue
- Watch chat logs, exported leads, usage and analytics to see what visitors actually ask
- Iterate: add Q&A pairs for the answers that were missing and remove content that has gone stale
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Three model providers instead of one, switchable per bot at any time

- Live in minutes: a single script tag, with step-by-step guides for eight site platforms
- API access, integrations and all action types included from the first paid tier at 29.99 USD
- Human handoff into six mainstream helpdesks, plus Calendly and Cal.com booking
- One knowledge base serving three channels: website widget, email inbox and Instagram DMs
- Visibly active development, with 32 dated changelog entries between January and August 2026
Cons
- The publisher is not identifiable: no legal entity, no postal address, no named founder
- No email address anywhere; the only contact route is a form that requires an account
- No hosting country or region is disclosed, although conversations pass through OpenAI and Anthropic
- No DPA, no security certification, no Article 27 representative and no named data protection officer
- Bot count is tightly capped: one until 119.99 USD a month, three at most
- Message quotas are hard limits; once exceeded the agent stops answering until you upgrade
- Yearly prices are rendered client-side and cannot be verified from the pricing page source
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free plan is available at no cost and without a credit card, offering one chatbot and 50 messages per month. The lowest paid entry point is the Hobby plan at 29.99 USD per month when billed monthly. Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Agentkit handles your data.
GDPR overview
The privacy policy carries a dedicated section headed GDPR (European Economic Area). It names the legal bases relied on — performance of a contract, legitimate interests covering service improvement and abuse prevention, and consent for marketing email and optional analytics — and lists six data subject rights: access, correction, deletion, export, objection and restriction. Requests go through the in-app help form, with a stated 30-day response. A separate CCPA section covers California residents and confirms no sale of personal data. What is missing matters too: no Article 27 representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, no GDPR contact address is published, no Data Processing Agreement is offered, and no hosting jurisdiction is disclosed anywhere on the site.
Who owns the data?
The terms are unusually clear on ownership. Customers keep all rights to whatever they upload, create or generate: training data, chatbot configurations and conversation logs alike. Agentkit receives only a limited licence to process, store and display that content, and solely for the purpose of running the service. Ownership of the platform itself — software, design, features and documentation — stays with Agentkit, and the terms grant no rights over its trademarks, logos or branding. Conversation messages are nonetheless transmitted to OpenAI and Anthropic for processing, and the vendor states in its FAQ that customer content is never used to train other models.
Reuse rights
Customers may reuse their own material freely: they own it, and no permission clause restricts what they do with their training sources, chatbot configurations, conversation logs or the leads collected in chat, which are exportable from the dashboard and deletable at any time. On the vendor side, collected data is used to provide and improve the service, generate AI answers, send transactional email, send optional marketing email you can unsubscribe from, monitor abuse and satisfy legal obligations. Account details, crawled pages, uploaded files, conversations, usage metrics and technical data such as IP address and browser are all covered. Only essential and preference cookies are set; the privacy policy states plainly that no third-party tracking or analytics cookies are used, and that personal information is not sold.

Hosting summary
No hosting jurisdiction is disclosed. The privacy policy never names a country or a region where customer data is stored, and there is no trust or security page that would do so. What it does publish is a named list of the third-party services that may process your data: Supabase for database hosting, authentication and file storage; OpenAI and Anthropic as model providers, which receive conversation messages for processing; Stripe for payment as merchant of record, with no card details stored by Agentkit; PostHog for product analytics, error monitoring and session replay; Upstash QStash for background task processing; and Resend for transactional and marketing email. On security, the vendor states that data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest, that credentials are hashed, that role-based access controls and row-level security policies are applied, and that infrastructure undergoes regular security reviews. No certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed, and no Data Processing Agreement is offered.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Agentkit.
- You cannot identify who you are contracting with: no legal entity, no address, no named officer, and no email address anywhere on the site
- The only support channel is a form behind a login, so a locked-out or unhappy customer has no independent way to reach a human
- Conversation content is sent to OpenAI and Anthropic, yet no hosting country or region is ever disclosed
- An agent trained on your pages will still occasionally be wrong; the terms make you responsible for reviewing its output, and few operators actually read every log
- Letting the email agent auto-send replies is a real delegation of voice: start with the review queue and resist turning it off too early
- Visitors talking to a well-branded bot may not realise they are not talking to a person, so keep the disclaimers the product offers switched on
- Message quotas are hard: when the limit is hit the agent goes quiet, which is worse for a visitor than never having seen a chat bubble
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. The FAQ states no coding is required: agents are built in a visual interface, content is added by drag and drop, and onboarding uses preset configurations. The single technical step is pasting one JavaScript snippet before the closing body tag, with dedicated guides for WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix, Squarespace, Framer, React and Next.js, and iframes. Troubleshooting advice is documented if the widget fails to appear. A developer track exists but is optional: API keys, webhooks, identity verification and a v2 REST API.

Should you pick Agentkit?
Agentkit does its core job well and does not pretend to do more. Point it at your website and documents, wait a few minutes, paste one script tag, and you have a chatbot answering visitors in more than ninety-five languages. The ability to switch between GPT, Claude and Gemini per bot is a genuine differentiator against competitors locked to one provider, and it is not reserved for the top tier: every paid plan opens the full model list, along with API access, integrations and all action types from 29.99 USD a month. A permanent free plan means you can judge the product before paying anything. The changelog is public and busy, with thirty-two dated entries between January and August 2026 covering human handoff into six helpdesks, a v2 API, booking actions and live web search.
The reservations are about the company, not the product. Nobody is identifiable behind Agentkit: no legal entity, no postal address, no founder, no email. Support, legal and privacy enquiries all funnel into a form that requires an account. GDPR is described properly in the privacy policy, but the artefacts a procurement team asks for are absent — no DPA, no certification, no Article 27 representative, no stated hosting jurisdiction, even though conversations transit OpenAI and Anthropic. The domain was registered in September 2024 and first archived in February 2025, so this is a young product.
For a small business, a creator or an agency wanting a capable chatbot live this afternoon, Agentkit is a sound and fairly priced choice. For a regulated buyer, or anyone whose security review starts with who are we contracting with?, there is homework to do first.
