What is Figure?

Figure is not a piece of software. It is a physical machine: a general-purpose humanoid robot designed and built by Figure AI Inc., an American company based in San Jose, California. The current generation, Figure 03, was introduced on 9 October 2025. It stands 5 ft 8 in, weighs 61 kg, carries a 20 kg payload, runs for around five hours on a charge, walks at 1.2 m/s and is fully electric. It is the third machine of its line. F.01 took its first steps in May 2023, F.02 was built for commercial work, and F.03 was redesigned for the home with a softer look and feel. What makes the machine act is Helix, Figure's own generalist Vision-Language-Action model, an AI that learns and improves over time as it acquires new skills. Helix runs the whole loop on board and in real time, from perception to movement to reasoning, without pre-written scripts. Helix 02, announced on 27 January 2026, extended that control to the entire body through three stacked systems: S2 reasons slowly about goals, S1 turns perception into joint commands at 200 Hz, and S0 governs balance and contact at 1 kHz. S0 is a 10-million-parameter network trained on more than 1,000 hours of retargeted human motion across over 200,000 parallel simulated environments, and it replaced 109,504 lines of hand-written C++. The reference demonstration is domestic: emptying and reloading a dishwasher across a full kitchen, four minutes of autonomous work with no reset and no human intervention. The hardware exists to serve the AI, with double the frame rate, a quarter of the latency, a 60% wider field of view per camera, a camera in each palm and fingertip sensors that register 3 grams. For the home, the textiles are washable and come off without tools, multi-density foams guard against pinching, the feet charge inductively at 2 kW and data offloads over mmWave at 10 Gbps. Production is real rather than notional: Figure's BotQ plant had shipped over 350 F.03 units by 29 April 2026, moving from one robot a day to one an hour in under 120 days, with 12,000 a year as the target. Deployments include BMW, Brookfield and a Catalyst Brands agreement dated 26 May 2026. No price, purchase route or waiting list is published anywhere on the site.

GDPR overview

There is no GDPR provision. The regulation is not mentioned anywhere on Figure's site, so the company neither claims compliance with it nor denies it. The privacy policy, effective 21 January 2026, rests entirely on United States state law, namely California's CCPA/CPRA together with Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia. Residents of those states may request access, deletion, correction and portability, and may appeal to their state attorney general if a request is refused. Who owns the data?

Figure's privacy policy, effective 21 January 2026, never states who owns the data it collects.
