Equals
An AI-native spreadsheet wired to a managed Snowflake warehouse, built for SaaS go-to-market teams. Equals combines three layers, AI agent, spreadsheet and warehouse, around one promise: AI for the numbers that can't be wrong.
What is Equals?
Equals describes itself as the AI-native successor to Excel, aimed squarely at go-to-market analytics. Its stated mission is to make the numbers a company reports on, ARR, NRR, pipeline and retention, verifiable rather than merely fast, under the tagline AI for the numbers that can't be wrong.
The product assembles three layers. The warehouse is a Snowflake instance operated by Equals on the customer's behalf; SaaS connectors run on Fivetran, while SQL connectors are built by Equals directly. The spreadsheet is the calculation layer, a full workbook environment where every figure traces back to logic you can inspect. The AI layer is an agent that builds reports and answers questions on top of that logic, and it can be queried from Slack: the site shows a user asking for the month's NNARR and receiving a breakdown by business unit. The central argument is one source of truth, summed up as Same question? Same answer.
Twenty-three published use cases fall into three families: Revenue and Retention (ARR dashboard, NRR, retention cohorts, operating model), Sales Pipeline and Funnel (pipeline, waterfall, conversion rates, pacing, paid campaigns, web traffic), and Team and Customer Management (customer health scoring, commissions, forecasting, rep performance, renewals). Results are distributed as scheduled pushes to Slack or email, embeds in Notion or Coda, PDF exports and a TV mode, and calculated values can be written back to HubSpot or Salesforce. An MCP server and a REST API expose the workspace to external assistants.
Onboarding is human. A dedicated Forward Deployed Analyst configures the syncs and builds the first reports, with a typical go-live announced in under a week, the pitch being that no data stack or team is required. The security posture includes SOC 2 Type II, regular penetration tests, encrypted credentials and a single static outbound IP address.
Equals Technologies, Inc. is based in San Francisco, shows a team of 13 and is backed by a16z, Craft Ventures and BoxGroup. Named customers include Notion, Intercom, Descript, Superhuman, Pylon, Thanx, Osano, Sprig, Default, 11x, Expo, Komi, Deepscribe, Sightline Climate and Atticus. Development is active, with monthly release notes from May to July 2026. The scope is deliberately narrow: SaaS go-to-market analytics, not general-purpose business intelligence.
What it does
- Connect your CRM, billing, product, accounting and SQL sources and sync them to a Snowflake warehouse managed by Equals
- Ask the AI agent a business question, or have it build a full report
- Query the data in SQL or with a drag-and-drop builder, with no SQL required
- Build the analysis in a complete spreadsheet: formulas, pivot tables, calculated columns
- Publish live dashboards and ask follow-up questions directly on them
- Push scheduled reports to Slack, email, Notion or PDF
- Write calculated values back into the CRM
When to use Equals / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Equals is the right fit.
When to use Equals
- RevOps and strategic finance teams at Series A to C SaaS companies who own ARR, NRR and pipeline reporting
- Founders and operators who need a single source of truth without hiring a data team, since no data stack or team is required
- Go-to-market leaders who publish recurring revenue and retention dashboards to the whole company
- Teams where an answer has to be auditable down to the formula, not merely fast
- Companies already running Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, NetSuite or SQL databases that they want synced and analyzed in one place
When not to use Equals
- Individuals, freelancers and very small businesses: entry pricing starts at 24,000 USD per year
- Anyone who wants to sign up and test alone: there is no free plan and no self-service registration, access goes through a sales demo
- Mobile-first users: no iOS or Android application is published
- Organizations with strict EU data requirements: no GDPR compliance is claimed, no DPA is published and no hosting region is announced
- Teams unwilling to grant a perpetual license over their data, since clause 1.3 of the terms lets Equals use Customer Data to train and improve the platform with no documented opt-out
How to use Equals
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Request a demo from the website: there is no self-service sign-up
- Get your workspace created, after which teammates can auto-join by email domain
- Connect your sources: CRM, billing, product, accounting tools, SQL databases or an existing warehouse
- Let the Forward Deployed Analyst configure the syncs and transformations and deliver the first workbooks, with 2 implementations included per plan and 1 per connector purchased
