Flixier
Flixier is a browser-based AI video editor that generates clips inside the timeline, then finishes them with subtitles, voiceovers, translation and live collaboration. Rendering is cloud-based, the free plan is permanent, and paid seats start at EUR 8.
What is Flixier?
Flixier is an AI-powered video editor that runs entirely in the browser, with no download and no installation: import, processing, rendering and export all happen in the cloud. Because the heavy work is done server-side, it runs on Chromebooks, aging laptops and low-powered machines, and the site's structured data lists Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, Linux, iOS and Android. It is operated by Flixier SRL, a Romanian company based in Iasi, founded in 2018 according to that same structured data, with the domain first archived in July 2019. The editorial angle is stated bluntly on the homepage: if it is not in the timeline, it is not finished. AI generation lives inside the editing timeline rather than in a separate generator, so a clip can be prompted, dropped on the track, extended from its last frame and joined to the next scene with an AI transition without leaving the project. Several model families can be compared before you commit: Veo, Kling, Wan and Seedance, including Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0 Pro and Seedance 2.0, alongside Grok, Gen-4 Turbo, Happy Horse, Wan Effects, Creatify Aurora and OmniHuman 1.5. Image generation cites Flux 2 Pro, Nano Banana Pro, Stable Diffusion 3, GPT Image 1.5 and Imagine Art. The second pillar is Eva, an editing assistant that reads the transcript, decides what to keep, strips silences and filler words, sequences the result and adds text, subtitles, visuals and the shared brand kit, returning a first cut or a set of clips. When a decision would change the shape of the video, she shows her plan before acting. Around that sit conventional tools, from trim, cut, flip, blur and split to speed, green screen, text and music, plus built-in screen, webcam, voice, PowerPoint and Zoom recorders, automatic subtitles, subtitle translation, audio translation announced for 130+ languages and AI dubbing. Teams get real-time collaboration, timestamped comments, a review link that needs no account, unlimited collaborators on the Creator and Business tiers, a shared brand kit, project history and a library of 4M+ assets on the higher plans. The interface ships in eight languages, and the site claims over one million creators use Flixier every day, with public review scores between 4.2 and 4.8 out of 5.
What it does
- Generate AI video clips directly in the timeline and extend them from the last frame
- Turn a long recording into a finished first cut or a set of short clips with the Eva assistant
- Compare several generation models side by side before committing to one
- Add automatic subtitles and translate them, or dub the audio with AI
- Generate AI voiceovers and text-to-speech narration
- Collaborate in real time with comments pinned to precise timecodes
- Export up to 4K and publish straight to social platforms
When to use Flixier / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Flixier is the right fit.
When to use Flixier
- Solo creators and small teams who edit straight from a browser, including on Chromebooks or underpowered laptops
- Marketing teams producing social clips, ads and product videos without a desktop editing suite
- Internal training, online education and product support teams turning courses and webinars into finished videos
- Anyone repurposing long-form material such as podcasts, webinars and interviews into short vertical clips
- Distributed teams that need timestamped comments on the timeline and a review link that works without an account
When not to use Flixier
- Developers who need programmatic access: Flixier publishes no public API and no developer documentation
- Users who need offline or native editing: there is no desktop app, no mobile app and no browser extension
- Editors working with footage that has no spoken content, since Eva builds her cut from the transcript and has nothing to read
- Regulated or security-sensitive organizations: no SOC 2 or ISO 27001, no data processing agreement and no named sub-processor list
- Colorists and audio engineers expecting a professional finishing suite, since the tool offers enhance audio, upscale and color match rather than grading and mixing
How to use Flixier
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account with an email address, or through Google or Facebook; the site states that no credit card is required
- Start a new project from the Flixier editor, which opens directly in the browser
- Bring in your footage from your device, Google Drive, Dropbox or a pasted link, or record your screen and webcam on the spot
- To generate a clip, pick a model, write a prompt or add a reference image, and generate inside the project; most clips take a few minutes depending on length and complexity
- Compare the output of several models before validating the one you keep
- Drop the clip on the timeline, extend it from its last frame and connect scenes with AI transitions
- Alternatively, hand a long recording to Eva: describe your intent in plain language and she returns a first cut in the Flixier timeline
- Add text, subtitles, AI voiceovers and visuals, and apply your shared brand kit
