Flipner AI is a voice-to-text writing application published by "Aleks Ego" LLC. Its premise is that speaking is faster than typing, and the site claims a tenfold gain in writing speed. It deliberately avoids the transcription label: what it promises is the conversion of speech into authorial, ready-to-use articles that preserve the original intent of the author.
The product has two halves. The first is capture: you dictate short audio snippets whenever an idea arrives, type text snippets, or upload an audio file of up to 25 MB and 15 minutes. The second is a personal content hub where those snippets accumulate and stay reachable from any device. Generation sits on top of that store, in three steps: capture fragments, combine them into one text, then rewrite that text in one of more than ten tones and writing styles - journalistic, technical and legal among them. The output language can differ from the recording language; the FAQ lists 33 languages by name while the pricing page advertises 35+. Any snippet or finished piece can be edited by clicking on it, and paid tiers add a custom voice prompt. The FAQ names ChatGPT-4 as the generation engine.
The FAQ is explicit about the difference with ChatGPT: Flipner AI is not a chatbot and does not write in the author's place, but plays a technical role, synthesising ideas the author has already expressed. Distribution is a progressive web app installable on Android via Chrome, iPhone via Safari, Windows via Chrome or Edge and macOS via Chrome, with no native store application. As of 23 August 2026, app.flipner.com no longer serves the product: the host is unconfigured, HTTPS presents no certificate, and /sign-up, /login and /install all return 404, while the marketing site stays online and keeps selling lifetime plans. The brand domain itself answers with a 302 redirect to flipner.webflow.io.

GDPR overview
Implementation is partial and never claimed outright. The privacy policy, last updated 18 September 2023, devotes a section to people located in the EU and the UK and names the legal bases relied on: consent, contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations and vital interests. Section 10 recognises access and copy, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, the right not to be subject to automated decision-making and withdrawal of consent, for residents of the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Canada. Servers are declared in Germany and Finland, with international transfers announced. Do-Not-Track signals are not honoured. Rights are exercised at ae@flipner.com. What is absent matters as much: no explicit statement of GDPR compliance anywhere on the site, no DPO, no Article 27 EU representative, no data processing agreement, no named sub-processors, no security certification, and no published registered seat, which leaves the competent supervisory authority undetermined.
Who owns the data?
Ownership stays with the user. Section 8 of the terms states that you retain any and all of your rights to the Content you submit or display through the Service, and that you are responsible for protecting those rights. The FAQ confirms that articles produced by Flipner AI belong to you, usable wherever and however you wish. Two carve-outs apply: the Service and its own content remain the exclusive property of Flipner and its licensors (section 13), and feedback sent to ae@flipner.com becomes the publisher's property, with no confidentiality obligation (section 14). Voice recordings are collected as personal data.
Reuse rights
Generated articles can be reused without asking anyone: the FAQ states that the user owns them and is free to use them wherever and however they wish, and the terms impose no attribution or usage restriction on them. On the publisher's side, the privacy policy lists what is collected - names, email addresses, job titles, passwords and voice recordings, plus automatically captured IP addresses, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, referring URLs, device name, country, location and usage data - and the purposes served: account creation and management, service delivery, answering enquiries, administrative messages, feedback requests, marketing communications (with an opt-out), security and fraud prevention, usage-trend analysis, campaign measurement and protection of vital interests. No sensitive personal information is processed and no data is received from third parties. Payment data is stored by lemonsqueezy.com, and Google Analytics measures audience (terms, section 10). Section 4 of the policy names fourteen categories of third-party recipients - ad networks, affiliate programmes, cloud and collaboration tools, analytics, storage, payment processors, finance and accounting, monitoring, product and design tools, retargeting platforms, sales and marketing tools, social networks and web hosting - but not a single company by name. Generation itself runs on ChatGPT-4 according to the FAQ. Nowhere does the site state whether customer data is used to train models, and no training opt-out is documented.

The privacy policy is explicit: "Our servers are located in Germany, and Finland." Both are EU member states, but the site never names a hosting region as such, never names a hosting provider and mentions no datacenter certification. International transfers are announced: users accessing the service from outside Germany and Finland are told their information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the publisher's facilities and by the third parties it shares data with. Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are warned that those countries may not offer an equivalent level of protection. The technical picture is consistent with the declaration - app.flipner.com resolves to 37.27.3.55, a European address. No data processing agreement, no named sub-processor list and no security certification accompanies the hosting statement, so it rests on the policy text alone, with no contractual commitment behind it.
