Overview

What is Evalyze?

Evalyze is a web-based AI platform built to help startup founders prepare and run a fundraising round. Published by Evalyze Inc. in Toronto, it sums up its promise as finding ideal VCs or angel investors in minutes, and rests on two core products: pitch deck analysis and AI investor matching.

The analysis side takes an uploaded deck and returns an overall grade, described on the dedicated product page as a 1,000-point scale, along with strengths, weaknesses, missing elements, actionable recommendations and a comparison against market benchmarks. Evalyze says the model behind it was trained on thousands of real decks, and its FAQ cites more than 8,000 successful raises as the benchmark base. Next to the grade sits the Investor Readiness Score, presented as a credit-score-style figure across six dimensions; be aware that the homepage and investor pages describe an 850-point scale while the pitch deck page uses 1,000.

The matching side scans a stated 10,000+ verified investors drawn from NFX, Crunchbase and a private database, comparing your startup against more than 50 data points per investor, including investment history, recent funding activity, sector focus and stated preferences, with an accuracy the site puts at up to 95%. Investor Discovery adds filters for stage, sector, geography and ticket size plus an active-investor check, and every match carries a 'Why This Investor' explanation. Paid users can shortlist investors and export lists and reports in CSV and PDF.

A separate Fundraising Automation module covers application autofill, personalized email and LinkedIn messages and reply tracking, and is offered through an early-access form. Several items remain announced rather than shipped: automated outreach, an investor tracking CRM, the 'Eva' pitch copilot and AI pitch practice are all labeled 'Soon'. An investor-facing offer, covering automated due diligence, deal sourcing, predictive scoring, white labeling and CRM or data room sync, is available by demo request.

Around the product sit a public directory of roughly 12,800 indexed investor profiles and a blog of 109 articles. Evalyze is web only: no mobile app, no documented public API, and it names FounderSuite as its competitive reference.

What it does

  • Upload a pitch deck in PDF or PPT format and receive a scored analysis report
  • Obtain an Investor Readiness Score together with an improvement roadmap
  • Run an AI matching campaign and read the rationale displayed behind each investor match
  • Discover and filter investors by stage, sector, geography and ticket size
  • Build an investor shortlist and export lists and reports in CSV or PDF
  • Generate personalized outreach messages for email and LinkedIn
Audience

When to use Evalyze / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Evalyze is the right fit.

When to use Evalyze

  • Pre-seed and seed founders preparing a round, who want an outside read on their deck before it goes out to investors.
  • First-time founders with no investor network, who need a starting shortlist of relevant funds rather than a raw directory.
  • Founders who have a deck but no targeting logic, and cannot tell which funds actually invest at their stage, sector and geography.
  • Accelerators and mentors who want to standardize how they assess the startups in a cohort or portfolio.
  • VCs and accelerators looking to screen inbound deal flow, through the separate investor-side offering accessible by demo request.

When not to use Evalyze

  • Teams that need a fundraising CRM to run an active pipeline: the Investor Tracking CRM was still marked 'Soon' as of 13 August 2026, and Evalyze's own comparison content points to FounderSuite for pipeline management.
  • Series B and later companies: the positioning, benchmarks and matching logic address pre-seed to seed rounds.
  • Anyone expecting regulated advice or intermediation, since the terms state that Evalyze is not a broker-dealer, funding portal, investment adviser, law firm or accounting firm, and guarantees no introduction, meeting, term sheet or funding.
  • Users who would feed outputs into decisions governed by the US Fair Credit Reporting Act (employment, credit, housing, insurance), or into high-risk contexts such as critical systems, medical diagnosis or emergency response: the terms prohibit both.
  • Teams wanting to embed the analysis in their own stack or work on mobile: there is no documented public API and no mobile app, the product being a web dashboard only.

