Devv is an AI coding agent that turns a plain-language prompt into a full-stack web application, with authentication, database, email and LLM features built in. It targets indie builders, small teams and non-technical creators.
What is Devv?
Devv is an AI coding agent published by Index Labs, which also trades under the Devv.AI name; the devv.ai domain was registered on 30 October 2023. The current product, Devv Code, builds full-stack, AI-powered web applications from plain text. The home page sums the promise up as Ship Your Product in 10 Minutes and offers production-ready applications created from prompts, while its meta description claims the tool is trusted by 700k+ developers and backed by millions in funding.
The product exists in this form after a deliberate pivot. Devv launched in 2023 as an AI search engine for developers; Index Labs announced Devv 2.0 on 14 May 2025 and opened the coding agent to the public on 27 August 2025. The original search product, Devv Search, is still reachable and is listed in the footer as a separate offering.
What the company puts forward is that the parts an AI product actually needs are built in rather than bolted on. Six native integrations ship with the platform: Devv Database, Devv Authentication, Devv LLM, Devv Email, Devv Web Search and Devv Web Reader. Four third-party services are documented on top: OpenRouter for access to hundreds of models, ElevenLabs for voice, Replicate for thousands of models, and Nano Banana for image generation. Index Labs states that it is not aiming at fancy landing pages or pretty demos but at building real AI products.
Usage runs on credits: one message sent costs one credit. Three tiers are published - Free, Pro and Team - but Team is marked Coming Soon and only offers a waitlist, so team collaboration is not yet delivered. Applications published by users are served on devv.app subdomains.
Around the product, documentation lives on docs.devv.ai, the community gathers on Discord, and feedback plus the changelog sit on hub.devv.ai. The interface is available in seven locales: English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish and Russian.

Pricing & Plans
Devv follows a freemium model billed in US dollars. A permanent free plan is available at no cost, with 300 credits per month, 300 welcome credits, a maximum of three projects and community support. The lowest paid entry point is the Pro plan at USD 25.00 per month, or USD 240 per year, which includes 2,500 credits per month and unlimited projects. A Team plan at USD 49 per seat per month, or USD 470 per seat per year with 3,000 pooled credits per seat, is announced as Coming Soon and can only be joined through a waitlist. Pro and Team subscribers may also purchase one-off credit packs: Starter, 1,000 credits for USD 10; Developer, 5,000 credits for USD 45 instead of 50; Power, 10,000 credits for USD 85 instead of 100; and Launch, 40,000 credits for USD 320 instead of 400. Add-on credits never expire, whereas subscription credits expire at the end of the billing cycle. One message sent costs one credit. A full refund is granted when no credit has been consumed and the subscription is less than five days old, or less than one month old on annual billing, and a pro-rata refund applies when less than 20% of the credits have been used within that same window. Plans may be changed at any time, upgrades taking effect immediately and pro rata and downgrades at the next cycle, and subscriptions are cancelled through the Stripe customer portal.

GDPR overview
The word GDPR appears nowhere: not on the site, not in the terms of service, not in the privacy policy, not in the documentation. Devv neither claims nor denies compliance. The privacy policy does grant rights phrased in the Californian style, although CCPA is not named either: the right to know what data is collected and how it is used and disclosed, the right to request deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Rights are exercised by emailing company@devv.ai. There is no Article 27 EU representative, no data protection officer, no published DPA, no sub-processor list and no stated retention period. The privacy policy carries no effective date; the terms are dated 30 January 2024. The minimum age is 13, with parental permission required under 18.
Who owns the data?
The terms of service state that you keep the intellectual property rights in the content you upload: what belongs to you stays yours. In return, you grant Devv and the parties it works with a worldwide licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute that content. Devv frames that licence as serving the operation, promotion and improvement of the service and the development of new ones. You remain solely responsible for what you post or transmit, and Devv may preserve content and disclose it where the law requires. The documentation adds that environment variables and sensitive information are encrypted and accessible only to the project owner.
Reuse rights
Because ownership of uploaded content stays with the user, nothing in the terms requires permission to reuse your own content or the applications you generate, and Pro subscribers can export and download their project's source code. On the provider's side, the privacy policy says Devv collects account, communication, social-media and technical data - logs, cookies, device and usage information - and uses it to provide and administer the service, to maintain, improve and repair it, to inform users and answer their requests, to send administrative information, to analyse interactions, to develop new programmes and services and to prevent fraud. Personal information may be aggregated, and aggregated information may be shared with third parties or published. Third-party analytics are used, with Google Analytics named as an example. Devv states plainly that it does not and will not sell personal information. Neither the terms nor the privacy policy ever mentions training AI models on customer data: the subject is simply never addressed.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
No hosting country or region is published anywhere. Neither the terms of service, nor the privacy policy, nor the documentation names a jurisdiction, a data centre or a cloud provider, and Devv makes no hosting commitment of any kind. No certification is claimed either: SOC 2 and ISO 27001 are never mentioned. What can be observed technically is not a vendor statement and says nothing about where data is stored: devv.ai resolves to 76.76.21.21, a Vercel anycast node, and docs.devv.ai is a CNAME to cname.vercel-dns.com. Applications published by users are served on devv.app subdomains. The only published technical guarantee concerns confidentiality rather than location: the documentation states that environment variables and sensitive information are encrypted and securely stored, and that only the project owner can access a project's confidential data. Anyone with a data-residency requirement will have to ask Index Labs directly at company@devv.ai, because nothing on the site answers the question.

- The content licence granted to Devv is broad and covers derivative works meant to improve the service and develop new ones, so assume anything you paste can be processed well beyond your own project
- Nothing is said about model training or any opt-out, so there is no documented way to keep your prompts and code out of future products
- No postal address, no company register entry and no EU representative: in case of a dispute there is no identified counterparty beyond an email address
- The legal documents live on public Notion pages, which can be edited at any time with no visible version history
- Subscription credits vanish at the end of the cycle, which pushes towards rushed end-of-month usage; the public forum shows many cancellation and refund requests
- Building by prompt is fast and habit-forming: the code arrives before the understanding does, and a creator who never reads what was generated cannot audit, debug or secure it

Devv is a young product that owns its pivot: an AI search engine for developers in 2023, an AI coding agent since August 2025. That history matters, because what the platform sells today is not the ability to write code but the ability to assemble a working AI product without leaving the browser.
Its distinctive strength is the plumbing. Authentication, a database, email, web search, an LLM and image generation are native, so an idea becomes a running application without opening a single third-party account or pasting an API key. Pricing is published in full, add-on credit packs never expire, and Pro users can export their source code: three signals that the vendor is not betting on lock-in.
The reservations are administrative rather than technical. The legal documentation is thin and out of date: the terms of service still carry a January 2024 stamp, describe a text generation service and restrict use to personal, non-commercial purposes, wording that fits poorly with a tool sold to ship products.
