Overview

What is FanHero?

FanHero is a community and content platform published by FanHero, LLC, based in Orlando, Florida. It bundles six products that competing tools usually sell separately: a community feed, a course builder, a Netflix-style video library called VideoFlix, live streaming, monetisation, and a generative AI assistant named CREATOR AI.

The course side is the current commercial focus. Clients build learning paths made of modules, lessons and quizzes, issue completion certificates, and sell courses individually or bundle them into a paid membership. CREATOR AI shortens that work: it accepts prompts, documents, code and automations, and returns documents, presentations, images, audio and text. Text and image generation are included on every plan, audio from the Professional tier upward, and video is still marked as coming soon. A dedicated enterprise edition adds governance rules, data privacy controls and generation grounded in a company's own documents.

Around this sits a complete video stack. FanHero Studio restreams a single live signal to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Twitch at once, live sessions carry chat, polls and push notifications, and a finished stream converts to on-demand video from the portal. Uploads accept the usual video and audio containers up to five gigabytes per file, and are transcoded into ladders running from 240p to 1080p. Geofencing lets a client block playback country by country.

Monetisation runs through FanHero's own payment processor rather than a third party, with more than 120 payment gateways, multi-currency collection and a flat 2% transaction fee on every sale. Clients can also open a marketplace to sell ebooks, guides, templates and other digital goods, or run a B2B model where partner brands manage their own channels under a revenue share.

Everything is delivered white-label, although the three published plans carry a Powered By mention rather than full white labelling. A branded web app goes live in around 72 hours; the matching iOS and Android apps are a Business-plan feature and take 45 to 65 days to clear Apple and Google review. A documented public API covering identity, video CMS, broadcast, commerce and analytics is also restricted to that top tier.

What it does

  • Build and sell online courses with modules, lessons, quizzes and completion certificates
  • Generate lessons, modules or entire courses from your own documents with CREATOR AI
  • Run a branded community with a real-time feed, comments, reactions, moderation and push notifications
  • Broadcast live and restream simultaneously to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Twitch
  • Monetise through memberships, subscriptions, pay-per-view, digital products and advertising
  • Publish a Netflix-style video library on the web, then as a branded iOS and Android app
  • Connect the platform to your own systems through the identity, video CMS, broadcast, commerce and analytics APIs
Audience

When to use FanHero / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if FanHero is the right fit.

When to use FanHero

  • Course creators and knowledge experts who want to build, package and sell structured lessons, quizzes and completion certificates inside their own branded community
  • Small business owners with no marketing team, who can let CREATOR AI produce a month of text and image posts from a short questionnaire for 9.95 USD per month
  • Video-heavy organisations such as sports leagues, festivals, worship groups and health and fitness brands that need live streaming, VOD and pay-per-view in one place
  • Creators leaving revenue-share platforms, attracted by a flat 2% transaction fee, an in-house payment processor and more than 120 payment gateways
  • Enterprises building an internal content hub, who need role-based access, audit trails, a global CDN and AI-assisted generation of training and campaign material

When not to use FanHero

  • Anyone looking for a permanent free tier: the former free plan URL now redirects to the paid pricing page, and the cheapest entry point is 9.95 USD per month
  • Buyers who need a signed Data Processing Agreement, a published subprocessor list or an EU Article 27 representative, none of which FanHero publishes
  • Teams that require a written commitment on whether customer data is used to train AI models, a question the site never addresses in either direction
  • Organisations that need predictable invoices, since bandwidth, storage, encoding hours, registered users and active subscribers are all billed on top of the plan
  • Developers or brands needing API access, a custom URL or a branded mobile app on a small budget, as all three are reserved for the 249.95 USD Business plan

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • A 2% transaction fee on every sale, against the 2.9% to 16% the pricing page attributes to rival platforms
  • In-house payment processing with more than 120 gateways and multi-currency collection, avoiding a third-party processor
  • Genuinely all-in-one: community, courses, on-demand video, live streaming, marketplace and payments share one interface
  • CREATOR AI is included on every plan, including the 9.95 USD Starter tier, rather than sold as an add-on
  • Data ownership is stated explicitly, with export available at any time from the portal
  • A public API with guides, a reference and an OpenAPI index, documented on docs.fanhero.com
  • Low entry price for the category, with a 14-day trial on all plans and cancellation at any time

Cons

  • No permanent free plan: the old free-plan URL now redirects to the paid pricing page, though stale references to it survive elsewhere on the site
  • The monthly fee is only a base, as bandwidth, storage, encoding hours, registered users and active subscribers are all metered on top
  • White labelling is partial on the published plans, which display a Powered By mention
  • API access, branded mobile apps, multi-channel and a custom URL are all locked to the 249.95 USD Business plan
  • No Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list and no EU Article 27 representative are published
  • No contact email address is published at all; every enquiry goes through a web form
  • Paid subscriptions are non-refundable except where the law requires it, and the final month is never prorated

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how FanHero handles your data.

