Blend AI
Blend AI is an e-commerce design studio that turns a single product photo into studio shots, lifestyle scenes, AI model try-ons, logos and short videos. Background removal is free, with no account required.
What is Blend AI?
Blend AI is an e-commerce design studio built by BlendIt Studios Private Limited, a company based in Bengaluru, India. It takes a single product photograph and turns it into the range of visuals an online seller would normally have to commission: cut-outs on transparent backgrounds, studio shots with corrected lighting and shadows, lifestyle scenes, on-model apparel and jewellery images, and short product videos. The tool grew out of delete.bg, a background-removal service whose domain now redirects to blendnow.com and whose name still labels the developer API.
Background removal remains the entry point, and it is free. You upload a JPG, PNG or HEIC file, the AI separates the subject from its background in under five seconds, and you download a transparent PNG without creating an account or entering card details. From there the editor offers more than two million backdrops, solid colours, drop shadows, or a background generated by AI Photoshoot.
Around that core sit roughly twenty-five features. AI Models place clothing and jewellery on generated human models with varied body types; Ghost Mannequin produces the invisible-mannequin effect; Change AI Model Pose reangles a shot without a reshoot. Studio Shot corrects lighting, Lifestyle Shot drops the product into a real setting, and Product Recolor, Upscale Image, Magic Eraser, digital ironing and Add Dimensions handle the retouching that marketplace listings demand. DesignGPT generates banners and marketing creatives from a text prompt; Logo Maker builds a logo with mockups, business cards and animated logo reveals; AI Video produces motion content capped at ten seconds on PRO and thirty on MAX. Batch processing covers catalogues of several hundred images.
The company claims 10 million images created, 3.5 million sellers and a 4.8 app-store rating, and dedicates landing pages to fashion, Amazon and Etsy sellers, D2C and Shopify brands, beauty, home and furniture, car dealerships, marketing teams and developers. Blend runs in the browser, on iOS and Android, and as an HTTPS API documented at docs.blend-api.com, with wrappers announced for Python, PHP, Node.js and Ruby. Its servers are located in India, and use is restricted to people aged 18 or over.

When to use Blend AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Blend AI is the right fit.
When to use Blend AI
- Online sellers listing on Amazon, Etsy or Shopify who need marketplace-compliant product images without booking a studio
- Fashion, jewellery and apparel brands that want on-model shots, ghost mannequin images and virtual try-ons for every SKU
- D2C and beauty brands building a consistent visual identity across a website, a catalogue and social channels
- Catalogue and operations teams processing hundreds of SKUs at once through batch editing
- Developers embedding an HTTPS background-removal API into an app, a marketplace or an in-product editor
When not to use Blend AI
- Designers looking for a general-purpose editor for presentations, social posts and print collateral — the site itself positions Blend against Canva on that point
- Video producers who need to assemble footage, voiceover and captions rather than generate short product clips
- Buyers outside India who need a firm, published price in their own currency before subscribing
- Organisations that require a signed data processing agreement, a subprocessor list or explicit contractual terms on content ownership
- Anyone under 18, since the terms restrict use to adults
How to use Blend AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open the web app at app.blendnow.com, or install the iOS or Android application
- Sign in with an email address or a social account — background removal alone needs no account at all
- Upload an image in JPG, PNG or HEIC format, preferably one where the subject has clear edges
- Let the Magic Background Eraser detect the subject and cut it out, in under five seconds
- Refine the cut-out by hand if the automatic edge detection missed anything
- Replace the background with one of the two million backdrops, a solid colour, a drop shadow, or a scene generated by AI Photoshoot
- Switch to another tool on the same image — Studio Shot, Lifestyle Shot, AI Models, Ghost Mannequin, Product Recolor or Upscale
- Generate a product video or a marketing creative from the finished visual if you need motion or ad assets
- Download the result, in HD on a paid plan, or send a whole catalogue through batch processing
- For an integration instead, request free credits on docs.blend-api.com and call the HTTPS API from Python, PHP, Node.js or Ruby
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Background removal, Magic Eraser, image upscaling and AI Photoshoot are advertised as free, with no account or card required to get a cut-out
- Unusually broad coverage for one workspace: cut-outs, backgrounds, AI models, video, logos and mockups
- Batch processing makes large catalogues practical rather than a one-image-at-a-time chore
- Cut-outs are announced in under five seconds, with pixel-level edge detection on hair and fine outlines
- Available in the browser, on iOS and on Android, with a claimed 4.8 store rating
- A documented HTTPS API with free credits and wrappers for Python, PHP, Node.js and Ruby
- Identified publisher backed by named investors, with a postal address and a legal entity in the terms
Cons
- Prices are published in Indian rupees only; no dollar or euro amount appears anywhere in the pricing page
- Annual pricing is rendered in JavaScript and cannot be read without it
- No contact page and no support channel beyond an email address and a WhatsApp link
- No trust or security page, no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list
- The privacy notice was generated from a template and still shows an unfilled placeholder where the Binding Corporate Rules should be linked
- The terms of service page duplicates most of the privacy notice, and the two carry different update dates
- Nothing is said about whether customer images are used to train models, and no interface language other than English is announced
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free tier is available: background removal, Magic Eraser, image upscaling and AI Photoshoot are advertised as free to use, and a cut-out requires neither an account nor a payment card. The cheapest paid entry point is the PRO plan at ₹1,499.00 (INR) per month. The terms of service also refer to a seven-day trial period which converts to an annual subscription unless it is cancelled beforehand. Prices are published in Indian rupees only; no equivalent in another currency appears on the pricing page.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Blend AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
Implementation is partial and the wording is generic. The acronym GDPR appears nowhere in the pages reviewed; the text refers instead to "European data protection laws and regulations". A rights section for EEA and UK residents does list access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and the right to complain to a local supervisory authority. For transfers, the company invokes the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, available on request, and claims Binding Corporate Rules recognised by EEA and UK authorities — but the sentence ends with an unfilled template placeholder where the link should be, which undermines the claim. Servers are stated to be in India. No data protection officer is named, no Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data processing agreement is offered and no subprocessor list is published.
Who owns the data?
The published documents are silent on this point, and the silence is itself the finding: neither the terms of service nor the privacy notice contains any clause on who owns the images you upload or the visuals the AI generates from them, and no content licence is granted or reserved anywhere in the two texts. What the privacy notice does cover is personal data — email addresses, phone numbers, names, social login details, device and location data — collected on the stated grounds of consent, legitimate interest, contract performance and legal obligation. Users may request access, correction or deletion of that personal data, and account deletion removes it from the active databases. All such requests go to a single address, privacy@blend.to.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the terms of service or the privacy notice restricts what you may do with the images you produce, and nothing grants you a licence either — the contract simply does not address reuse of generated visuals, so the commercial use that the whole product is sold for is neither authorised nor forbidden in writing. On the vendor side, personal data is used for account creation, order and payment handling, support, feedback requests, testimonials published with consent, prize draws, marketing emails and targeted advertising, and is shared with third-party vendors for payment processing, analytics, email delivery, hosting and customer service. RevenueCat and Stripe are named as payment processors. The notice states that information is not otherwise shared, sold, rented or traded for third-party promotional purposes, and it says nothing at all about using customer content to train AI models.

