Convertology
Convertology is an AI copy analyzer for websites: paste a page URL and it audits headlines, CTAs and product descriptions, flags what weakens conversion, then proposes rewritten 4U headlines, all in roughly eleven seconds.
What is Convertology?
Convertology is a web service that audits the wording of a page and tells you what is costing you conversions. You paste a URL, press Analyze Copy, and the tool fetches the page, captures a screenshot of it and hands the text to an AI model for review. The homepage promises the result in eleven seconds.
The analysis is not a general critique. It walks eight kinds of page element in a fixed order of priority: the main hero headline first, then the hero subheadline, the primary call-to-action button, navigation menu items, feature headlines, feature descriptions, social proof headlines and finally secondary calls to action. Each problem it finds comes back in three parts — how the text reads now, why that element matters, and a proposed replacement you can copy straight out of the interface. The captured screenshot sits alongside, so you can see where each flagged element actually lives on the page.
The editorial angle is headlines. Convertology sells a method it calls 4U, which according to the site means copy that grabs attention, creates urgency, highlights unique value and answers the reader's need; the four words behind the initials are never spelled out anywhere. To make its case the homepage displays headlines from Spotify, Netflix, Ship Fast and Interior AI as worked examples, and leans on advertising folklore: headlines read five times more often than body text, six seconds to capture attention, forty more seconds won when the headline lands.
An account is optional to begin with — a first analysis runs in an anonymous session that can later be attached to a permanent login — but signing in is what preserves the history of past audits. Subscribers on the Pro plan also unlock a conversational CRO Assistant for follow-up questions.
The claims are confident and largely unevidenced: the About page asserts an average 127% increase in conversion rates for clients, with no methodology, sample or source. The service is English-only, runs entirely in the browser, and offers no API and no mobile app.
What it does
- Audit the copy of any public web page from its URL alone
- Pinpoint the specific wording that is costing conversions
- Get a suggested rewrite for every weakness found
- Generate headlines built on the 4U method
- Review hero headlines, CTAs, navigation and social proof in a single pass
- Revisit earlier audits from a per-account history
- Ask a CRO assistant for tailored advice, on the Pro plan
When to use Convertology / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Convertology is the right fit.
When to use Convertology
- CRO specialists who want a fast second opinion on landing page copy
- Solo founders and freelancers writing their own website text
- E-commerce owners on Shopify, Wix or Squarespace with underperforming pages
- Paid media buyers whose ad spend hinges on the landing page headline
- Developers who build the site but would rather not write the copy
When not to use Convertology
- Teams that need real A/B testing and measured conversion lift, not suggestions
- Anyone auditing pages behind a login, since only public URLs can be analyzed
- Organizations requiring a signed DPA or documented GDPR compliance
- Developers looking for an API or any programmatic access
- Non-English websites and teams needing a localized interface
How to use Convertology
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open the homepage and paste the URL of the page you want to audit
- Press Analyze Copy and wait through the progress messages
- Read each finding in turn: current wording, why it matters, suggested fix
- Check the captured screenshot to locate each flagged element on the page
- Copy the proposed rewrites straight from the interface
- Create an account, or sign in with Google, to keep the audit in your history
- Return to Analysis History to revisit or compare earlier audits
- Subscribe through Stripe from the pricing page once the free quota runs out
- Open the CRO Assistant chat for follow-up questions, if you are on the Pro plan
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Nothing to install: a URL is the only input required
- Findings are structured and directly actionable rather than vague advice
- The scope of the audit is stated explicitly, element by element
- Screenshots make each flagged element easy to locate on the page
- A permanent free tier allows five analyses per month
- A 14-day free trial is advertised on every paid plan
- Entry pricing is low for the category at 14 EUR per month
Cons
- No mention of the GDPR at all, despite a publisher established in the EU
- No retention period, no subprocessor list and no DPA published
- The claim that data is never stored contradicts the stored analysis history
- Currency is inconsistent: dollar signs on screen, euros charged, USD in the terms
- The Contact Support and sales contact buttons do nothing
- No API, no mobile app, and an English-only interface
- The advertised 127% average conversion lift comes with no evidence
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free plan is available and allows up to five website analyses per month. Paid subscriptions start at 14.00 EUR per month for the BASIC plan, which removes the analysis limit; the PRO plan is charged at 29.00 EUR per month and adds priority support and access to the AI copywriting assistant. A 14-day free trial is advertised on all plans. Prospective subscribers should note an inconsistency: the pricing page displays a dollar sign, the payment catalogue is denominated in euros, and the terms of service state that payments are processed in USD. The currency should be confirmed at checkout.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Convertology handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no mention of the GDPR anywhere on the site — not one occurrence in the privacy policy, the terms of service or any other page. That is notable, because the publisher, OmegaWalls OÜ, is established in Tallinn, Estonia, and therefore falls squarely within the regulation's scope. The privacy policy, last updated on 6 October 2024, does list rights that echo it — access, correction or deletion, restriction of processing and objection — but introduces them with the hedge that they depend on the reader's location, and never names the framework behind them. No lawful basis for processing is stated, no retention period is given, no data protection officer or Article 27 representative is designated, and no data processing agreement is offered. Requests have a single channel: the general address info@convertology.ai.