How to use Evalyze

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account on the Evalyze site: the free Starter plan is accessible without any credit card being mentioned, and there is nothing to install.
  2. Upload your pitch deck by drag and drop in PDF or PPT format, or answer the platform's questions about your startup instead.
  3. Let the AI analyze the deck and scan the base of 10,000+ verified investors.
  4. Read the report: overall score, strengths, weaknesses, missing elements and recommendations.
  5. Review your investor matches and the 'Why This Investor' rationale attached to each one.
  6. Refine your targeting in Investor Discovery using the stage, sector, geography and ticket-size filters, and check which investors are currently active.
  7. Keep the plan limits in mind: Starter allows up to 3 analyses, 5 deck files of 10 MB maximum, 1 campaign and 30 investor matches, while Pro raises this to 10 analyses, 15 files of 50 MB, 5 campaigns and the full 10,000+ base.
  8. Move to Pro to shortlist investors, export lists and reports in CSV and PDF, and use the AI Pitch Deck Coach.
  9. Fill in the 'Get Early Access' form, with a name and an email address, to reach Fundraising Automation, or request a demo to access the investor-side product.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • A genuinely usable permanent free plan, with 3 analyses, a campaign covering 30 investors and 5 deck files, and no time limit attached to it
  • A low paid entry point at 10 USD per month on annual billing, 20 USD on monthly billing, with a 7-day money-back guarantee on a first self-serve purchase
  • Each match comes with a stated rationale, 'Why This Investor', rather than an unexplained list, over a base announced at 10,000+ verified investors with named sources such as NFX and Crunchbase
  • Privacy documentation unusually detailed for a product of this size: GDPR legal bases purpose by purpose, quantified retention periods, DPIAs, Standard Contractual Clauses and a documented opt-out from internal model improvement
  • Legal entity and postal address published in plain text in both the terms and the privacy policy
  • Substantial free material: a public directory of roughly 12,800 investor profiles browsable without an account, and a blog of 109 articles listing investors by sector, stage and geography
  • Human coaching included from the Pro plan, with two 30-minute sessions a month, and named, attributed testimonials from founders, an accelerator and a university competition

Cons

  • A significant share of the pricing grid is marked 'Soon': automated outreach, the investor tracking CRM, the Eva copilot and AI Pitch Practice
  • Thin company transparency: no about page, no contact page, no named team, and a single address, support@evalyze.ai, for support, legal, GDPR, DMCA and billing matters, itself obfuscated by Cloudflare and not readable in plain text
  • Inconsistencies in the published material: the score scale is 1,000 points on the pitch deck page but 850 on the homepage and investor pages, the 'View Sample Report' link returned a 404 on 13 August 2026, and the terms carry a typo in the notice address ('support[@]evalyze.aii')
  • No security certification displayed, neither SOC 2 nor ISO 27001, no public subprocessor list despite the claim that subprocessors are vetted, and no hosting country explicitly named
  • No EU representative appointed under Article 27 of the GDPR, although the service addresses European users
  • Contractual terms weighted toward the publisher: liability capped at the greater of 100 USD or the fees paid over 12 months, mandatory arbitration in Toronto and a class-action waiver; signing up also enrolls you in the newsletter by default, and transactional emails cannot be unsubscribed from
  • No documented public API, no mobile app, no public price for the Managed plan, and homepage traction counters that render at zero in the static HTML, leaving those figures unverifiable without JavaScript

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Evalyze handles your data.

GDPR overview

Evalyze runs a single privacy policy aligned with EU and UK GDPR alongside PIPEDA, CCPA/CPRA and US state laws, LGPD and CASL/CAN-SPAM, effective September 2025. For EU, EEA and UK users it enumerates rights: access and portability, rectification and erasure, restriction and objection including to marketing profiling, human review of automated decisions, and complaint to a supervisory authority, with a 30 to 45 day response window and an appeal route if a request is refused. International transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, UK addenda and adequacy decisions; breaches are notified to authorities within 72 hours where GDPR applies; DPIAs are run where required and a record of processing activities is maintained. A DPA is available. Two gaps are visible: no EU representative under Article 27 is named, and no Data Protection Officer is identified.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms, you keep ownership of what you upload, including decks, data rooms and notes, but grant Evalyze Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit and display that content and to create de-identified or aggregated derivatives from it. Generated outputs are treated differently: metrics, scores, rankings, matches and analytics produced by the service are Evalyze intellectual property, licensed back to you for personal internal use for the duration of your subscription. Feedback and suggestions are assigned perpetually and irrevocably. Evalyze acts as data controller for its own service data and as processor for enterprise customers under a DPA. After termination, your content stays exportable for 30 days.