- Turn raw tables into clean Views, with DBT-style dependencies between them
- Query the data with the drag-and-drop query builder or the SQL editor
- Build the analysis in the spreadsheet, calling AI Assist with Cmd or Ctrl + J to write formulas and SQL
- Ask the AI agent to build a report or answer a question, including from Slack
- Publish dashboards, schedule pushes to Slack or email, embed them in Notion or Coda, or export to PDF
- For programmatic access, create an API token under Settings then API tokens (it is displayed only once) and connect external assistants through the MCP server
Pros & Cons
Pros
- The whole chain in one place: sync, warehouse, calculation, AI and distribution, with nothing to assemble yourself
- An auditable calculation layer, since every AI answer resolves to spreadsheet logic you can open and check
- No data team required: Equals operates the Snowflake warehouse and a Forward Deployed Analyst builds the first reports
- Unlimited seats on all three plans, so the cost does not grow with the size of the team
- No cap on queries, workbooks or dashboards
- SOC 2 Type II with regular penetration tests, encrypted credentials and unique credentials per source and per customer
- Pricing published openly and named, verifiable customer references, both rare in this segment, plus a broad integration surface of around 46 connectors and platforms alongside MCP and a REST API
Cons
- Entry ticket of 24,000 USD per year, with no free plan and no self-service trial
- Access is gated by a sales demo: you cannot sign up and evaluate on your own
- Clause 1.3 of the terms grants Equals a perpetual license over Customer Data, training and improving the platform included, with no documented opt-out
- No GDPR compliance claimed, no Article 27 representative, no published DPA
- No subprocessor list published even though Fivetran, Snowflake and Stripe all handle the data, no retention period published and no hosting region announced
- No mobile application, and legal documents are PDF-only, with terms whose filename dates from April 2022
- Additional connectors are billed separately at 199 or 699 USD per month, the functional scope is centered on SaaS go-to-market analytics, and no interface language other than English is announced
Pricing & Plans
There is no free plan. A free trial exists but is not self-service: its duration is negotiated case by case. Pricing follows an annual subscription model with three plans, Essential at 24,000 USD per year, Business at 36,000 USD per year and Enterprise at 60,000 USD per year, all three including unlimited reader and editor seats. Each plan bundles a monthly AI credit of 250 USD, 500 USD or 1,000 USD respectively, beyond which AI usage is billed on consumption. Connector allowances are 3, then 5 or a warehouse, then unlimited or a warehouse, with sync frequencies of 6 hours, 1 hour and 15 minutes. On Business and Enterprise, additional connectors cost 199 USD per month for databases and scripts and 699 USD per month for the others, while additional implementation time is charged at 5,000 USD per 10-hour block. Payment is made by card or bank transfer through Stripe, in advance and non-refundable, with automatic renewal and 30 days' notice required for non-renewal. A fair use policy applies to connectors operated by Fivetran.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Equals handles your data.
GDPR overview
No GDPR provision is documented anywhere. Neither GDPR nor General Data Protection Regulation appears in any page or document collected on the site, no EU representative under Article 27 is named, and no data protection officer is designated. The privacy policy is written for a United States audience: it contains Children, Do Not Track and US advertising opt-out sections (DAA, NAI), but no reference to standard contractual clauses or to international transfers. The only published privacy contact is an individual address, ben@equals.app. The agreement is governed by the law of the State of New York, with exclusive jurisdiction in New York, and Equals states that its websites and services are designed for business customers. In short, the site is silent on GDPR: nothing there claims compliance, and nothing there denies it.
Who owns the data?
Under section 2 of the terms and conditions, the customer retains all right, title and interest in and to its Customer Data. Section 1.3 then grants Equals two separate licenses: a limited one to operate the service, and a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, sublicensable and transferable license to copy, distribute, display, create derivative works of and otherwise use that data for Equals's own business purposes, expressly including training and/or improving the platform. Sharing with third parties is limited to aggregated and/or anonymized data. The privacy policy positions Equals as a service provider or processor for workbook content, acting on the customer's behalf, and states that Equals does not control what those workbooks contain.
