Beyond the rough cut, Creator Mode generates captions, applies motion graphics and MOGRT templates, drops in sound effects, reframes horizontal footage for vertical formats and, in Podcast Mode, switches multicam angles by detecting the active speaker. A Chat Edit feature lets you steer the cut conversationally, within a monthly allowance of AI turns. Every cut stays editable and nothing is locked.
Four tools remain free forever, Paste Image, Silence Cutter, Sound Effects and Motion Graphics, while Claude-powered editing starts on the Creator plan. The vendor is unusually candid about the limits, publishing a section on what AutoEdit does not do: it may cut a sentence you would have kept or miss a messy passage. GDPR overview
There is no GDPR implementation to report: the words GDPR and data protection appear nowhere on the site, and neither do CCPA, the EEA, standard contractual clauses, a Data Processing Agreement or an Article 27 representative. What the privacy policy does offer, without ever naming a regulation, is a set of GDPR-shaped rights: access to the personal data held about you, correction of inaccurate data, deletion of your data and account, export in a portable format, and withdrawal of consent at any time. These are exercised by writing to info@autoeditai.net, and account deletion can also be requested through support. The policy, dated 13 April 2026, states that the service is not intended for anyone under 18. No hosting country or region is declared anywhere.
Who owns the data?
Under the Terms of Service you retain all rights to the content you process, and AutoEdit retains no rights whatsoever over your footage, audio or edit results. Audio extracted from your project is used solely to deliver the service and is deleted once processing ends, and your video files never leave your machine at all. The company keeps ownership only of its own assets: the plugin, the website, the underlying software, its trademarks and its materials. The named third parties involved in processing, namely Stripe, Cloudflare R2, ElevenLabs, Anthropic and Railway, act on AutoEdit's behalf and acquire no ownership over anything you upload.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the published terms restricts what you may do with the output. You keep every right to your footage and to the rough cuts, captions and edit decisions AutoEdit returns, so you can publish, monetise or re-edit them commercially without asking permission. On the vendor's side, the data collected, an email address, an argon2id-hashed password, the extracted audio and usage metrics such as job counts and processing minutes, serves only to run the service, take payment, enforce plan quotas, send service-related messages and improve the product. AutoEdit states that it does not sell personal data and does not use your audio, transcriptions or edit results for advertising or AI training; audio sent to ElevenLabs and Anthropic is likewise not retained by those services for training purposes.

Hosting summary
AutoEdit does not declare any hosting jurisdiction. Neither a country nor a region is named anywhere on the site, which leaves the legal location of processing unverifiable. What the privacy policy does publish is the list of subprocessors: Stripe for payment and subscription management, Cloudflare R2 for temporary encrypted storage of audio files and results, ElevenLabs for transcription using Scribe v2, Anthropic's Claude for the content analysis behind edit decisions, and Railway for application hosting. The architecture limits exposure considerably, since video files stay on your own machine and only the extracted audio is uploaded, held in encrypted cloud storage and deleted once processing completes.