GDPR overview

There is no explicit GDPR compliance claim anywhere on the site. The privacy policy, version 4.1 effective 24 June 2024, says only that it is intended to comply with applicable data privacy laws based on the user's location. The list of rights it grants, covering confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation, portability, consent withdrawal and information on processing, follows the structure of Brazil's LGPD rather than the GDPR. The data protection contact named is a Brazilian representative, BONUZ DO BRASIL ASSESSORIA EMPRESARIAL LTDA., reachable at dpo@bonuz.it. No EU Article 27 representative is designated, no Data Processing Agreement is published and no subprocessor list exists. The help centre raises GDPR, CDPA, PCI and LGPD as a question but answers with periodic security audits and Level 1 PCI-DSS payment providers, which is not a compliance statement.

Who owns the data?

FanHero states plainly that the customer owns their data and can access or download it at any time through the FanHero Portal, or by written request. Ownership is qualified by the Client Terms and Conditions: by posting, the client grants FanHero a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, copy, edit, publicly display and create derivative works of their Client Content, and to pass it to FanHero's authorised licensees and vendors. The same mechanism applies to end users under the EULA. That licence ends when the content is deleted, but copies already shared with others fall outside FanHero's control, and deleted content survives in backups for a reasonable period.

Reuse rights

Reuse is asymmetric. Clients keep ownership of their own content and may export it at will, but they may not sell end-user information to any third party without FanHero's prior written consent. In the other direction, FanHero grants itself broad reuse rights over material posted on the platform: it may include a client's channels on FanHero-branded aggregation sites for up to twelve months after termination, and may insert advertising into or beside them while keeping the resulting revenue. Opting out of that aggregation is available only to clients whose commercial terms are governed by a negotiated Agreement, not to those on a standard plan. Personal data collected from visitors is used to operate the service, but also to target advertising, and accepting cookies is a condition of access.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
FanHero publishes no retention periods. Closing an account makes it permanently inaccessible and removes personally identifiable information from the platform, but the company states plainly that data may remain in its systems and backups in a form it says is no longer identifiable. It also reserves the right to keep some information beyond a deletion request in order to meet legal and regulatory obligations, exercise its rights, and satisfy audit and compliance requirements, for as long as those obligations require. Deleted content stays in backup copies for a reasonable period, and copies already shared with other users or clients are outside FanHero's control. A closed account cannot be reopened, though a new one can be created. In a sale, merger or bankruptcy, user information may be transferred as a company asset and fall under a different policy.

Hosting summary

FanHero gives only a broad indication of where data lives. The privacy policy states that information may be transmitted to the United States or another country to be stored, processed and used, depending on where its servers, offices and databases are located, and warns that US data protection law may differ from the user's own. No specific region, data centre or cloud provider is named, and no residency guarantee is offered. White-label clients are told their application runs on a hybrid virtual cloud that behaves like a dedicated instance without being one. A global CDN handles video delivery. On the security side, FanHero says sensitive information is encrypted in transit between the device and its databases, that access is limited to authorised personnel, that systems are periodically audited and scanned, that it works with Level 1 PCI-DSS payment providers, and that firewall, ARP and DDoS protections are in place. No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is claimed. The marketing site itself resolves to a Cloudflare address geolocated in the United States, which says nothing about where customer data is held.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting FanHero.

