
ClawCloud
ClawCloud was a Singapore cloud infrastructure provider selling KVM virtual private servers, dedicated servers and game servers to developers and small businesses across eight regions. It shut down all hosting services on 30 June 2026.
What is ClawCloud?
ClawCloud no longer operates. On 1 June 2026 the company announced that its VPS, VDS and related hosting services would close; at midnight on 30 June 2026 every remaining instance was forcibly shut down and its data permanently destroyed. What follows describes what the service was, not an offer anyone can still take up.
ClawCloud (Singapore) Private Limited ran cloud infrastructure aimed squarely at developers, on a promise of high performance at low cost. Its virtual private servers used KVM virtualisation on x86-64 hardware backed by high-availability SSD arrays, delivered as plain infrastructure as a service. The published specifications were unusually precise for this segment: Intel Xeon Platinum 8163 (Skylake) or 8269CY (Cascade Lake) processors at 2.5 GHz, configurations reaching 64 vCPUs, enterprise DDR4 ECC memory with NUMA and Huge Pages support scaling to 256 GB, and BGP bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps with IPv6 and multi-line routing.
The catalogue came in two tiers. The Cloud VPS series addressed individual developers, students and smaller companies running modest websites, test environments and lightweight applications. The Dedicated VPS series offered persistent enterprise-grade compute with varied processor-to-memory ratios. Around them sat a Cloud VDS line, a Windows line, a China-optimised range retired in July 2025, and pre-configured game servers for titles including Palworld, Soulmask, Minecraft, Rust, Valheim and ARK.
Instances could be placed in eight regions — Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Virginia, Silicon Valley, Frankfurt, Jakarta and London — with the choice locked at creation. Storage paired a system disk tied to the instance lifecycle with detachable data disks of up to 16 TiB. Everything was driven from a web console covering provisioning, remote access, passwords, monitoring and release. Support was ticket-based, free and available around the clock, though no support email address was ever published.
Two caveats defined the service well before it closed. ClawCloud reported 99.975% measured uptime but refused to offer any formal availability guarantee, and it exposed no public API, so nothing could be automated programmatically. It offered no GPU instances and no AI capability of any kind.

Pricing & Plans
No price was publicly readable at the time of review. The storefront returned no visible products, the shopping cart replied with an HTTP 403 error, and the documentation's own pricing page set out billing rules without a single amount. The billing mechanism itself is documented: a recurring subscription, invoiced seven days before each renewal date, with taxes charged on top. No permanent free plan and no free trial are documented. Refunds, by contrast, were codified: a full refund within one day of server creation provided no more than 5 GB of transfer had been used, or a residual-value refund within thirty days, both subject to a 10% handling fee. The refunds issued at shutdown waived that fee and were calculated pro rata on the remaining time.

GDPR overview
Implementation was more concrete than at most providers of this size. ClawCloud published a standalone Data Processing Addendum defining GDPR as Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and incorporating the standard contractual clauses annexed to the European Commission's Implementing Decision 2021/914/EU of 4 June 2021, together with a UK Addendum for the UK GDPR. The competent supervisory authority is determined under clause 13 of those clauses. The privacy policy names EEA and UK rights explicitly — objection, restriction of processing, portability — exercised in writing at compliance@claw.cloud, and reminds users they may complain to a supervisory authority. Transfers outside Singapore, the EEA and the UK rest on standard contractual clauses and binding corporate rules. Two gaps remain: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, and no security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed anywhere.
Who owns the data?
Clause 4.3 of the terms left customers every right they held in their Member Content: as between the two parties, the customer owned all intellectual property in the data uploaded, and ClawCloud owned the platform. The company undertook not to access or use that content except where necessary to provide or maintain the service, or to comply with the law. For personal data it was the controller of the account information it collected directly, and only a processor for whatever customers stored on behalf of their own end users. One inconsistency deserves attention: clause 7 preserves, after termination, a licence over Member Content that clause 4.3 states was never granted.
Reuse rights
Customers could reuse their own content freely. ClawCloud claimed no ownership and no exploitation right over it, so no permission was needed to copy, move or republish anything a customer had uploaded. The restriction ran the other way: ClawCloud's own material could not be copied, reproduced, downloaded or compiled. Backups were entirely the customer's burden — the terms made them solely responsible for the security, protection and backup of their content. Customers also answered for their end users' activity, and ClawCloud reserved the right to remove, modify or reject unlawful content at its sole discretion. Copyright complaints followed Part IXA of the Singapore Copyright Act, addressed to the company's registered office.

Hosting summary
Data centres were announced in eight regions: Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Virginia, Silicon Valley, Frankfurt, Jakarta and London. Customers chose the region when creating an instance, and that choice was final. The privacy policy formalised it as a Selected Region for storing customer content, but reserved a significant right alongside it: unless otherwise agreed in writing, ClawCloud could transfer and store data in other geographic regions or jurisdictions at its sole discretion. International transfers relied on standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules and comparable agreements. The company was established in Singapore and the terms were governed by Singapore law, with exclusive jurisdiction in Singapore courts. One technical caution: claw.cloud resolves to a Cloudflare anycast address geolocated in the United States, which marks a CDN point of presence and says nothing about where customer data actually sat. No hosting certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 was ever claimed.

Technical difficulty
Demanding, and openly aimed at a technical audience. What arrived was a bare Linux instance: the console handled creation, region, passwords, monitoring and disks, but everything inside the machine was the customer's job — SSH access, hardening, updates, backups and supervision. Only Linux images were available at the time of review, with Windows announced as forthcoming. The absence of an API ruled out automated provisioning. Pre-configured game servers were the exception, offering a far shorter path for non-specialists.

ClawCloud lasted barely two years. Its domain first appeared in the Wayback Machine on 30 May 2024, and on 30 June 2026 the company switched off every server it ran. The closure was less an abrupt failure than the last step of a visible retreat: the China-optimised range went in July 2025, the affiliate programme in November 2025, then the hosting business itself — each announced politely, on schedule, with a refund plan attached.
That is a pity, because the engineering case was sound. Few providers at this price point publish processor model numbers, memory technologies and bandwidth architecture as plainly as ClawCloud did, and its legal groundwork was better than the segment average: a genuine data processing addendum carrying the 2021/914 standard contractual clauses, and an unambiguous statement that customers owned what they uploaded. Support was free, continuous and ticket-based.
The weaknesses were structural rather than technical. There was no service level agreement, only a measured uptime figure the company was careful never to guarantee. There was no API, so the platform could not fit an infrastructure-as-code workflow. Prices had stopped being publicly readable, and no security certification was ever claimed.
For a reader today this entry is an archive, and its most useful content is a caution. ClawCloud gave thirty days' notice, then permanently destroyed the data of everyone who had not migrated — having already made clear in its terms that backups were the customer's responsibility alone. A seven-day grace period on an unpaid invoice carried the same consequence. That risk never belongs to the supplier; it is answered with backups held somewhere the supplier cannot reach.
