GDPR overview
Beloga publishes a dedicated GDPR section. It names the company as data controller, treats its service providers as data processors, and cites consent and performance of a contract as its legal bases. Data subject rights are enumerated for users located in the EU, with an undertaking to guarantee their exercise. The first-party policies at /legal/ carry an effective date of 2 April 2026, while two older TermsFeed copies dated 2 April 2024 are still linked from the homepage footer. Beyond that the implementation is thin: no EU representative is designated under Article 27, no data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement or standard contractual clauses are mentioned, and privacy requests go to the same general address as everything else, hello@beloga.xyz. The company is established in Delaware, United States.
Who owns the data?
Beloga Inc. presents itself as the data controller for personal data under the GDPR. Its published documents never assign ownership of the content you import: notes, files and saved links are neither claimed by the vendor nor explicitly left to you, which is a silence rather than a guarantee. One category is settled, and not in your favour: the terms assign to Beloga all rights, title and interest in any feedback or suggestion you send. Payment card details are never stored by Beloga and go straight to its payment processor. You may delete your personal data or ask for its deletion, though records may be kept where a legal obligation applies.
Reuse rights
The published terms say nothing about whether you may reuse what Beloga returns to you, so no licence, restriction or attribution requirement is stated for search results and summaries. That silence is worth noting before republishing anything commercially. What the documents do describe is Beloga's own use of your data: providing and maintaining the service, managing your account, performing the contract, answering your requests, sending newsletters and marketing material, and internal analysis. Named third parties with access include PostHog for analytics, Brevo and Beehiiv for email, Stripe for payments and Google's invisible reCAPTCHA for security. Data may be transferred outside your own jurisdiction, and the California section acknowledges that analytics or advertising partners may sell personal information as that law defines it. Marketing emails can be stopped through the unsubscribe link or by writing to the company. Nothing in the documents addresses the use of customer content for AI model training.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Beloga publishes no hosting location. The privacy policy states only that information is processed at the company's operating offices and wherever the parties involved in the processing are located, and warns that data may be transferred outside your state, province or country to jurisdictions whose data protection law may differ from your own. No country and no region are named, so buyers with residency requirements have nothing to rely on. The website itself is served behind Cloudflare on an anycast address, which reveals the edge network rather than the origin. The application's own code shows Supabase, Stripe and Sentry in the stack, none of them with a published region. No security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed anywhere, no formal subprocessor page exists, and no data processing agreement is offered. The vendors named in the privacy policy, namely PostHog, Brevo, Beehiiv, Stripe and Google reCAPTCHA, are the closest thing to a subprocessor disclosure.
