What is Brooked?
Brooked is a Google Sheets add-on that turns a spreadsheet into a working front end for a company's data systems. It installs from the Google Workspace Marketplace in one click, with no Chrome extension and no IT ticket, then connects to sources through OAuth, an API key or key-pair authentication depending on the system. Connections are read-only by default and Workspace administrators keep control of permissions.
At the last recorded state of the site, on 10 June 2026, thirteen live connectors were listed across four families: warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift), databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Supabase), finance and ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite) and analytics or CRM tools (Google Analytics, Looker, HubSpot). Marketing copy elsewhere on the same site claimed 20+ sources, a gap the vendor never explained.
The product is presented as an AI finance analyst inside Google Sheets. Rows can be pulled on a schedule, every 15 minutes, hourly, daily or weekly, or an agent can be asked a question in plain English: it writes the SQL, runs it against the live source, can execute Python with pandas and numpy or carry out a web research step, and writes the result straight into the cells. The agent is multi-model, switching between Claude, GPT and Gemini from a single interface, with the option to pin one.
Two things set it apart from an ordinary spreadsheet connector. The first is two-way sync, which writes changes back to QuickBooks and Sage rather than only reading. The second is a governance layer: an audit log with a diff for every write, schema checks, drift detection and threshold alerts sent to Slack or email. The site claims Google Workspace verification, encryption at rest and in transit, credentials never stored in plain text and a 99.9% uptime SLA on the Enterprise plan.
Adoption stayed small: 71 installs and two reviews on the Marketplace, rated 5.0, in June 2026. The service could not be reached on 30 August 2026, so this entry rests entirely on dated archives of the site itself.

GDPR overview
There is no GDPR implementation to report. The word GDPR appears nowhere on the pages that could be recovered, and neither the privacy policy nor the terms claim compliance or deny it. The policy does borrow the vocabulary of the regulation, invoking performance of a contract, legitimate interests and legal obligations as its grounds for processing, but it names no supervisory authority, no Article 27 representative for the European Union and no data protection officer. There is no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list and no mention of standard contractual clauses. Legal and privacy questions are both routed to the same generic address, support@brooked.io. The terms are governed by the laws of the United States, with no state or court named, and no postal address is published.
Who owns the data?
Brooked's privacy policy states that the Google data collected at sign-in, namely the email address, the name, the Google account identifier and the OAuth refresh token, is used only to run the service and is never sold, rented, traded or shared with third parties; it leaves the company only with the user's consent or for legal reasons. Credentials used to reach connected sources are described as encrypted at rest and never stored in plain text. The terms of service keep the platform itself, its original content and its features as the exclusive property of Brooked and its licensors. Nothing is said about ownership of the business data imported into a spreadsheet.
Reuse rights
The terms place no restriction on what a customer may do with the rows it imports: nothing limits their reuse, republication or redistribution, and no licence over that content is granted to the vendor. What the terms do protect is the product itself, since the service, its original content and its features remain the exclusive property of Brooked and its licensors, so the software may not be reused or repurposed. On the vendor's side, the privacy policy confines the use of the Google data collected at sign-in to providing and improving the service, with disclosure only on consent or for legal reasons. Training AI models on customer data is never mentioned, in either direction.

Hosting summary
Brooked publishes no information on where customer data is hosted. Neither the privacy policy, the terms nor the marketing pages name a country, a region or a cloud provider, and no data residency option is offered. What the site does state is limited to security posture: credentials are encrypted at rest, never stored in plain text and, in the vendor's own wording, never leave the customer's infrastructure, while data is described as encrypted at rest and in transit. Only technical observation, not vendor disclosure, adds anything further: at the time of review the website was served by Amazon CloudFront on AS16509, with the answering node in Los Angeles, DNS was delegated to Cloudflare, and the application back end answered on a dedicated subdomain. That indicates where the front end was delivered from, not where imported rows were stored. Any organisation with a data residency requirement should treat the question as unanswered.

For a finance or revenue operations team living in a spreadsheet, that combination of accounting connectors, two-way sync and built-in validation is not easy to find elsewhere.
The weaknesses sat on the other side of the product. Nothing was published about the company itself: no postal address, no extended legal name, no named founder. Nothing was published about governance either: no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list, no certification, no hosting country, and not a single mention of the GDPR. The decisive fact is more prosaic. On 30 August 2026 the service could not be reached at all: the website failed its TLS handshake, the application's content delivery distribution had been deleted, and the Google Workspace Marketplace listing returned an error. The domain is registered until March 2028 and the name servers are still in place, so a return is conceivable, but every element of infrastructure that would serve the product has been taken down.
