GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is documented rather than merely asserted. The privacy policy, last updated on 16 July 2026, is written against Regulation 2016/679 and separates DataSnipper's role as controller for website and account data from its role as processor for material handled inside the software. A data processing agreement is published and versioned, the current one dated 1 June 2026, and points to an up-to-date subprocessor list on the trust centre. Processing may take place within the EEA, or outside it where the country offers an adequate level of protection. DataSnipper Inc is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent are all listed and exercised by email, with a one-month response extendable by two. Complaints go to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. No Article 27 representative and no data protection officer are named.
Who owns the data?
The customer keeps ownership of everything it uploads. The terms state that, as between the two parties, the customer owns all right, title and interest, including intellectual property rights, in its Customer Data. The customer grants DataSnipper a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that data only as far as necessary to deliver the service. The reverse is equally explicit: the software and the underlying technology remain the vendor's, no ownership passes to the customer, and aggregated statistics are counted as DataSnipper property rather than customer data. For personal data, DataSnipper acts as processor on the customer's behalf, the customer remaining the controller.
Reuse rights
Because customers own their Customer Data outright, they may reuse, export and share what they produce without asking DataSnipper for permission, within the scope of use fixed by their Order Form. What DataSnipper may do with the same material is narrower: its licence runs only as far as delivering the service. The company states that its AI products rely on pre-trained models only, that it neither fine-tunes nor trains any generative model on customer data, and that prompts and documents are processed for at most 24 hours before being permanently deleted. Vendor management controls are said to push those commitments down to the LLM providers behind the product. Separately, and outside the software, the privacy policy covers website and sales data: analytics and advertising cookies, and video sales calls run through Gong, which transcribes them and collects biometric data through facial recognition where the participant has consented beforehand.