Reuse rights

The privacy policy lists processing purposes one by one, from delivering the service and automating fundraising workflows to product improvement and security, model improvement, personalization, marketing, payments and legal compliance, and attaches a GDPR legal basis to each: contractual necessity, legitimate interest, legal obligation, or consent where required. Third-party foundation model providers are not permitted to train on users' personal information, and Evalyze states that a startup's specific confidential data is not used to train its general AI models; internal model improvement runs on de-identified and aggregated data, with an opt-out available at any time by email to support. Profiling and automated decision-making are acknowledged for scoring and investor fit, with human review available on request. Investor and founder profiles are built from public sources and licensed partner data, and a verified opt-out or deletion request is handled within seven days. Evalyze states that it does not sell personal information under CCPA/CPRA, while cross-context behavioral advertising may occur with an opt-out. Signing up adds you to the newsletter by default, unsubscribes being processed within seven days. As for reuse, your own uploads remain yours, but the scores, rankings and matches the service generates are licensed for internal use, not freely reusable.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Retention is set out period by period. Account and billing data is kept for up to seven years after the account is closed, for tax, audit and legal reasons. Content uploaded by users, such as decks, data rooms and notes, is kept for up to three years after last access, or until you delete it or request its deletion. Usage and analytics logs are typically kept for two years from collection. Profiles built from public sources are kept while they remain relevant and accurate, and are deleted or irreversibly suppressed within seven days of a verified opt-out. Minimal records are retained to honor opt-outs and evidence compliance, legal holds can extend any of these periods, and deletion propagates through backups on ordinary backup cycles. After termination, content stays exportable for 30 days before deletion or anonymization.

Hosting summary

No hosting country is named anywhere on the site. The international transfers and data residency section of the privacy policy states only that Evalyze operates globally and may transfer data across borders, including to the United States, Canada and the EU/UK, without identifying where data primarily resides. Transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, UK addenda, adequacy decisions and additional safeguards such as encryption and access controls, and an overview of the mechanisms applicable to a given transfer is said to be available on request. Hosting and storage providers are mentioned generically as subprocessors, with no names and no public list. Announced security measures include encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access on a least-privilege basis, logging and monitoring, network segmentation, vulnerability management and vendor due diligence, but no certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is displayed. A network check shows the site itself served through Cloudflare (AS13335, anycast IP 188.114.97.12), which describes the website delivery layer rather than a declared location for application data. Canadian law applies, with exclusive jurisdiction in Toronto.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Evalyze.