- Invite teammates by email or share a review link so comments land on precise timecodes, with no account needed to comment
- Export from the same timeline and publish to the platforms; YouTube export requires a Google account, a YouTube channel and authorization of a YouTube Data API client
Pros & Cons
Pros
- AI generation and editing happen in one place, with no export and re-import between a generator and an editor
- Several video and image model families are available under a single subscription and can be compared before you commit
- Nothing to install: it runs on modest hardware and Chromebooks, with cloud rendering independent of your machine
- A permanent free plan with no credit card and 500 AI credits to try the AI tools
- Native collaboration: timestamped comments, review links that need no account, and unlimited collaborators from the Creator tier
- Annual billing advertised at 53% off (EUR 8 per seat per month instead of EUR 17 on Starter), and subscriptions can be paused for one to three months without billing
- A clear position on AI training, with no use of user data to train models without explicit consent, backed by unusually detailed AI Terms of Use
Cons
- No public API and no developer documentation, so programmatic integration is impossible
- No desktop app, no mobile app and no browser extension: everything depends on the browser and on the connection
- The free plan carries a Flixier watermark and caps exports at 10 minutes per month, subtitles at 5 minutes, resolution at 720p and storage at 2 GB
- In-timeline AI generation and transcript editing are reserved for the Creator and Business tiers, and extra AI credits cannot be bought on Free or Starter
- No published security certification, no data processing agreement, no named sub-processor list and no declared hosting country or region, while transfers outside the EEA are possible
- Refunds only within the first 14 days and only if the service has never been used, and plans advertised as unlimited are capped by a fair use policy at 1 TB of storage and 50 hours of export
- Content is purged after three months of account freeze or 90 consecutive days of inactivity on a free account, and contractual liability is capped at EUR 500
Pricing & Plans
Flixier operates on a freemium model. A permanent free plan is available at no cost and without a credit card, and no time-limited free trial is advertised on the pricing page. Three paid tiers are then billed per seat. On monthly billing, Starter costs EUR 17, Creator EUR 34 and Business EUR 61 per seat per month. On annual billing, advertised at 53% off, the same tiers cost EUR 8, EUR 16 and EUR 28 per seat per month, that is EUR 95, EUR 190 and EUR 327 per year. The lowest paid entry point is therefore EUR 8.00 per seat per month on an annual commitment. Prices are displayed in euros and local VAT may be added depending on the country of residence and the status of the subscriber. AI credits fund generation and transcription and are consumed at a variable rate per model and per clip length: plans include 500 credits (Free), 2,000 (Starter), 10,000 (Creator) and 30,000 (Business), and Creator and Business subscribers can buy add-on packs from EUR 9 per month for 50,000 credits up to EUR 54 for 300,000. A full refund is available within the first 14 days only if the service has never been used. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and remain active until the end of the current cycle, and any price change is announced 15 days in advance by email.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Flixier handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is explicit but lightly documented. Flixier SRL (company number 41779049, Toma Savescu No 15, Iasi, Romania) acts as controller and states that personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679; the privacy policy and the terms are both dated 11 March 2026. Users are offered access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent, exercised by dated and signed letter with an ID copy or by email to info@flixier.com with an electronic signature, with a one-month response deadline. Account deletion goes through support@flixier.com or the profile settings and is handled within seven days. The right to complain to a supervisory authority is stated, as are transfers outside the EEA under appropriate safeguards available on written request. Romanian law and the courts of Iasi apply. No DPO, no data processing agreement and no named sub-processor list are published: only categories of recipients.
Who owns the data?
Under the Terms of Service effective 11 March 2026, Flixier does not claim ownership of user content. Uploading or creating content grants Flixier the right to use, modify, adapt, convert, store, reproduce, distribute, publish and display it, strictly to the extent necessary to operate the platform. Sharing through the built-in options gives recipients a free, non-exclusive permission to use that content within the platform, and waives image rights on shared photos. AI outputs are licensed back to the user on a non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide basis for use, download and sharing, subject to compliance with the terms. Flixier may restrict commercial use of certain AI outputs case by case, and warns that AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection and may involve third-party rights. Backing up content remains the user's responsibility.
