Overview

What is DryMerge?

DryMerge is built by DryMerge, Inc., a two-person American company founded by Edward Frazer and Samuel Brashears that went through Y Combinator's W24 batch. Its current flagship is CRM activity capture: AI agents read what a team already produces and write the result into the CRM, so nobody has to open a new tool or retype a meeting.

The announced setup is three steps. You connect your data sources and your CRM, the agents analyze emails, meetings and messages, and the CRM updates itself. Agents are described as running 24/7, 365 days a year, and can be tuned to a specific sales process through custom fields, custom objects and the communication style the team uses. The home page claims 50+ business apps, while the /apps directory lists roughly 85 named connectors, each with its own page: Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, DealCloud and Affinity on the CRM side, Gmail, Outlook, Slack and Teams for conversation, and Gong, Fireflies, Fathom, Grain and Granola for call transcripts.

Behind that product sits DryMerge's original automation platform, still online and linked from every footer. There, automations are created through a chat interface in plain English. The documentation's own example reads: When I receive an inflammatory email from a big customer, please notify me on Slack with a summary and update Salesforce. A gallery of ready-made agents covers CRM, personal assistant and project management scenarios.

Accuracy is stated per tier: roughly 85-90% with standard models, up to 99.999% on the Professional tier, and custom models on Enterprise. The site carries named testimonials from Michael Scarola (COO, Altai Capital), Cameron Barnes (Director of Operations, ContextLogic Inc.) and Chris Weaver (CEO, Onyx AI), plus one customer claim of more than ten hours a week saved on CRM entry. The company positions itself against no-code builders rather than alongside them, arguing on its own blog that most of its users had never used Zapier or Make. It raised a $2.2M seed round in September 2024 and was covered that year by TechCrunch, Business Insider and Yahoo Finance.

What it does

  • Monitor email, calendar and call transcripts continuously
  • Extract the useful details out of customer conversations
  • Create and update contacts, accounts, notes and deals in the CRM
  • Fill in custom fields and custom objects rather than standard ones only
  • Associate related CRM records with each other
  • Automate email follow-ups on the higher tiers
  • Update spreadsheets from what the agents observe
Audience

When to use DryMerge / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if DryMerge is the right fit.

When to use DryMerge

  • Sales teams whose CRM records stay incomplete because reps skip the manual data entry
  • Investment firms and asset managers working in DealCloud or Affinity, the profile behind the published Altai Capital testimonial
  • Operations teams juggling complex workflows across email, meetings, spreadsheets and project tools
  • Startups with no dedicated CRM administrator, where record keeping quietly falls on the founders
  • Non-technical users who have never touched Zapier or Make: DryMerge's own blog says it markets itself at exactly that group

When not to use DryMerge

  • Buyers who need a published price before speaking to sales, since the flagship CRM product is quote-only
  • Teams that need a public API, as no API documentation is published on the site or in the docs
  • Organizations required to keep data inside the EU, because the announced infrastructure is entirely in the United States
  • Procurement processes that demand formal certifications, as neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001 is published
  • Anyone expecting a mobile app or phone support, since contact runs through email and a booked call only
Get started

How to use DryMerge

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Start from the site's dominant call to action, Book a Demo, which opens a scheduling page with one of the founders
  2. Or open an account directly through the sign-up page at auth.drymerge.com
  3. Connect your business tools and your CRM, which the site advertises as taking minutes
  4. Authorize each integration yourself through OAuth, the connection flow described in the subprocessor list
  5. Tell the agents what matters: custom fields, custom objects and the communication style of your sales process
  6. Let the agents analyze incoming emails, meetings and call transcripts in the background
  7. Check that the contacts, notes and deals written into the CRM match what you expected, especially in the first weeks
  8. On the original platform, describe an automation in plain English in the chat; DryMerge confirms the details, then sets it up
  9. On the Business and Professional tiers, use the white-glove onboarding and the dedicated Slack channel
  10. If you leave, follow the account deletion procedure documented in the DryMerge docs

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Runs in the background on the tools a team already uses, with no new interface to adopt
  • Broad integration coverage, with roughly 85 connectors listed and each given its own page
  • Handles custom CRM objects and fields, not only standard contacts and deals
  • Unusually complete legal stack for a company this size: terms, privacy, cookies, DPA, subprocessors, acceptable use and limited use
  • Named and dated subprocessor list, with 30 days' notice before any change
  • Explicit commitment never to train models on customer data, with AI processing gated behind an opt-in checkbox
  • A permanently free tier and a 25 USD per month entry point on the platform, backed by Y Combinator and a 2.2 million USD seed round

