Clueso is an AI production platform whose stated promise is product videos in minutes: it takes a raw screen recording and returns both a polished video and the written documentation that goes with it. GDPR overview
The privacy policy, effective 20 September 2023, carries an explicit GDPR section that links to the official EU text and lists the rights of EU and EEA residents: access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, portability and withdrawal of consent. Requests go to founders@clueso.io, identity verification may be required before a response, and the right to complain to an EEA supervisory authority is stated. Separate CCPA and CalOPPA sections follow, and Do Not Track signals are honored. The plan comparison table shows a GDPR line on every tier, and the enterprise page advertises "SOC 2 & GDPR Compliant" with a DPA for enterprise customers. Two gaps stand out: no Article 27 EU representative and no DPO are named anywhere, and the transfer of personal data to the United States announced for users located outside it comes with no mention of standard contractual clauses.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of service, users keep all rights to the Content they submit and remain responsible for it, including its legality and any third-party rights. Desklamp, Inc. describes itself as the Data Controller of the personal data it collects, and reserves the right, without any obligation, to monitor or edit user Content. The privacy policy, effective 20 September 2023, states a strict no-selling and no-trading policy, and the vendor states that customer data is never used to train its models. Clueso employees cannot reach a workspace without explicit permission granted for support or debugging. Disclosure remains possible to named subprocessors, to authorities under legal compulsion and in a merger or asset sale; content and associated data can be deleted at any time from workspace settings.
Reuse rights
Because users retain their rights to the Content they upload and generate, the output can be reused without asking Desklamp, Inc. for permission. Videos export as MP4 or GIF, help articles as Rich Text, Markdown or HTML, and captions as VTT or SRT. Finished content can be distributed through a view-only link, an embed code or the customizable video player, or hosted elsewhere entirely. Viewing volume is not billed: the site states that the number of views does not affect the price. Watermark-free export starts with the Solo plan, while the Free plan keeps a watermark. Export quotas are counted on the longest version exported during a cycle, so re-exports of the same video are not charged twice. The optional YouTube integration publishes only to the channel the user authorizes, and its OAuth tokens are deleted on disconnection. In return, the user warrants holding the rights to whatever is uploaded.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
All data, including audio, video and HTML data, is stored on S3 within AWS and protected by IAM policies. The FAQ states that storage is distributed across three AWS regions, Mumbai, Frankfurt and California, with the location following the user's region or the region in which the project was created; the customer does not pick the region. Encryption in transit and at rest is claimed on the enterprise page, alongside SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification and regular security audits. Jurisdiction sits with Desklamp, Inc., established in Delaware: the privacy policy, effective 20 September 2023, states that data belonging to users located outside the United States is transferred to and processed in the United States. A DPA and full security documentation are available to enterprise customers, and content can be deleted by the user at any time from workspace settings. Two blind spots remain: no standard contractual clauses are mentioned for the transfer, and no region choice is offered. Note also that the site's resolved IP address (31.43.161.6, Amsterdam, Amazon AS16509) is an anycast CDN node, not a storage location.