Reuse rights
The privacy policy of 11 March 2026 lists ten processing purposes: operating and personalising the site, handling information requests, statistical and analytical research, financial reporting, payments, billing and debt collection, delivering the service, displaying third-party content, newsletters and advertising, supplier management and investor management. Each purpose is tied to a stated legal basis: consent, legitimate interest, performance of a contract or legal obligation. The data covered includes identification details (name, email, address), device and browsing data (IP address, operating system, browser, approximate location), financial data (account number), media usage, support requests, and image and sound recordings. Flixier states that it neither sells nor rents personal data to third parties for their own purposes and circulates it internally on a need-to-know basis, with no automated decision-making and no profiling. Google Analytics is used for visit logs, with the Google opt-out add-on mentioned, and email marketing runs on explicit opt-in with free unsubscribe at any time. On AI training, the AI Terms of Use state that user data is not used to train AI models unless the user has explicitly consented, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time; some AI features are powered by third-party AI models or services. Users keep their own content and may reuse and download what they create, subject to the licence conditions attached to AI outputs.

Hosting summary
Flixier declares no hosting country and no hosting region anywhere on its website. The privacy policy of 11 March 2026 names only categories of recipients, one of which is processors who provide hosting of the website and related databases; no named sub-processor list and no data processing agreement are published, and no cloud provider or data center location is mentioned. The policy does state that personal data may be processed by these recipients outside the European Economic Area, with appropriate safeguards in place and a copy of the measures available on written request. Jurisdiction is clearer than infrastructure: the controller, Flixier SRL, is established in Iasi, Romania, processing is declared to follow Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and the terms apply Romanian law with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Iasi. No security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 and no named technical measure, such as encryption, two-factor authentication or SSO, appears on the site. One network observation, not a publisher statement: the domain resolves behind Cloudflare (104.20.18.1, AS13335, anycast), which describes the front end and says nothing about where media is stored.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Flixier.
- Displayed prices differ from one page to another: the pricing page shows monthly billing (EUR 17, 34 and 61), the homepage shows the annual view (EUR 8, 16 and 28), so check the billing mode before drawing conclusions
- Unlimited is not unlimited: a fair use policy caps total storage at 1 TB and export time at 50 hours
- Refunds are almost impossible once the service has been used, even inside the 14-day window
- Content is purged three months after an account is frozen, or after 90 consecutive days of inactivity without a paid subscription, and deleted content may be irretrievable, so keep your own backups
- AI credits are consumed fast: the site indicates that 50,000 credits buy roughly six Seedance 2.0 clips or seven Veo 3 image-to-video clips
- Flixier can restrict commercial use of certain AI outputs case by case and without notice, and you remain solely responsible for checking trademarks, likenesses and third-party rights in what you publish
- No declared hosting country, no data processing agreement and no named sub-processor list, transfers outside the EEA are possible and contractual liability is capped at EUR 500: a blocking point for sensitive or regulated data
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Setup is minimal. There is nothing to install: create an account with an email address, Google or Facebook, and the editor opens directly, with no credit card required. The site claims a drag-and-drop timeline that is fast to learn and beginner-friendly, and Eva's FAQ states that no editing skills or technical knowledge are needed. It runs on Chromebooks, old laptops and low-powered machines. Two prerequisites remain: an internet connection, since all processing is done in the cloud, and, to publish straight to YouTube, a Google account, a channel and authorization of a YouTube Data API client.

Should you pick Flixier?
Flixier defends a clear position: AI generation arrives inside a full editing timeline rather than in an isolated generator, so a prompted clip can be extended, joined with an AI transition, subtitled, voiced and exported without ever changing tools. One subscription gives access to several video and image model families, with a credit system worth watching, since credits burn quickly on the heavier models. Eva is the boldest editorial bet. She reads the transcript, cuts silences and filler words and returns a first cut, which is genuinely useful for turning webinars, podcasts and courses into short clips, and useless on footage where nobody speaks. The real audience is creators, marketing teams, internal training and online education, not professional post-production: enhance audio, upscale and color match are finishing conveniences, not a grading and mixing suite. The browser-only approach is a strength on modest hardware and a constraint everywhere else, since there is no desktop app, no mobile app and no offline mode. Several gray areas deserve to be stated plainly: no public API, no native application, no published security certification, no data processing agreement and no declared hosting country, while transfers outside the EEA are possible. Against that, the publisher is European, a Romanian company under Romanian law, with the GDPR explicitly invoked in documents dated 11 March 2026, and the AI Terms of Use are unusually detailed for this price bracket, including the commitment not to train on user data without explicit consent. Entry pricing is low on an annual commitment, but the most interesting AI features start at the Creator tier. Test the free plan first, and check the credit cost of the models you intend to use.