  • The advertised monthly price is a floor, not a ceiling: metered bandwidth, storage, encoding, registered users and active subscribers can multiply a successful channel's invoice
  • Billing details are collected at the start of the 14-day trial and charged automatically on its final day, and paid subscriptions are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise
  • Accepting cookies is mandatory to use the platform, Do Not Track is explicitly unsupported, and the privacy policy claims targeted advertising as a purpose
  • Nothing in the contracts says whether customer content is used to train AI models, so anyone uploading proprietary or sensitive documents into CREATOR AI is doing so without a written commitment
  • FanHero reserves the right to terminate an account after a month of no activity, or of activity it judges insufficient at its sole discretion
  • Deleting content does not fully erase it: copies already shared with others are outside FanHero's control, and backups are retained for a reasonable period
  • Leaning on a generative assistant for course content can erode the author's own subject mastery, and learners may be paying for material the seller has not genuinely written or reviewed
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for everyday use. Sign-up is self-service through Google or email and takes three or four screens, and running the platform afterwards requires no code: uploading, categorising, building courses and creating offers all happen in the portal. CREATOR AI is designed for people who have never written a prompt. The branded web app goes live in about 72 hours. Difficulty rises only at the edges: mobile apps need 45 to 65 days of app store review, customising registration fields must be scoped with FanHero, and API integration is the client's own responsibility and needs the Business plan.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does FanHero have a free plan?
No. All three published plans are paid and start at 9.95 USD per month, each with a 14-day free trial that can be cancelled at any time. The old free-plan address now redirects to the pricing page, so references to a free tier still visible elsewhere on the site are out of date.
How much does FanHero take on each sale?
A flat 2% transaction fee applies on every plan. The pricing page contrasts this with competing platforms it places between 2.9% and 16%, without naming them. Payments run through FanHero's own processor, which the site says integrates more than 120 payment gateways worldwide and collects in several currencies.
What can CREATOR AI actually generate?
It accepts prompts, documents, code and automations, and produces text, images and audio, plus documents, presentations and code in the enterprise edition. Text and image generation are enabled on every plan, audio from Professional upward, and video is still listed as coming soon. It can draft modules, individual lessons or a complete course.
Can I get a mobile app under my own brand?
Yes, but only on the Business plan at 249.95 USD per month. FanHero generates white-label iOS and Android applications for the client. The branded web app goes live in roughly 72 hours, whereas the mobile apps take between 45 and 65 days to pass Apple App Store and Google Play review.
Is there an API?
Yes. FanHero publishes documentation at docs.fanhero.com covering identity, video CMS, broadcast, commerce and analytics endpoints, along with guides, a changelog and a machine-readable index. API access is reserved for the Business plan, and the client is responsible for carrying out the integration.
Who owns the content and the data?
The customer does. FanHero states that clients can access and download all their data at any time from the portal or on request. In exchange, the Client Terms grant FanHero a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use and display that content for the purposes of the contract, and deleted material survives in backups for a reasonable period.
Does FanHero train AI models on customer data?
The site does not say, in either direction. Neither the privacy policy, the Client Terms nor the EULA mentions model training on customer content, and no opt-out mechanism is documented. Given that CREATOR AI is a headline feature, this silence is worth raising with the vendor before committing sensitive material.
What is the minimum age to use the platform?
Thirteen. The privacy policy states that users under 13, or under 16 where local law requires it, will not be allowed access. The end user licence agreement asks users to confirm they are 13 or older, and 18 or older in certain regions.
Is FanHero GDPR compliant?
The site never claims so explicitly. The privacy policy says only that it aims to comply with the data privacy laws applicable to the user's location, and the rights it lists follow Brazil's LGPD. The named data protection contact is a Brazilian representative at dpo@bonuz.it, and no EU Article 27 representative or Data Processing Agreement is published.
Can I stream to YouTube and FanHero at the same time?
Yes. FanHero Studio sends a single live signal simultaneously to YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Twitch alongside FanHero itself. The reverse is not possible: the help centre confirms you cannot pull an existing YouTube stream into FanHero without going through a separate restreaming service.
Conclusion

Should you pick FanHero?

FanHero is one of the broadest offers in its category for the money. For 9.95 USD a month it puts a community feed, a course builder, a video library, live streaming, a digital storefront and a generative AI assistant behind a single login, and it charges 2% on sales where several rivals take far more. For a creator or a small business that wants to sell courses and memberships under its own name without stitching four subscriptions together, that combination is hard to match.

The real decision is not the headline price but the meter behind it. Bandwidth, storage, encoding hours, registered users and active subscribers are all billed above the included quotas, so a channel that succeeds will cost noticeably more than its plan suggests. The features that most buyers picture when they read white label are also concentrated at the top: branded mobile apps, a custom URL, multi-channel and API access all require the 249.95 USD Business plan, and the cheaper tiers still display a Powered By mention.

Governance is where the offer thins out. FanHero publishes clear, readable contracts and states data ownership unambiguously, but there is no Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list, no EU Article 27 representative, and no position at all on whether customer content feeds AI training, which is an odd gap for a product built around a generative assistant. The named data protection contact is a Brazilian representative on a third-party domain, and no support email address is published anywhere.

The site itself shows its age in places, with stale pages advertising a free plan that no longer exists. FanHero suits creators and small teams who value breadth and low fees, and who can accept variable billing and a light compliance posture. Regulated buyers should get written answers first.
