GDPR overview
Implementation is documented but modest. The privacy policy, last updated 15 August 2026, names Stack Craft LLC as controller and devotes a section to EEA and UK legal bases: contract performance, legitimate interests, consent and legal obligation. Data subject rights are set out in full, including access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, restriction and withdrawal of consent, exercised by writing to hello@clonesite.ai, with a stated right to complain to a local supervisory authority. Six subprocessors are named. Transfers to the United States are acknowledged with appropriate safeguards where required, but no mechanism is identified and standard contractual clauses are never mentioned. There is no data protection officer, no Article 27 EU representative, no Data Processing Agreement on offer, and no security certification claimed anywhere on the site.
Who owns the data?
The terms split ownership cleanly. Stack Craft LLC owns the Service itself, meaning the Clonesite name, software and design, and grants you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use it. Everything you supply and everything the engine produces for you remains yours; the company takes only the limited licence it needs to operate, namely processing your URLs and storing your clones and exports. It claims no ownership over the third-party content you choose to clone, and states it never sells personal data, sharing it only with its named subprocessors, where the law compels it, or in a merger or asset sale. Feedback is the exception: suggestions you send carry a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence.
Reuse rights
Exported code needs no further permission. Once credits are spent, the React and Tailwind source is downloaded without a watermark, hosted anywhere, edited freely and shipped under your own brand. The restrictions sit either side of that file. Upstream, you may only clone pages you own or hold the rights to, and never anything behind a login or a paywall. Downstream, the terms forbid infringing copyright or trademarks, impersonating a brand, and building deceptive or phishing sites, and they require you to replace the original logo, copy, images, claims and calls to action before publishing. Reselling or sublicensing the Service itself is barred as well. Hosting summary
No hosting country is named as such. The privacy policy says only that Clonesite and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries, relying on appropriate safeguards where required but naming no mechanism. What is disclosed is the infrastructure: Convex supplies the backend, database and authentication; Cloudflare provides hosting, email routing, bot protection through Turnstile and R2 file storage; Stripe handles payments; Google handles OAuth sign-in; and analytics run on PostHog, explicitly located in the United States, and Microsoft Clarity. Exported clone artifacts sit in Cloudflare R2 and are served through short-lived signed URLs. The stated safeguards are encryption in transit, hashed IP addresses in abuse-prevention logs and time-limited download links. No security certification is claimed and no data residency option is offered. Stack Craft LLC is a United States company, and the terms place both governing law and jurisdiction there. The domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast address, which identifies no physical datacentre.