Cons

  • The flagship CRM product is entirely quote-based, with no published price on any of its three tiers
  • Two pricing grids coexist, /pricing for the CRM agents and /pricing/platform for the original platform, so the footer link and the home page lead to different tables
  • No postal address is published anywhere, and the DPA still carries the unfilled placeholder Address: [Company Address]
  • Legal documents span three generations: terms from 12 September 2023, privacy from 14 February 2024, DPA and subprocessors from 22 October 2025
  • The privacy policy still describes an embeddable chatbot, vocabulary that predates the CRM product now promoted
  • No security certification is published, neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001, and there is no public API documentation
  • Production rough edges remain: /solutions/agents returns a 404 from the legacy header, and several Get started buttons point at an empty anchor
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

There is a free plan, but only on one of the two pricing grids. The original automation platform, on /pricing/platform, offers a permanently free tier at 0 USD per month, an Individual plan at 25.00 USD per month, then Business and Enterprise on request. The CRM product promoted on the home page, on /pricing, is priced differently: its three tiers, Basic, Professional and Enterprise, all carry a Request a Quote button and no published amount. The lowest advertised paid entry point is therefore 25.00 USD per month, and it buys the automation platform rather than the CRM agents. Payments are processed by Stripe, and no annual discount is displayed.

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how DryMerge handles your data.

GDPR overview

DryMerge publishes a data processing agreement presented as its DPA for GDPR compliance, effective 22 October 2025. It makes the customer the controller and DryMerge the processor, relies on standard contractual clauses for transfers out of the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, promises breach notification without undue delay, commits to passing data subject requests to the customer within five business days, and grants an annual audit right with 30 days' notice. A public subprocessor list carries the same 30 days' notice before changes and a ten-business-day objection window, with a data protection officer reachable at privacy@drymerge.com. The Enterprise tier advertises GDPR and HIPAA compliance options. Two gaps deserve naming: no Article 27 EU representative is designated, and the privacy policy itself is written around CCPA and California law, with no dedicated GDPR section.

Who owns the data?

The terms are explicit that the customer keeps their own content. DryMerge states that you retain the intellectual property rights over content you submit and that it will never claim ownership, and the home page repeats that you retain full ownership of everything you create. In exchange, you grant DryMerge a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable and worldwide license to use that content in order to run the service. The license is not perpetual: it ends when you delete the content or close the account. Under the data processing agreement, the split follows the standard pattern, with the customer as controller of personal data and DryMerge as processor acting on documented instructions.

Reuse rights

Because ownership stays with the customer, nothing in the terms limits what you do with the notes, records and summaries the agents write into your own systems. On DryMerge's side, the personal data collected covers the email address used to open the account, user-generated content, transaction data and log data such as IP address, browser, pages viewed and timestamps. The DPA lists the categories processed on the customer's behalf: contacts, authentication data, messages and emails, CRM data, calendar data, tasks and projects. Stated purposes are delivering the platform, communicating with users, internal record keeping, meeting legal obligations, and security and fraud prevention. Sharing with AI models is opt-in rather than automatic: an explicit checkbox at the moment an automation is created sends content to OpenAI or Anthropic for real-time inference, with no storage on the provider side, and DryMerge states that user data is never used to train models. Processing happens only on the customer's documented instructions, and international transfers rely on standard contractual clauses.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
DryMerge keeps data for as long as it needs it to run the service, or as the law requires. Account data lives for the lifetime of the account, then is deleted or anonymized. Customers can delete their content at any time from the interface, and the documentation includes a step-by-step account deletion procedure. When a contract ends, the DPA commits to deleting or returning personal data within 90 days of termination, with a written certification of deletion available on request. The exceptions are spelled out: data kept to meet a legal obligation, data that has already been anonymized, and cases where deletion is technically impossible. Retention may also continue for legal or accounting duties, public-interest archiving or research purposes.

Hosting summary

DryMerge states on its home page that all of its data infrastructure is hosted in the United States. The subprocessor list confirms Amazon Web Services as the hosting provider, located in the United States, and the privacy policy adds that data is stored and processed there. The other declared subprocessors sit in the same jurisdiction: OpenAI and Anthropic for model inference, Stripe for payments, SendGrid (Twilio) for email delivery, Slack for support and Google Analytics for measurement, with PostHog listed in both the United States and the European Union. No European hosting region is offered, so customers subject to GDPR rely on the standard contractual clauses set out in the DPA. Declared protections are encryption in transit with TLS 1.2 or above, encryption at rest with AES-256, multi-factor authentication on administrative access and encrypted backups. One caveat on network data: a lookup places the site's IP address in Zurich, but that is a CloudFront edge node, not the country where the data lives.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting DryMerge.