Reuse rights
The privacy policy lists the purposes as service delivery and improvement, communications, support, research and development on aggregated or anonymized data, marketing and targeted advertising, and compliance and protection. Collected categories include contact and account details, payment data handled through Stripe (Equals states it never accesses card numbers), communications, marketing data, and technical or browsing data gathered partly through cookies, local storage and web beacons. Do Not Track signals are not honored. Data may be shared with vendors, advertising partners, professional advisers, authorities and an acquirer in a corporate transaction. Two limits are explicit: customer Google Analytics data is never used for any purpose other than Service delivery, and advertising partners are excluded from the web application once a user is signed in.

Hosting summary
No hosting country or region is declared anywhere on the site. What is stated is that synced data lives in a Snowflake instance operated by Equals on the customer's behalf. The company is incorporated in the United States and its terms are governed by New York law, so a US jurisdiction is a reasonable working assumption rather than a documented fact. On the security side, access to production servers is restricted, and Equals states that all sensitive credentials, including passwords, SSH private keys, connection strings and OAuth tokens, are stored encrypted in the database with a key limited to the servers that need it. Customer data is segregated through unique credentials per source and per customer, and outbound connections come from a single static IP address, 54.68.61.53, which customers whitelist on their SQL databases. Equals holds SOC 2 Type II, runs regular penetration tests and announces encryption at rest in its pricing FAQ. The marketing domain is served behind Amazon infrastructure, but that is a network observation about the website, not a declaration about where customer data is stored. No subprocessor list is published.

Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Equals.
- Clause 1.3 of the terms grants Equals a perpetual, irrevocable and sublicensable license over Customer Data, expressly including training and improving the platform; it survives termination of the contract and no opt-out mechanism is documented
- No GDPR compliance is claimed, no EU representative under Article 27 is named and no DPA is published, so a European buyer has nothing off-the-shelf to rely on
- No subprocessor list is published even though Fivetran, Snowflake and Stripe all handle customer data, and neither a retention period nor a hosting region is announced
- Convenience can erode scrutiny: because the agent answers in plain language from Slack, teams may stop opening the underlying workbook, and the auditability Equals offers only protects you if someone actually uses it
- Equals does not respond to Do Not Track signals, and third-party advertising partners are active on the marketing site, though not inside the application once a user is signed in
- Annual commitment paid in advance and non-refundable, with automatic renewal and 30 days' notice required to stop it
- The terms are published only as a PDF whose filename dates from April 2022, and the sole privacy contact is a personal address on a neighboring domain, so it is worth confirming who actually handles a data request
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for the customer. Setup is run by a Forward Deployed Analyst from Equals, who configures the syncs and transformations and delivers the first workbooks, so the customer installs nothing. The announced go-live is under a week. Prerequisites are administrative rather than technical: read access to the sources you want connected, and whitelisting Equals's static IP address on your SQL databases. No data team and no pre-existing warehouse are required, and teammates can auto-join by email domain. Customization afterwards is open-ended, since the product remains a full spreadsheet. SQL skills help but are not mandatory.

Should you pick Equals?
Equals is a solid, well-documented tool on a deliberately narrow patch of ground: go-to-market analytics for SaaS companies. Its differentiator is real. Most AI analytics products ask you to trust a generated answer, while Equals routes that answer through a spreadsheet whose logic you can open and follow, sitting on a Snowflake warehouse the vendor operates for you. For a RevOps or finance team that publishes ARR, NRR and pipeline numbers the whole company acts on, that auditability is worth more than speed, and the included Forward Deployed Analyst removes most of the setup burden.
The reservations are equally clear. At 24,000 USD per year to start, with no free plan and no self-service sign-up, Equals is out of reach for individuals, freelancers and small businesses, and it cannot be evaluated without a sales conversation. Unlimited seats soften that, but the annual commitment is paid in advance, non-refundable and renews automatically.
The legal reservation deserves attention. The customer keeps ownership of its data, yet clause 1.3 of the terms grants Equals a perpetual, irrevocable and sublicensable license to use that data for its own business purposes, training and improving the platform included, with no documented opt-out and no expiry at the end of the contract. Alongside that, the site says nothing about GDPR and publishes no DPA, no subprocessor list, no retention period and no hosting region. That silence is not a claim of non-compliance: it simply means a European buyer will have to obtain those answers contractually rather than read them off the website.
Maturity is not in doubt: named reference customers, SOC 2 Type II, monthly releases through mid-2026. Worth its price for SaaS go-to-market teams that need defensible numbers, provided the data license is negotiated first.