Who owns the data?
The published terms are unusually thin on ownership. Convertology.ai states that the intellectual property in the service itself — code, databases, software, designs, text, graphics and logos — belongs to the publisher or is licensed to it, and grants users only a limited right of access and use. Nothing in the terms or the privacy policy says who owns what users submit, namely the page URLs analyzed and the reports produced from them. The publisher declares that it collects only information provided voluntarily, does not process sensitive personal information and receives nothing from third parties. Beyond that, ownership of user content is simply never addressed.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the published terms restricts what users may do with the recommendations they receive, and the publisher claims no licence back over submitted URLs or generated copy, so the suggestions can be reused freely; the site's own FAQ confirms that users keep full editorial control and may adapt every suggestion to their brand voice. What the publisher does with the data is less clear. The stated purposes are confined to running the analysis, managing accounts, answering enquiries and processing payments, with no mention of model training either way. The About page claims website data is never stored or shared with third parties, yet every account keeps a browsable history of past analyses.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
The publisher discloses nothing about where data is hosted. There is no trust or security page, no jurisdiction named and no certification claimed — neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 appears anywhere on the site — and the privacy policy limits itself to a reference to industry-standard security measures. What can be established from outside the site is only indicative: the domain resolves to an address located in Frankfurt, Germany, on Amazon Web Services infrastructure, and the application is built on Google's Firebase and Firestore, whose region is not declared. Payments are handled by Stripe. None of this amounts to a hosting commitment by the publisher, and none of it appears in documentation a customer could rely on. Anyone with a data residency requirement should treat the question as unanswered and ask directly before subscribing.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Convertology.
- Every URL you submit is passed to a third-party scraping service and an external AI provider, neither of which is named in the privacy policy
- Live third-party API credentials ship inside the JavaScript delivered to every visitor, a poor signal on the publisher's security hygiene
- Analyses are retained in a per-account history despite a public claim that website data is never stored
- No retention period is published, so there is no way to know how long submitted URLs and reports survive
- Rewriting headlines to a formula can flatten a distinctive brand voice if suggestions are applied uncritically
- The tool judges wording alone and never measures real conversions, so any improvement stays unproven until you test it
- Confident but unevidenced claims, such as an average 127% lift, invite over-reliance on the tool's judgement
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Negligible. There is nothing to install, no script to add to the site being analyzed and no configuration to complete: a URL pasted into the homepage is enough, and a first analysis runs without an account. Signing in takes one click with a Google account, and a paid subscription is arranged through Stripe checkout. No technical skill is required at any point, which is consistent with a product aimed at founders, freelancers and marketers rather than developers.

Should you pick Convertology?
Convertology does one thing and does it legibly: it turns a URL into a prioritized list of copy problems with a proposed rewrite for each. For a solo founder, a freelancer or a small e-commerce team with no copywriter on hand, that is a genuinely useful second opinion, and an entry price of 14 EUR a month alongside a permanent free tier makes it cheap to test.
The reservations are not about the product but about everything around it. The legal apparatus is thin to the point of being a liability: four short sections of privacy policy, no retention period, no subprocessor list, no data processing agreement, and — for a company registered in Estonia, inside the European Union — not a single mention of the GDPR. The About page states that website data is never stored, while the product keeps a per-account history of every analysis. The pricing page shows dollar signs over amounts charged in euros, and the terms announce payments in USD. Buttons labelled Contact Support and Contact our sales team do nothing at all.
Taken together these read as the marks of a young service shipped quickly and maintained lightly rather than of bad faith, but they matter. Anyone submitting client URLs should know that the page is passed to a third-party scraping service and analyzed by an external model provider, neither of which appears in the published documentation.
Convertology is worth a run on the free tier, particularly for headline work, where its advice is concrete and immediately usable. It is not yet a tool to place at the centre of a professional CRO practice, and the unevidenced claim of a 127% average lift should be read as marketing rather than measurement.
