GDPR overview

There is no GDPR implementation to report. Across every page collected — homepage, pricing, Privacy Policy and Terms of Use — the words GDPR, CCPA and data processing agreement do not appear once. No legal basis for processing is stated, no data subject rights are set out in the regulation's terms, no Article 27 representative is designated and no Data Protection Officer is named. The policy is built on a FreePrivacyPolicy template, and its international transfer clause is generic, naming neither standard contractual clauses nor an adequacy decision. Its Definitions section identifies the governing country as China. The Chrome Web Store listing goes further, stating that the developer has not identified itself as a trader and that European Union consumer rights therefore do not apply to the contract. Both documents took effect on 6 January 2024.

Who owns the data?

DeepTab's published documents are unusually quiet on ownership: neither the Terms of Use nor the Privacy Policy claims a licence over the content you submit, and no clause assigns your material to the publisher. What the policy does describe is collection — an email address plus usage data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and device identifiers — and the Chrome Web Store listing adds that the extension handles personally identifiable information and website content. You keep the right to update, correct or delete your data from the account settings or by request, subject to the publisher retaining whatever a legal obligation or lawful basis requires it to keep.

Reuse rights

The documents grant end users no explicit right to reuse, redistribute or commercially exploit whatever the service produces, and no licence terms cover generated content at all. The Terms of Use ask only that you use the service lawfully and that you refrain from uploading or transmitting anything infringing a third party's intellectual property rights. In practice this leaves the status of outputs undefined rather than restricted: nothing in the documents forbids reuse, but nothing confirms it either. Users are separately told they may update, amend or delete their own personal information at any time from their account settings. Anyone intending to publish or monetise material produced through DeepTab would be prudent to obtain written confirmation from the publisher first, since the silence cuts both ways.

Data retention & training

Hosting summary

DeepTab publishes no hosting location. Neither the Privacy Policy nor the Terms of Use names a country, a region or a provider where user data is stored. The policy's transfer clause is generic, stating only that information is processed at the company's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located, and warning that data protection laws there may differ from the user's own. No transfer mechanism is named — neither standard contractual clauses nor an adequacy decision. The one geographical marker in the documents is the Definitions section of the Privacy Policy, which identifies the governing country as China; this speaks to jurisdiction rather than to where data physically sits. The website itself is served behind Cloudflare, whose anycast address tells you about the content delivery network and nothing about where user records are kept. Anyone with data residency requirements should treat this as undocumented and ask the publisher directly.