  • Outputs are informational only: the terms guarantee no introduction, no meeting, no term sheet and no funding, and Evalyze is neither a broker-dealer nor an investment adviser, law firm or accounting firm. The main misuse is to read a score as validation of the business, and to optimize the deck for the algorithm instead of the investor.
  • The scores, rankings, matches and analytics generated by the service belong to Evalyze, not to you: you hold a personal internal-use license for the duration of your subscription, even though the deck you uploaded remains yours.
  • Using outputs for decisions governed by the US Fair Credit Reporting Act, such as employment, credit, housing or insurance, is prohibited, as are high-risk uses such as critical systems, medical diagnosis or emergency response.
  • Liability is capped at the greater of 100 USD or the fees paid over 12 months, disputes go to mandatory arbitration in Toronto with a class-action waiver, and claims are contractually time-barred after one year.
  • Billing renews automatically and must be canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the period; since part of the pricing grid is still marked 'Soon', check what is actually delivered before subscribing.
  • Signing up adds you to the newsletter by default, and transactional emails cannot be unsubscribed from unless the account is closed. You also remain responsible for the compliance of your own outreach under CASL, CAN-SPAM and e-privacy rules.
  • Published material was inconsistent when checked, with a score scale of 1,000 points on one page and 850 on another, and a 'View Sample Report' link returning a 404 on 13 August 2026. No security certification or subprocessor list is published, and investor profiles built from public sources can be deleted within seven days of a verified request.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. Evalyze is a browser application: nothing to install, no plugin, no API key, no technical configuration. You create an account, then drag and drop a deck in PDF or PPT format, or answer the platform's questions about your startup instead. The Fundraising Automation FAQ addresses the question directly and states that no technical knowledge is required, and a first result is announced within minutes. The only real effort is on your side: having an up-to-date deck and accurate answers about the company, since the quality of the analysis depends on what you upload.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Evalyze, and can I use it for free?
Evalyze is an AI fundraising agent for startup founders: it reviews your pitch deck, produces an Investor Readiness Score and matches you with investors. The Starter plan is free forever, so you can sign up and run a first analysis without paying.
What is the difference between the Starter and Pro plans?
Starter gives basic deck feedback and a matching campaign limited to 30 investors. Pro opens the full base of 10,000+ investors, advanced AI coaching on the deck, CSV and PDF exports and two monthly 1:1 strategy calls.
How does the investor matching engine work?
It compares your startup against more than 50 data points per investor, including investment history, recent funding activity, sector focus and stated preferences. Evalyze announces an accuracy of up to 95% and displays a 'Why This Investor' rationale with each match.
What kind of feedback do I get on my pitch deck?
The analysis is benchmarked against more than 8,000 successful raises and returns actionable suggestions on narrative, structure and impact, together with a grade on a 1,000-point scale, the strengths and weaknesses identified and the elements missing from the deck.
What is the Investor Readiness Score for?
It positions your startup against the same base of 8,000+ successful raises and turns the gap into an improvement roadmap. Starter delivers a basic recommendation, while Pro delivers a detailed, advanced version.
Is my confidential data used to train AI models?
Evalyze states that your specific confidential data is not used to train its general AI models, and that third-party foundation model providers are not permitted to train on your personal information. Internal model improvement runs on de-identified and aggregated data, and you can opt out at any time by emailing support.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Upgrades, downgrades and cancellations are available at any time from account settings. Since subscriptions renew automatically, cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Is there a refund policy?
A 7-day money-back guarantee covers a first self-serve purchase made directly on the site, with renewals, upgrades, credits and enterprise contracts excluded. Beyond that, monthly fees are non-refundable and annual plans may be refunded pro rata within 14 days at Evalyze's discretion.
Does Evalyze guarantee that I will raise money?
No. The terms state that the service provides informational outputs only, such as scores, rankings, matches and templates, and that no introduction, meeting, term sheet or funding is guaranteed. Evalyze is not a broker-dealer, funding portal, investment adviser, law firm or accounting firm.
Is there a mobile app or a public API?
No. Evalyze is a web product used through a browser dashboard. The terms set out a framework for API use, but no public API documentation is published, and no iOS or Android application is offered.
Conclusion

Should you pick Evalyze?

Evalyze is a young product, its domain registered on 30 October 2024 and first captured by the Wayback Machine on 9 December 2024, and that youth shows in the gap between what is shipped and what is announced. Working today is a coherent trio: deck analysis with a graded report, an Investor Readiness Score with an improvement roadmap, and investor discovery and matching over a base of 10,000+ verified profiles, each match carrying its own rationale. Missing is the execution layer, since automated outreach, the investor tracking CRM, the Eva copilot and AI pitch practice are all still labeled 'Soon'.

Transparency is oddly asymmetric. Legally it sits above average for a product of this size: named entity, postal address, GDPR legal bases purpose by purpose, quantified retention periods and a documented opt-out from internal model improvement. Corporately it is thin: no about page, no named team, no contact route beyond a single support inbox, no security certification and no EU Article 27 representative.

The cost of finding out is low, which matters. Starter is free forever, the paid entry point is 10 USD a month on annual billing, and a 7-day money-back guarantee covers a first purchase.

In practice, Evalyze makes sense for a pre-seed or seed founder preparing a round who needs an outside read on the deck and has no investor shortlist yet. It is not enough on its own to run an active pipeline, the tracking layer being absent and Evalyze's own comparison content conceding the point. Scores and matches should be treated as informational: the terms promise no introduction, no meeting, no term sheet and no funding.