  • The tool asks for broad access: inboxes, calendars, call transcripts and the CRM itself. That is a large surface to open to a single vendor, and worth scoping before connecting production accounts.
  • No postal address is published anywhere, and the DPA itself carries an unfilled template line reading Address: [Company Address]. Serving a formal notice would start with an email rather than a letter.
  • No security certification is published, neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001, although the site promises industry-leading security. The claim rests on self-description alone.
  • Accuracy of up to 99.999% on the Professional tier is announced without any published methodology, sample size or definition of a correct update. Records written by agents still deserve spot checks.
  • Legal documents span three generations, terms from September 2023, privacy from February 2024, DPA and subprocessors from October 2025, and the privacy policy still describes an embeddable chatbot rather than the CRM product now promoted. Read the DPA for the current commitments.
  • Hosting is exclusively in the United States, with no European region offered, so GDPR-bound use relies on the standard contractual clauses in the DPA and should be checked against your own transfer assessment.
  • The publisher is a two-person team by its own funding announcement, and production shows wear: /solutions/agents returns a 404 and several Get started buttons point at an empty anchor. Continuity and maintenance are fair questions to raise during the demo.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. DryMerge advertises connecting your business tools and CRM in minutes, and each integration is authorized by the customer through OAuth rather than configured by hand. There is no new interface to learn, since the team keeps using its existing applications, and automations on the original platform are written in plain English in a chat window, with no programming skills required. Higher tiers add white-glove onboarding, founder-led support and a dedicated Slack channel. The one exception is the self-hosted deployment offered on Enterprise, which does assume real infrastructure resources on the customer's side.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does DryMerge's CRM automation actually work?
AI agents monitor the sources you connect, typically email and calendar, and pull out interactions, meeting details and action items, then write them into the CRM without anyone typing them in.
Which CRMs does DryMerge support?
Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho and Pipedrive across the tiers, with DealCloud and Affinity added on the Professional and Enterprise plans.
How accurate are the agents?
DryMerge states roughly 85-90% with standard models, up to 99.999% on the Professional tier, and custom models on Enterprise. No methodology behind those figures is published.
Can DryMerge automate anything other than the CRM?
Yes. Email follow-ups and spreadsheet updates are listed on the Professional and Enterprise tiers, and the original automation platform covers wider workflows across the connected apps.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. The privacy policy states that DryMerge does not train models on user data and that OpenAI does not train on DryMerge user data either. AI processing is opt-in through an explicit checkbox when an automation is created.
Where is the data hosted?
In the United States, on Amazon Web Services. The home page states that all data infrastructure is hosted there, and no European hosting region is offered.
How much does DryMerge cost?
The CRM product is quote-only on all three tiers. The automation platform starts at 0 USD per month on the free tier and 25 USD per month for the Individual plan, with Business and Enterprise on request.
Is a data processing agreement available?
Yes. A DPA effective 22 October 2025 is published, alongside a named subprocessor list and a commitment to 30 days' notice before any change of subprocessor.
Is there a mobile app?
No iOS or Android app is published. DryMerge is a web product designed to run in the background of the applications you already use.
Is there a minimum age to use DryMerge?
Yes. The privacy and cookie policies state that the services are not intended for children under the age of 13.
Conclusion

Should you pick DryMerge?

On the strength of what it publishes, DryMerge is a working product rather than a landing page. The site names customers and their job titles, lists roughly 85 connectors that each have their own page, ships a gallery of ready-made agents and usage documentation, and carries a seven-document legal stack including a dated data processing agreement and a named subprocessor list. Its privacy commitments are clearer than most at this size: no training on customer data, AI processing behind an explicit opt-in, encryption in transit and at rest, deletion within ninety days of termination.

The blind spots are just as visible. No postal address exists anywhere, and the DPA still carries the unfilled placeholder Address: [Company Address]. The flagship CRM product has no public price at all, while a second, older grid, free then 25 USD a month, sits one footer link away and describes a different product. The legal documents come from three different years, and the privacy policy still talks about an embeddable chatbot. No security certification is published, and the 99.999% accuracy figure comes with no methodology attached.

None of that is disqualifying, and most of it reads as a two-person team, funded by a 2.2 million USD seed round and backed by Y Combinator, shipping product faster than it maintains its own pages. DryMerge suits teams that already run Salesforce or HubSpot, accept a sales conversation instead of a price list, and can host their data in the United States. Anyone who needs published certifications, an API or an EU region should put those questions on the table before signing, and read the DPA rather than the privacy policy to know what is actually committed today.