Hosting summary
The privacy notice states plainly that the company's servers are located in India, and warns that users accessing the service from elsewhere should expect their information to be transferred to, stored in and processed at those facilities, as well as by third parties in India and other countries. For transfers originating in the EEA or the United Kingdom, the company says it relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which it will provide on request, and claims Binding Corporate Rules recognised by EEA and UK authorities — although the link to those rules is an unfilled template placeholder. Similar safeguards are said to be in place with third-party providers, with details again available only on request. No hosting region in the broader sense is declared, no data centre operator is named, and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is mentioned anywhere on the site. The domain resolves to an Amazon CloudFront edge node, which reflects content delivery rather than where data is stored.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Blend AI.
- Nothing in the contract says who owns the images you upload or the visuals the AI generates from them — a real exposure for a brand pushing an entire catalogue through the service
- The documents are silent on whether customer content feeds model training, and no opt-out is documented
- Automatic renewal is the default, the seven-day trial mentioned in the terms rolls into an annual subscription, cancellation needs 24 hours' notice and fees are non-refundable
- Prices appear only in Indian rupees, so a buyer elsewhere cannot verify from the site what they will be charged
- The privacy notice comes from a template generator and still carries an unfilled placeholder, which weakens every compliance claim it makes
- Targeted advertising and a third-party "offer wall" are described in the privacy notice, and location data may be collected continuously on mobile
- Generated models and scenes can drift from the real product; relying on them without checking risks misleading buyers and inviting returns or disputes
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low for the intended user. A cut-out takes three steps — upload, automatic removal, download — and needs neither an account nor a card. Everything else runs in the browser at app.blendnow.com or in the iOS and Android apps, with sign-in by email or social account. There is nothing to install and no third-party connector to configure. For a developer the effort is moderate: an HTTPS API documented at docs.blend-api.com, free starting credits, and wrappers announced for Python, PHP, Node.js and Ruby.

Should you pick Blend AI?
Blend AI is one of the rare tools in this category whose free tier is genuinely usable: a background removal, a Magic Eraser pass or an image upscale costs nothing and requires neither an account nor a card. That alone makes it worth trying for a seller with a handful of product photos and no photography budget. Beyond the cut-out, the breadth is unusual — AI models, ghost mannequin, studio and lifestyle scenes, product videos, logos and mockups all live in the same workspace, with batch processing for catalogues and an HTTPS API for teams who would rather integrate than click.
Two reservations deserve attention before committing. The first is commercial: the pricing page quotes only Indian rupees, ₹1,499 and ₹2,999 a month, and the annual figures are rendered in JavaScript, so a buyer outside India cannot confirm from the site what they will actually be charged. Subscriptions renew automatically, the trial referred to in the terms rolls into an annual plan, cancellation demands 24 hours' notice, and fees are explicitly non-refundable.
The second is legal. The privacy notice was produced with a template generator and still carries an unfilled placeholder where the Binding Corporate Rules should be linked; the acronym GDPR never appears; no data processing agreement or subprocessor list is published; and neither document says anything about who owns the images you upload or the visuals the AI generates, nor whether they feed model training. For casual product shots that silence may not matter. For a brand pushing its entire catalogue through the service, it is worth an email to the company before signing up.
Verdict: strong value on the free tier and broad feature coverage, held back by opaque international pricing and thin contractual guarantees.
